Testimonials from recent customers of Pennington Citgo
The staff was very customer focused and friendly. However, only one of the two staff at the gas station had even a little knowledge about how to process the rental and he struggled a lot to figure out how the U-Hall online system worked. This was the gas pump attendant. The clerk behind the counter had no idea of how to do the rental. It took about 5 tries for him to figure out how to set-up the rental. They need training. As far as the van, it was clean enough but one headlight was out, the low tire pressure warning light was on, and they did not have the furniture blankets that we had ordered with the van. My son's apartment lease was ending and we had no choice but to still take the rental. We opted to drive the van with the high-beam headlights on so that we had 2 working lights.
The van key was not available when I arrived and I had to wait for the office to be unlocked so the key could be retrieved. When I finally accessed the van, the low tire pressure ight was on, and when I brought this to the staff's attention, they added air to the tires. The owner of the location then asked me to bring the van to a local tire center to have the tire repaired at my expense, and he promised to reimburse me. I refused. He then tried adding more air to the tires two more times and promised that "everything should be fine." He also apologized for he delay and vowed to remove 1 then 2 hours from my reservation for the delay and hassle (more on that later). The owner also exchanged cell numbers in case I had any issues and called to see how things were going, and assumed that the tire light went off after driving, it did not. He then assumed that there must be an issue with the sensor, but the vehicle is fine. By this time it has been 90 min, I had a dedicated move out window for my building and due to the ridiculousness of the start to the reservation I missed it. I then had to try to complete my move while others were using their allotted move-in windows. I returned the van promptly the next morning at the end of the reservation, and the location owner was not present nor was the refund for the 2 hours that he promised. I have rented form U-haul previously and had an excellent experience at a different location. I will NEVER rent from this location again. The tire pressure light remained on for the entirety of my use of the vehicle, which is disconcerting to say the least while driving on highways for 40+ miles in each direction.
The associates were friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer any questions, made it so easy to pick up and drop the rental off Made my move a less stressful day The vehicle was easy to drive and it was great to have the hand truck to use All I wished for that wasn't part of the van would have been a ramp somehow attached for easier loading and unloading

Picking up the vehicle was difficult because there was a glitch on my registration for the vehicle (someone else's photo ID picture was with my name). Additionally, either the WIFI or the Samsung tablet device used to sign in was slow and would timeout or be unresponsive when we tried to move from step to step. The Citgo employees were helpful and sympathetic to the difficulties with the technology, though, and eventually we successfully completed registration.
The staff at the location were very nice. My issues may be with the UHaul processes. I did the pre-checkin the day before and it was not user friendly. Had to repeat steps and even when complete the location did not seem to have all the info needed to expedite the on site check in. Also the vehicle had a headlight on which caused a dash warning to be displayed.
