We were overcharged $20+ on a $70 bill for renting the van for 1 hour and 16 miles of use. The overcharge was $15 for insurance coverage which we told the person at time of pick up that we didn’t need (unfortunately, we didn’t discover the overcharge after we got home and reviewed the charges). The person also charged us $8+ for gas even though we added a gallon of gas to cover the 16 miles we drove the van. However, the person refused to take the gas charge off the bill and argued with us that the picture of the gas in the truck when we returned it did not match what was displayed in her system. If we need to rent a van or truck in the future, we will go elsewhere for the rental. And we will be sure to share our experience with friends and neighbors. The person made $20+ of extra revenue but destroyed customer satisfaction.
James LGreat people and Excellent Services Thank you
Anwar MThe only hiccup was that I dont believe that I was credited anything for bringing the truck back with more fuel than when I received the truck. Upon pick-up, the woman told me that an algorithm would review the miles I drove, the fuel level at checkout, and the fuel level at return and charge me for low fuel or credit me for high fuel. Didn't seem to happen, and I KNOW I would have been charged for every cent if the fuel level had been low.
Mark FI was charged for rental and loss of pads which I did not rent. I was charged for loss of a dolly which is still in the back of the van. I can document all with photos and videos time/date stamped. You can also see from the original van reservation that I did not reserve any pads. The location vendor must have added these items to the bill when I was not looking. He did not seem to know how to manage the system and he was helping other people at the same time with non uhaul items so I had to keep interrupting him. The van I got was not the van I was told I was getting based on reservation license plate number. I am submitting a fraud complaint with my credit card company. I trust uhaul to resolve this but must protect myself from being defrauded for pads and dolly.
