Make the rates more consistent. The rental last week was $1.19/ mile. The next week I was only charged $. 89/ mile for the same truck. I got the insurance the second time and the bill was still $25 cheaper. I feel like I should be entitled to $35 back or at least a $35 credit for next future rental as a good faith measure.Richard R.

Rented a truck and tow trailer at this location April 2019 and man working in mini mart was taking care of me in between other customers and then claimed his computer was down. It took 1 1/2 - 2hrs to complete transaction. Horrific customer service! Swore I would NEVER go back to this location. Due to no trucks at SML Storage/uhaul on Lakewood forest rd, out of desperation i rented a truck on line for Thursday 1/28/21 back at Moneta mart. I needed to change reservation due to snow/ice weather predicted and out of my control. I changed reservation on Wednesday evening 1/27/21 5-5:30p for Friday 1/29/21 on line. I confirmed my change on the phone with a representative that all remained the same except for pick up day and was told yes that is correct and was never informed of gas mileage rate change for changing the day until I did mobile check in to find out my mileage rate was significantly different. I called uhaul and rep told me to dispute upon return. I returned the truck 1/29/21 and informed lady inside at counter I was told to speak to someone upon return about disputing a charge and lady told me to call uhaul. I called and rep Tanya was very nice and very accommodating and rectified my issue with a field service supervisor and gave me a credit. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MONETA MART LOCATION TO ANYBODY!! The truck today was on location but covered in ice & snow & delayed my departure again.....1hr. Mobile check in old me to go inside on the left was the key. No key....lady inside had to get it from behind counter. What if they were not open? Mobile check in wouldn't work to obtain a key? Unfortunately, this location has a very bad reputation. Movers I hired said they experienced bad service there and would never go back, but spoke very highly and great things about SML storage location on Lakewood forest rd. SML Storage is the place to do business. I also have 2 storage units there for quite some time! Cindy is amazing!Lisa L.

Give better instructions/ details for newcomers once one arrive to the location.. I was uncertain if someone was going to meet me at the location, or go inside the store to speak to a cashier. As well as where to park my vehicle if need be? Knowing these questions in advance would be most helpful.Lisa A.

although Sandy was helpful, to rent this type trailer/hitch someone should be onsite with knowledge and ability to help I would say mileage to this site is 29 miles not 19. screw down for the ball needs service tires had a terrible bounce loaded or emptyJerry O.
It took over an hour to get my truck processed. The representative did not know how to use the computer system. A manager had to come in on her birthday day off to help. Then I was charged for equipment I didn't rent and I was told I could get it taken off at the drop off location. The drop off location told me they couldn't do it. Uhaul needs to have better customer service and a better website to manage the rental process.Alex G.

The lady who gave us our truck was very rude! She did not look at the ticket to see that it was already paid for and that their was 2 authorized drivers. She denied the truck to us and we had to call the 1-800# because she wanted to charge us twice! I will NEVER deal with the Moneta location EVER again. The staff member in charge of the rental process was so friendly, kind and very professional. He patiently waited till a sentence with a question was completed before responding with an answer. He was so customer friendly and he thanked us for our business. We will return when a rental is needed to this location and we will tell all friends/family this is the location to rent from. Have the tank full - not just this location - but all UHaul locations. Inconvenient to have to fill up immediately. I left $20 in the tank for free - not fair to the consumer!Kenneth K.
This was may first rental and drop off point after the rental. The process for the rental is not explained to the customer. This location tried to help with the return but UHaul wants the user to use their smart phone which took so long for me. Returning the trailer for me was a big headache. I guess if you rented the equipment a lot you would become more familiar with the procedures.DONALD L.
Picked up the trailer on Sunday. Did not know that the super long safety chains will be twisted up to the proper length. Returned it on Tuesday AOK. I was concerned to hear that the trailer rental portion might be terminated at the Marathon Station IF the Marathon employees will need to hook up trailers. This needs to be corrected as the RENTERS should all do it and carry the responsibility of doing it properly !! For me it was all smooth sailing. Clean and DRY furniture moved 260 miles for $85 bucks.Jeffrey B.

The location was a combo gas station / convenience store / U-Haul. The equipment drop-off location was at least 200 yds away. As such, the attendant in the gas station / store did not inspect my trailer at all.Gary I.

I was told at this location that I could not reserve a truck at the store and that I would need to reserve the truck online. I reserved the truck online with my credit card. I went to the store to pick the truck up and the cashier asked to swipe my credit card to reserve the truck after I clearly told him that I had already reserved the truck online. He assured me that this was protocol and they were only holding it until we returned the truck and that it would not be charged. In the end, I was charged twice and over charged by $34Teresa D.
Only one lady working and she kept having to wait on convenient store customers. She was having problems with the computer. No one to check the trailer lights or help me with hooking the trailer to my truck. The lady was very nice and apologetic. But I will never use that location again.George T.

I'm absolutely floored that, in order to get a truck that you don't have to drive almost an hour away from to pick up at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, you have to reserve 6 months in advance. That's what I was told when I called your customer service line. Does everyone know 6 months in advance that they'll be moving? Can you not get more trucks at that location? So let's talk about actually picking up my truck. I'm sent 45 minutes away to a gas station slapped in the middle of a run down old store in Bedford County, Virginia. The girl who is running the place has never done a Uhaul rental before, and is simultaneously trying to run a gas station at the same time. See the issue here? Her manager would not pick up the phone and we had issues with the system that she worked tirelessly to get it resolved, despite the fact that the Uhaul service line she called to get help hung up on her. I had rented a car tow dolly, furniture pads, and a utility dolly. This location had neither the utility dolly, nor the furniture pads. Thankfully I was given those by the storage unit in Roanoke. AMD speaking of storage, my unit has nice. But that's another issue entirely. This has been the worst experience and I highly doubt I'll ever be using Uhaul again.Sarah W.

Very convenient location to Smith Mountain Lake area on the Bedford County side of the lake. Lots of room to move around and hitch up equipment. Will use this location again in the future.Bob P.
