the headlights on the van were aimed at the ground 20' from the front bumper and not much brighter than the parking lights. When I got to the site after driving through a rain shower there was water running down the drivers side wall of the cargo area.

The site was great to work with. My overall frustration is that I was told less than 2 hours before my pickup time that the pickup location was changed, the truck we were getting was 5 feet shorter, and our allotted miles had been halved. The location change was no big deal, but I specifically rented the larger truck a month in advance since I knew they were in high demand. I was able to get our miles back after about an hour on the phone with corporate. Additionally, even if these changes were necessary, we should have been contacted at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements. I felt like your company let me down with many aspects of this experience, and I will be checking into other companies before my next move.

The customer service I had was fantastic at each location and on the phone. The fact that 24 hours before my pick up UHaul changed my truck, didn't have the size I needed, and I ended up with a smaller truck and trailer which were dropped off at two different locations - not so fantastic. Had I been given more notice, I could have made other arrangements. As it was, it created a lot of extra stress, which wasn't needed moving to a different town on the other side of the mountain. Quite frankly, I am hesitant to use UHaul again.

When I picked the vehicle up , there was no walk around inspection to verify condition of vehicle, no rental contract or insurance paperwork given to me to have on hand in case of being stopped by police or in case of an accident, I had to provide an odometer reading from the beginning of my trip for mileage verification, upon return of the rental of truck, they would not take cash for payment of rental, instead I had to deposit it in my account and hope it wouldn't bounce back as an nsf charge and currently have an extra charge of 56.99 pending on my account after the bill was paid, contacted the rental place this evening and supposedly it will be redeposited in my account. I have never had this happen before renting a u-haul truck and probably won't go back to that location. We will see if this gets resolved in a timely fashion.

Do not charge customer twice, although this was fixed a few days later. When tow dolly had problems, the location to serve us for a replacement had no notice about our coming to get it. Not the Canby location's fault, but we had issues crop up everywhere. Truck was dirty and not well maintained; screws fell out of right door fascia.

Representative was unprofessional. He did not show me how to use the truck, just parked it and handed me the keys. The truck was dirty, broken window handle, and the oil light came on while driving.

The online check in process left no place to pick up my blankets and hand trucks also rented on my reservation. There were 5 blankets haplessly thrown in the truck upon pickup (good thing I opened the back and checked). I had ordered 24. I think I left with less than 24 as the young man who came out with a new stack put some more back there but I never saw him Or anyone else count them. It was late afternoon. I had already been there a while trying to do the online checkin process... Upon return the drop off location called to tell me that I only had returned 18 blankets. I told him “I returned the exact amount that I had been given”. I have not heard anything since then but this leaves me with an uneasy feeling that I will get some kind of new charge on my credit card for some very cheap blankets. I have rented U-Haul for over 20 years now. Trucks and trailers. I believe the online checking process could be the best thing ever if the locations can have the trucks ready for the customer with the proper order of dollies etc before hand. It was not contactless and this could have exposed me and my elderly mother to covid. The whole point of contactless checkin was to avoid this kind of direct contact.

The staff seemed to not understand their rental software and I waited an hour to complete my rental. The staff also gave me incorrect information about what size hitch ball would work for the 5'x8' trailer (they claimed only a 2" ball would work, when it clearly states on the trailer itself that a smaller hitch will also work). The staff did not perform a walk-around with me or prompt me to fill out a damages form prior to signing the rental agreement or taking the trailer off premises -- I only saw this in an email after I had completed the pick-up. Also, I asked several times to buy ten uhaul boxes, but the staff were so distracted by their inability to use the rental software that in the end they forgot to sell me the boxes. I had already been waiting for an hour so I chose not to bring it up a fourth time. However, the staff were friendly and professional. They just did not seem to know the rental/pickup procedure very well.

It was a little difficult finding the key drop off. I would reccomend having the drop off near the Uhaul trucks. The grop off is up at the furniture store, not where the Uhaul trucks are located.

The location I picked it up from was fine. But it did me no good to make a reservation. Uhaul called me the day before I was leaving and told me they didn't have me the truck I needed. And the truck they gave me was to small. And I ended up exchanging it for a bigger trailer which made the trip longer.

No one was available at the uhaul desk and upon return i was instructed to leave the keys and they would get it checked in. I then received a call 5 days later that the truck had yet to be checked in, but they verified the return date and took care of it.

The pick up process was slightly archaic. It was over complicated and took too long. We used up a paid hour of rental time for waiting on verification. The truck was also wet on the inside from a small leak so we had to fix that before we could start. We love uhual, but this time wasn't a great experience.
