We were an hour late brining it back due to the bad weather. We were told we had to pay for another day. Fine, I get that, although I feel like maybe we could have had some leniency on that. We asked if we could return it and just keep the dolly for the day. We were told you can only rent the dolly with the truck....not true. We left the truck there and took the dolly for the day since we were paying for it anyhow. We kept the keys. We got a call about 2:00 to return the key to the truck. We had paid for it until 10am the next day, so we said no. The man was not too happy with that. They wanted the key so they could rent it out while we were still paying for it! The girl at the counter had no idea what she was doing. She had to call the main number several times for help. Could not give us a receipt. We had to wait almost an hour to return it because she had customers at the mini mart where these trucks were rented from and didn't know what she was doing anyhow. So we had to wait while she sold lottery tickets and beers to customers. HORRIBLE experience. We will NEVER rent from Uhaul again.Zachary A.

I reserved 24 moving blankets and 2 furniture dollies with the truck. About an hour before I was scheduled to pick up the truck, a person called me and said that he only had 12 moving blankets and 1 furniture dolly. I had to buy additional moving blankets and another furniture dolly. Not only did this cost me money, it cost me time and delayed my departure by over an hour. Moving is already stressful and this made it even more stressful as I had to find a store with these items. Very disappointing service from UHaul.Darryl H.

The truck smelled like a homeless person camped out in it for a week. It had sticky spilled soda all over the console and seats. It had dirty socks and a used face mask still in it. Marked the gas tank full but it only had 3/4 tank. I took a picture of the gas gauge with the mileage and showed it to the return location and they fixed it.Ty M.

Neither my wife, nor my son could understand the young man on the phone. When I arrived I found out why...his cell phone was also his wristwatch. But in fact I couldn't understand him very well in person. He marked the fuel at 7/8 but in reality it was at 5/8...a few gallons difference in that big tank.Jeffrey M.

Drug addicts laying on the ground outside. Just inside the front door blocking the entrance is a belligerent man with no mask reeking of alcohol who can't stand up demanding that EMS come. Store employee with no mask is standing next to this man blocking the entrance. In the back of the tiny store is a video slot machine which a woman is gambling on with her son who looks about 8. Took 30 minutes to check me in, asked me all the questions I had already answered online, couldn't find the keys, asked me to pay even tho I had already paid. While I wait various people with no masks keeping coming and going all buying beer (at 9am), some shouting at the belligerent homeless man at the door telling him he doesn't need EMS. Finally get to the parking lot. Every truck has day laborers lounging on the bumpers. Find my truck, take it, turns out the additional blankets I paid for weren't included.Nicholas W.

I was there 2 hrs.. got charged 3 or 4 times NOT including the correct one! 2 which are still there for 3 more days they say! ?? They were rude and couldn't answer any of my questions. I repeatedly kept telling the guy I was charged, he wouldn't listen and said I was being rude! Go figure.. he even kept talking over me to your reps saying it!. Didn't leave till about 4 when my reservation was at 2:15. He's calling the next morning around 10.. left a vm asking will I be there at 2 for "another customer" ?? are you kidding sir?!! There were roaches and other bugs in the back! There was not really any gas.. It was low already but as soon as I cranked up and started driving the gas light came on, I had to take a pic..I was in shock! The truck drove horrible and I was charged for another day of insurance not knowingly.. I will absolutely NEVER go back there!! Stress of moving is enough.. this added more and made my day horrible! Started off great. Both of the gentleman helped me find a deal that would save me money. However, I was told I would get my deposit back instantly. Got to the place to drop off and after waiting 20 minutes with Uhaul customer service over the phone he tells me two days before I receive deposit back. Hunh? Note: I needed this hundred dollars as it is budgeted for my food. Two days later, still no deposit. Call Uhaul Customer Service and the lady tells me 3-5 days. Now that is three different time frames I have received over three days. Pros: Clean/improved trucks. Nice employees. Cons: False advice/information. One thing you don't do is play with hard working peoples money. You don't know if they have kids or what.Darius W.

The vehicle had not been cleaned and the windscreen was very dirty. The U-haul rep appeared to be over-worked but was quite pleasant and helpful. The transmission needs to be checked for shifting at low speeds.James K J.
This location was TERRIBLE! I do not recommend anyone go to this location without some type of protection and another person (or 2). There were people doped up on drugs walking in the convenient store that the truck has to be dropped off to. Loiterers surrounded the building and anyone would feel very uncomfortable going to this location!Blake T.
1) Send them to a facility closer to their moving location. This was a little open front store. It was not in a very safe area of town and day workers looking for jobs kind of mobbed us at first. 2) Clean truck thoroughly. Cashier didn't know about mobile check-in, so she took 10 minutes calling U-Haul to ask for help. Location was sketchy, truck was dirty and smelled like smoke. I reserved a dolly and blankets, which weren't in the truck when I picked it up. Had to call customer service and go to another location to get my items.Miller B.
We first went to the location in Denton TX to pick up our reserved uhaul. The people there had no clue what they were doing and had to call uhaul customer service multiple times. They also told us they couldn't guarantee our cars safety and to park it somewhere else! Also did not have the appliance dolly they said they would have. After almost 30 minutes we cancelled our order and drove to Fort Worth to pick up the dryer and went to above mentioned location. They also didn't have an appliance dolly like we were told they would. We took the uhaul anyways because we needed to transport the dryer back to Denton. We were told for the one way it is a different price than drop off at same location. Which was fine. We asked multiple times if there was a mileage fee like on the trucks for in town and they said no, it's a flat fee we pay when we pick the truck up instead of when dropping off. After dropping off we were told we needed to pay extra money! Which we didn't because the drop off location felt so bad for us they took care of it for us!Katharina D.

Clerk didn't know how to process uhaul rentals. Had to wait for her to contact owner via cell phone and then had to converse with owner through the clerk over cell phone. Clerk was very nice though. I denied insurance coverage and was still charged. I tried to explain this when charges were presented to me but it was lost somewhere from me to the clerk to the cell phone to the owner.Adam G.

The truck had furniture cushions and blankets in it as though someone had been living in there. The smell was terrible. Once I had opened up the truck it was already after the store had closed so I couldn't take it back and I had to move that day. When I told the woman at the store about this when I returned the truck she said that someone must have left something in there after they moved (which would mean that they don't inspect the trucks after they are dropped off). I told her that she smell was terrible and it seemed more like someone had been living in there. She didn't seem to care at all.Malaika A.

We reserved the truck at Alta Mesa location for a reason. We were shocked when we arrived and found that our truck was located in a very inconvenient location. We were never informed of the location change, unless the person who called to confirm did that - we could not understand much of what he said so it may have been lost due to poor communications. This was entirely inconvenient and caused a real burden and extra mileage. We will not use U=Haul again!Jim P.

Absolute worst experience. Booked the uhaul a week before online and chose another location because of the bad reviews from this location. The morning I went to pick up the truck at the other location they tell me oh it's actually at the other location. No one sent me an email or anything to tell me it was at this location. Finally I arrive at this place and there are homeless men and others hanging around the place, 2 standing â€˜guard' at the door. Felt extremely unsafe. The girl at the counter had no idea what she was doing, had to call someone to figure out how to get me the truck. 30 mins later we go out to get the truck, beer cans sitting on the back of it, and we drive off. We get to my place to load and there was a padlock still on the back of the truck. Drove back to the convienience store and took another 20mins for her to find the padlock keys. I thought it was over after I had finished loading my things in the truck when I get a phone call from uhaul saying that they are going to report this truck as stolen because the girl didn't finish the contract correctly and needed me to return with my credit card ( which had already been charged). I said heck no and they had a manager call me and sort it out over the phone and gave me 50$ off for my trouble. Turns out the girl had charged me for someone else's reservation! Moral of the story I do not recommend this place to anyone. It was awful from the beginning and it made my trip 2 hours behind schedule.Bryston S.

First the location has slot machines in the front, not sure if that is legal. When we went to look the truck over before taking it there was a homeless man sleeping in the front cab. The lady wasn't sure how to switch trucks, surely we didn't want to truck that the guy was sleep in (it smelled like urine and beer). That took an extra 10-15 min. The truck we did get was dirty and smell so the lady provided up with blankets and used bottle of air freshener. When returning the truck back another guy that was outside hanging by the trucks told my kids he would shot us all! To sum it up the location is horrible and I wouldn't have been able to do it if my boyfriend wasn't there with me.Keshia W.
The place took 45 minutes to get the truck ready and didnt have the dolly we reserved. The lady behind the counter was terribly slow and lost my license twice. The man working there was rude as all get out and when I told him that we needed a dolly and it had been paid for he said too bad. This place is a black eye on UHaul and should be shut down. This was literally a convenience store in poor repair with gambling machines and only 1 truck available in a terrible part of town. I had rented a dolly and the man renting me the uhaul said "sorry, we don't have that here". Further more he just handed me the keys and did not show me how to use anything. Only after I had a hard time getting it started did he come out and then drove it around the block.Christina T.

This location was incredibly unsettling. I would not get out of the truck until my ride pulled up next to me and I could jump in. The staff at this location had no idea what to do with the keys I gave them, and told me "just leave it here and I guess I'll take responsibility for whatever happens." I highly do NOT recommend this facility for anyone's UHaul needs. First, the location itself is surrounded by people who are either on drugs or asking for money before you even enter into the store. Once we did get inside, we were hoping to be in and out within 10-20 minutes but instead, was there for an hour because the young kid behind the desk had no idea how to book someone in for a truck and had to FaceTime someone else to help him twice. We asked several times how much longer this was going to take and he kept saying that he was done and then would take another 20 minutes. Once we finally did get outside to do the "walkthrough" of the vehicle, this kid took us over to the largest truck they had. We had to remind him that we only paid for the smaller truck however if we wanted to, we could've easily have taken advantage of his mistake and scored a huge deal. I will never be back nor would I recommend anyone else to go unless they have all of the time in the world to spare and don't value their own safety much.jennifer R.
