Don't change drop off location last minute. I was never made aware this could happen and then I'm suppose to watch for texts from you last minute to know where to drop off? Then staff at the original location is rude and unhelpful. Just saying â€œ we can't take the truckâ€. Not offering me a solution. Will not rent from uhaul again because of this.Jason R.

The vehicle broke down and they couldn't find a tech to work on the vehicle. I had hired movers to help me and this cost me $100 per hour while I waited. I ultimately drove the vehicle although I was hesitant to do so. Horrible experience. Also, they didn't have the blankets nor dolly that I reserved ahead of time.Justin N.

The folks who run this place could not be nicer. However, the truck we rented was not in great shape. I had a very scary ride down Highway 18 during my move. The headlights barely work and there were moments on the road, especially where there are no street lights, where I had almost zero visibility. The breaks are very squeaky on the truck and required a lot of pressure to stop. Additionally, the windshield wipers are very worn down. Since it was raining, this made it very hard to see. While the customer service is excellent, I would recommend maintaining the vehicle a little better. I am a single mom and had both my children in the car and there were some very stressful moments between the dull headlights and the fact that the wipers hardly touched the rain. It was down right dangerous to be driving this vehicle at night, with heavy rain and wet road conditions.ASHLEY S.

Just dropped off my key. They didn't ask which truck it was, check it out for damage, or actually â€œcheck it inâ€ until I called the next day to the customer service department who checked it in for me. This is a crappy way to conduct business. Very poor service.Joan M.
I reserved a 26' truck then received a phone call from someone named Helen at the Kent, WA regional location who informed me (the night before our scheduled family move that a 26' truck was not available. She was very unprofessional and not willing to offer any solutions. Helen informed me that they give priority to local customers that are bringing the trucks back to the same location before they schedule one way truck rentals. We had to scramble and started making calls to Uhaul only to get routed back to the same offer (where Helen is located). That person was helpful but we still had to travel half way to our destination then drive all the way back again before we could start moving. It's a very poor policy for U haul to take a reservation and a credit card payment then let the customer know the night before a major event like a family move that there in no truck available. When I arrived I signed in and waited for 25 minutes to be approved and be given directions to get key-I kept texting asking for assistance and was never replied to. I finally called the 800 number and they couldn't help me or give me directions and continued to be placed on hold. After almost an hour, I called a local Uhaul from a friends phone and she quickly told me to go into the store that was on the same property and they will give me a key. Once I was given that information, everything was very quick. That process did not need to take an hour. If only the texts I was sending were replied to, or if the 800 could have told me that info, this would have been a good system. This put my move an hour behind with several people at my house waiting on me. This was the WORST experience I've had customer service wise. A manager finally came on the phone after I demanded to talk to one, she was very casual like it wasn't a big deal and said someone would be calling me to discuss this matter and I am still waiting for this to happen. I feel I should be compensated for my time and inconvenience. This isn't anything I've ever asked a company to do, but I feel it is an appropriate request at this time.Carmen S.

Incompetent person when renting. Rates now are ridiculous. Asked for at least a 20 foot box length. It was shorter by at least 2 feet. I had truck for less than 4 hours and between exorbitant mileage add on rate plus the gas used the $38.99 per day rate my cost was close to $140. Never again.Allen C.

Corporate HQ changed my pick-up location to a tobacco store on Marvin Rd. Olympia, WA. They had almost no boxes nor blankets. This was the second time in one month that my pick-up location Was changed to a less desirable location. U-Haul is forcing their customers to do extra run around, at the last minute, during hectic move times, to obtain the necessary supplies and equipment. Stop doing that!Freckleton R.

The back of the truck had what seemed to be thousands for sewing needles on the floor that I had to clean up before loading. There was a loose panel on the floor that had an edge sticking up that got caught on my furniture when sliding in. Someone left dozens of moving blankets in the attic. The receipt indicated I drove 11 miles round trip. I put 1.5 gallons in tank, but was charged for 2.5 additional gallons by Uhaul. I called a disputed but the manager would not budge. Tell me how 11milea would equate to 4 gallons gas when according to your website they average 10milea per gallon. I guess Uhaul is claiming the truck got less than 3 miles per gallon based on the gas charge?Erin L.

Dropped off the truck same day and they never check it in good thing I had someone from another store looking out after me because I would've gotten charge twice. When I call they played dumb as if the keys were never dropped off and then I was kept getting asked if I dropped of the keys and I kept saying yes. Eventually they said they'll go check on the truck, now I have another receipt saying that they charged me again to what I already paid and basically charged me for another day when the trucks has been in their lot since the day I took it out.Klaus V.

the agent did not offer to help disconnect or even come out when auto transport was returned. The Uhaul had us drop off trailer at one location and truck at another. This company needs to have better communication between their agents for sure. Also teach them better social skills and customer service would be beneficial. Uhaul believes in the policy that the customer needs them and doesn't seem to care to treat the customers with the respect they need and deserve at a time that is stressful for them already!larry C.

It would help if the location took customers out and showed them which truck was their's. There wasn't a walk through and the truck hadn't been closely inspected because the gas line was disconnected, I only realized this when I tried to fill the truck at the end of the night and gas spilled all over the gas station...I was charged a $40 fee for not filling up the truck. A check engine light was on the whole time and several error messages were popping up on the dashboard. Odometer was 50,000 mies less than what they had recorded at pick up, which made after hours drop-off difficult!Caitlin H.

I had pre-checked in on my computer before picking up the truck, but it still took a good 20 minutes for them to dispatch the vehicle to me. The last user had not done a good job of sweeping out the truck, so I had to vacuum the cargo area before loading my household items on board.david C.

I made a reservation online and had confirmation. When I got to the location the app couldn't find my reservation. I called uhaul customer service but couldn't reach an agent. I called the agent who was in charge of the location and had to leave him a message. I sat and waited for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the truck I reserved. I finally received a call back and was told my reservation couldn't be found but I could go into the smoke shop to have it processed. When I went in I was not greeted, and when I was acknowledged they acted like I was inconveniencing them to have to take care of a uhaul order. As I was attempting to rent the truck she was taking smoke shop customers as they came in. She kept walking away from me to take care of customers, which I thought was completely rude because I also was a paying customer. I finally got a truck and she told me I would need to have it back by 6pm the next day because that was my original reservation time, I told her it is now 7pm because my reservation issues and waiting for her to get the truck processed, and she informed me I would have a late fee if I brought it back after 6pm the next day. The next day I returned the truck by 6pm. I have since been charged the full amount for the 24 hours which doesn't seem fair as I was only allowed to have it for 23 hours. I also never received the bill for what fees were being charged, so I have no idea what they claimed on mileage or gas level. I honestly feel like I tried to do everything possible to make my move easy and uhaul was not on board with that. I feel like based on their customer service and on their location service, I will not be recommending them to anyone I know who is moving.Ruth-Ann J.
