DO NOT USE ONLINE RENTAL !!!!!! It was a COMPLETE PAIN IN THE ASS!!!! call locations directly and reserve trucks do NOT use online ...it sucks!!!! I was on phone 4 times with customer service. You need 2 different phone numbers, someone to verify you, etc. It took over 2 hours before I could get keys to truck. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!Lester R.

There was an oily substance all of the floor of the cargo area of the truck. Also, the AC vents in the cab didn't work. I do want to commend the owner of the Chatham rental facility for calling me in advance to provide further instructions â€” he is a very thoughtful and helpful person.DARIN EDWARD J.

Check tire pressures and safety chain connections between customers. One tire on the car trailer I rented was low on air pressure, and a previous customer had tangled up the safety chains in an unsafe manner. I noticed both items and fixed them without issue, but other customers might not...Steven G.

We had a misunderstanding at check in late at night, uhaul was closed and the site indicated we were charged a 2 day rental. As soon as Rich the owner received word this morning he called immediately and assured we were only charged the 1 day. We appreciate that immediate follow up thank you Rich !MIREILLE C.
I will start by saying Richie did a great job. I attempted to pick up my 15' truck with a self-pickup. The system could not find my location, despite repeatedly turning the location services on, and restarting my phone. I attempted to do that both on safari and by downloading chrome. Still nothing. Then I downloaded the U-Haul app. Didn't work. Then I called the help desk and was told to wait 10-15 minutes. After 20 minutes went by and I still haven't spoken to someone, I tried to use the live chat, which also didn't work. Fortunately, by the time all this had transpired, an entire hour had passed, which meant my pick up had â€œexpiredâ€, such that after all that fun I trying to pick up a truck, Richie was able to check me in himself rather than trying to go through all this myself. Richie did a good job. Your website is one of the worst I've experienced in a long time.Eric M.

The local contact and office was excellent. He was helpful and even contacted me ahead of time. The issue I had was with the entire system. I booked my reservation online and the local office contacted me a few days before the rental date to let me know that there wouldn't be a truck available even though I had a confirmed reservation. There was a shortage of trucks not accurately reported in the system. I had to change the moving day last minute which meant taking off from work and also not being able to use the two movers I reserved through the U-Haul system.Gary K.
We asked for assistance and for a specific safety measure that was referenced in the Uhaul trailer attachment video to help secure the tow, however were told they didn't know what we were taking about. This caused lots of issues when trying to return the tow and having great difficulty getting the chains released. Customer service was not helpful at the location. Also had a random after hour service fee added to our bill with no explanation. We did not use any after hour services.MELISSAA H.

The 24/7 software ran EXTREMELY slow. Also, it took several trips into the service bay before the attendant told us to turn off the cell phone then reboot and try the process again. NOT mentioned in your literature. This return took almost 1 HOUR! A similar problem occured with a previous rental at another U-Haul location. Used U-Haul for convenience? Will travel a little farther for my next rental with a different company.Courtney M.

Your online drop off system sucks. Wouldn't accept my location from iphone and no way to manually input it. Without that, no way to complete the drop off process. Put on hold at your 800 service number for 10+ minutes then told â€œthere is a problem, call back laterâ€ and call ended. Never got to speak to a real person. After having a true NIGHTMARE experience using the poorly functioning U-Haul on line app at the Fairview Avenue location. I was rescued by Rich in Chatham location. He saved the day.MARGARETDANETTE K.

Was the truck clean? It hadn't been through a car wash, there was a ( spilled coffee?) stain on the console, Doritos and an empty soft drink can on the floor. I was only allowed to submit one photo. This location closed at 11AM. I began making phone calls to U-Haul shortly before that time to make sure that I would be able to pick up the truck at 2 PM. The original renter was also trying to get answers at the same time. There seemed to be some confusion , as different people at U-Haul gave us different answers. Rich was helpful in giving me the number for Dispatch/traffic control in Albany, NY. Eventually, when I tried to pick up the truck, Kim at that location gave me the access code for the key box after spending almost another hour entering and re-entering my info, numbers, etc. only to have my session expire multiple times and being told they couldn't verify my location (location services on my device were turned on.) I arrived there by 2PM and left there about 3PM. The process was difficult and time was wasted. We were told it would be simple to have an alternate driver pick up the truck for the original renter, who was over four hours away. After I picked up the truck, the contract was in my name. It would be great if you could get all of your personnel on the same page.David G.

Because a truck I rented wasn't available at the location I rented it at customer service set me up with the same truck at a different location over 20 miles away. At that time they agreed to adjust the mileage charge to compensate me for the mileage and inconvenience, I agreed. When I went to pick it up the website charged me the original mileage over double what they had told me. When I spoke to someone at the site he informed me that is the way it was because he was the only U-Haul place around and the he owned the other 2 they were locale. He also informed me I could not leave a vehicle while I had the truck. Even though he may be the only game in town I am searching other places because I have to move again in about 12 weeks this was a temporary move while we renovate our own home, I do not want that experience again.Randy R.
