We were running late to pick up the U-Haul trailer and in risk of missing their 4pm closing time. We phoned ahead that we might be late, perhaps by 10 minutes. Their response was not assuring. Though we arrived with 5 minutes to spare and in all other respects Mario and Sams Auto Service were proficient and friendly, the uncertainty we felt during the high speed ride through heavy traffic was unsettling. Customer service entails all aspects of the interaction. I would rate this facility average.jerry H.

There was a water bottle and cardboard stuffed in behind the seat. The floor needed to be vacuumed. The pad lock chain was repositioned and would not lock when attached to the latch because the chain was too short.The online check in is terrible and having to provide 2 contacts to verify it's you is redundant since you already have my picture and copy of my license. Plus I did it ahead of time but then had to reduce it once there. It's ridiculous.Benjamin T.
I had to use the self pick up and it extremely difficult to use. Not only did the app/website not want to load or take my information once in the online the info in it was not correct. I had to call and get things corrected. When I was returning the truck the app again was not friendly to use the place I was returning it to did not have a U-Haul key drop box they are mechanic shop and just used there key drop off.NICKOLAS V.

The pick up truck was filthy inside and out including the cargo bed. it has been smoked in so heavily that I had to wear a mask and keep the window down even though it was cold and raining to be able to get enough fresh smelling air in order to drive the truck. It was a pickup from an mechanics shop. I always use Uhaul but will only book from now on from an full uhaul site.Darren R.

The U-Haul app didn't work for me. Constantly stuck trying to upload driver pics to proceed with getting the truck. Luckily the people at Mario and Sams helped me with excellent service and I was quickly able to get the truck without any problems. I highly recommend not using the U-Haul app mobile pickup option to retrieve your truck, as it just does not work for most people.David B.

Picking up your vehicle using the app does not work. It took me an extra 30 minutes with customer service, to figure out that I had to use my browser on my phone. If you have an app, make sure it actually works, otherwise it might confuse people that are less tech savyFlavien G.

More instructions on how to use lockbox The website would not work properly every time I would put information in it would kick it back saying server wasn't working or it was just slow all together wouldn't take my information or location upon arrival or when I was returning the rental that's why I stopped trying to do the return online the website is good as per booking vehicle but I think I will not in the future use the website to check in or return a rental as it took almost an hour to pick the truck up and I just gave up after 20 minutes when trying to return itWilliam M.

On three occasions I have rented from a location only have to drive to another location for pick up. Two of the three occasions were at my time and expense. I will access my next rental requirements and will likely not be U haul. Unfortunate as the Plains Road location staff are excellent.RODNEY Y.
The only small issue I had was that it was a little difficult finding the key drop box as there is not one labelled U-Haul. The truck was clean and actually smelled nice which was a very pleasant surprise!! I am VERY happy with the overall process and with the truck and definitely I'll recommend and use Mario and Sam's Auto Service & Sales again!!! Thank you!!Natasha F.

A cleaner truck would be better . I swept out cab , cleaned windows and cargo spot . I feel the truck operation sould have been explained better . Example overdrive , gearing down , wide turns .GARYC D.

I had issues with the website timing out and errors but then finding out that that I had booked three different trucks. So i cancelled the the ones I didn't need. I showed up to Tottle mini storage and the truck wasn't available but the guys were trying to find me another one. They were on the Phone with an Uhaul representative and they suggested going to Ancaster which was definitely too far for me to pick up. Tottle then booked me the Van at Mario and Sams. The check in Process was long and kept asking me to enter the same information I had inputted several times but I finally got the band and hour and half later.Sean K.

The local dealers seem willing to bend over backwards to help their customers but it is head office that limits what they can do. U Haul advertises one way trips but so often they (head office ) say no or want to charge extra. If you want a multi day rental it's also difficult to get. With so many locations I don't understand that line of thinking? My thanks to the local dealers!!!WENDYD L.

Over charged in the system for an extra day and yet the my wouldn't take any responsibility. I'm owed for 1 day rental and they say â€œit's Uhaul's issueâ€â€¦.TREVORSCOTT N.
There was no big issues with the location itself. The vehicle wasn't quite as clean as one would hope, especially during covid. There was hair and fur all over the front seat and leaves in the back - but it was fine. The biggest inconvenience was the mobile check-in. It took us over an hour to check-out. We were unable to look up our order by confirmation number, then we're having troubles logging in. We started with the app, which didn't work well to begin with, then it stopped working completely when trying to confirm driver photo. We are young tech-savvy individuals, who work on computers every day, the issue was the usability of the app and website. We contacted support through chat, confirmed settings were all accurately set and still no luck. We then were told to switch to chrome and it STILL didn't work. We gave the support member our confirmation number and asked them to look into it. We finally pulled out almost 1 and a half hours after arriving.Randall B.

The app for pickup when location is closed is beyond awful. I was signed in but the app didn't recognize we even had a reservation so we spent 75 minutes on the phone trying to get it sorted out while people were waiting at our house to help us load up. Most stressful and awful truck rental experience of my life and I've moved 15 times. 10/10 would not recommend to anyoneWILL C.

I put way more gas in then when I started and was told I wouldn't be reimbursed. But if I brought it back with less then I would've been charged for it. I guess my opinion would be to make sure gas tanks are full so it's easier to judge how much gas you needScott H.

The cell phone pick-up was more complicated and annoying than expected so the pick up took half hour longer. When trying to drop off the vehicle my login information was no longer recognized so I had to call in.Ania T.
Mario and his crew were AWESOME. Their showroom was clean and well organized, the rental equipment and products he has were clean, well maintained and easy to use. I picked up a trailer and he changed my hitch around, hooked up the trailer and gave me instructions on how to operate u-hauls kingpin. Not a comment of improvement more of a compliment. I brought the truck back early during business hours and couldn't find the drop box. The gentlemen in the store came out and showed me what to do, joked with me and asked me if I was satisfied with my experience. I opted for mobile so that I could do it myself but afterwords I almost wished I went in from the get to because he was super attentive and explained everything so well. Renting and driving my first uhaul was intimidating but the online check in made it easy and the customer service I received after made me wish I had another reason to visit that store. The cost was also super affordable. I wish I knew about this in previous moves I wouldn't have even called friends for a truck given how easy and affordable renting a uhaul can be. In town anyways, long drives or distance shipping (uhaul boxes) are definitely pricier than other options. Overall I was super pleased with my rental it made my move 100 times less stressful.KIRSTEN D.

Rented the truck, appliance dolly and and moving blankets. Nobody was there at pick up and I never received the appliance dolly or the moving pads but I was still charged for them. I spent an hour of my rental time trying to reach someone to get the the appliance cart and blankets as they were necessary, and I never received either. Service was a joke. I would not recommend uhaul after this.Garth T.

Truck was not very clean on the inside, I understand it's a rental truck but when your papers state " vehicle is clean " it usually means, vacuumed wiped down etc. This vehicle was dirty inside. Everything else was fine. Very nice guys at Mario & Sam's. They do provide good service and are very courteous, friendly and professional.jeff T.
