Truck pick up was smooth and easy to do without an employee present. Truck was clean, free of damage, and ready to go. I did not select this location in my original reservation. One day prior to my scheduled pick up, U-haul changed my pick up location and time due to truck availability. The representative I spoke to confirmed that the utility dolly and furniture dolly I requested would both be with my truck upon pick up at this location. Unfortunately, the utility dolly and furniture dolly I reserved were not available at this location or any location between my pick up and drop off locations. I was informed of the dolly unavailability by this location via text one hour before my scheduled pick up, and the text stated, “if this is a problem, contact U-haul.” Well, of course, I was not delighted to learn one hour before pick up that the equipment I needed was not available. When reserving dollies, U-haul’s website reservation page says in bold text, “Any selected items will be with your equipment at the time of pick up.” I know the difference between “will be” (which is stated) and “may be, based on availability” (which is NOT stated), so I expected all I reserved. Joseph, a U-Haul representative, allegedly tried to find dollies for me to pick up, yet after placing me on many holds, none were actually available. He continuously stated “dolly availability isn’t guaranteed.” Perhaps U-Haul needs to adjust the bolded statement posted on the dolly reservation page of their website. Inconvenienced by all of this, I ended up having to purchase a dolly at Home Depot and return after use.

Freddy MIt was so hard to get the U-haul, many mistakes were made the reservation wasn't made to be picked up by myself, I was on the phone for a couple of hours with multiple people until I was able to get into the truck. Worst service ever.

RON MNeed to change the fuel policy as the current policy is a lose-lose policy for the renters. The vehicle fuel levels need to be full upon rental and returned full. Under the current policy, the vehicles have less than a full tank and are expected to be returned with at least the same amount. The problem is; if I return it with more gas, U Haul gets free gas out of me. If I return it with less gas, you charge me for the shortage. Therefore, it's a lose-lose situation for the renter.

David NIf renting the hand truck or dolly is an option online then the stores need to have them available. This is the second time I have rented a hand truck and show up and it’s not there. Very frustrating on move in day.

Greg WI had a reservation set and paid for pickup of a truck, 2 dollies, and 12 blankets in Grapevine TX. U-haul moved my pickup location 15 miles further away to Keller TX. The Keller location called day of pickup to inform me that Dollies and blankets had been dropped off my order. He could not help. Beware U-haul cannot confirm dolly reservation or which store has any. I got the truck with no issue but had to go to a competitor for both dolly rental and to purchase blankets. Truck worked fine. U-haul employees are powerless with a failure of an IT system. IT ISSUES NEEDS TO BE REVOLVED! Employees cited heavy computer system usage as to why it froze up. Pretty sure customer heavy usage has been during the same days and times for the last 20 years! To top it off U-haul charged me additional mileage for the additional miles I had to drive to pick up and drop off the truck! I have called customer service about this issue and was advised to call back in a couple of days if the “supervisor “ hadn’t called me back. Maybe they can use the extra money to hire a US IT person.

JANA BIf someone reserves a truck 2 weeks in advanced and the customer goes to pick up the truck and UHUAL some how "dropped the ball " and no longer have your truck additional training would be needing to not let this happen again. It cost me 3x the amount of money with this mess of a situation I endured during my time using UHUALs services. I'm highly disappointed with my experience.

Eliminate the small charges that are “optional” but not really optional - the total costs add up and it makes the rental look like a scam like “extra insurance “ and then more “extra extra insurance” 3. Put a wifi at the locations that is accessible to make the no contact rentals easier and not dependent on cell coverage especially for locations that are not in areas with good cell coverage
