I spoke with guy earlier in day about the distance I was travelling and traffic was an issue. Guy Said it was okay as he would be there til 7:30. He contacted me Shortly after 7 as I was readying to bring truck back and I questioned which location is closer...again referred to what felt like across town. I told guy on my way and stopped for gas. I found the place by a sign on the side of a small variety store. It was closed and he had left knowing I was on my way and he didn't think to call me to find out how close I was. Once checked vehicle in I was being charged extra. However I spoke with Head Office and they were able to correct the matter and issue back my full refund. I will not be using small uhaul locations anymore and will use main Uhaul centres!Marcia R.

HI, this may have nothing to do with the location but I requested two dollies to use during move day and the U-Haul did not have them when I picked up â€” I was sent to a U-Haul location in my city to pick up some rental dollies and when I arrived, they were also out. It was a waste of my time. The move took me twice as long as I expected without dollies and when I went to extend my rental time (drop off was 9pm) I could not find any option for that online or logging into my account or by asking the online help person â€” I sat on the phone on hold trying to reach someone for an hour and finally gave up. So overall, not a great experience with U-Haul.Eva S.

Ive rented several Uhaul vechiles and never had a problem until now. Shaw's Variety rented me a truck that hardly drove and was dirty. I get the bill almost a week later and it was for $122 because he included insurance, a dolly rental and a furniture pad rental. I did not ask for any of those things and they were not even in yhe truck anyhow. That truck should not be on the road and Shaws needs to stop trying to scam.Victoria S.

1. Truck booked was not available. So we had to take a smaller truck. Now U-haul says I have to pay for the extra fuel and mileage because we had to make 2 trips. In other words, U-HAUL SAYS IT IS MY FAULT THAT THE TRUCK I BOOKED 2 WEEKS AHEAD WAS NOT THERE. 2. U-haul is charging me a wrong destination fee. I HAVE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS TO PROVE THAT U-HAUL--after they changed my pick up destination 3 TIMES!!!--told me to TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TO CALEDONIA. What in the name of all that is righteous are you guys doing? What a bunch of screw-ups. 3. Cab of the INCORRECT TRUCK that I was forced to take (5 ft. shorter than the truck I booked) had a lot of garbage left in it. Mostly food wrappers. 4. The gentleman who gave me the key and contract ALSO GAVE ME THE NAME OF THE CUSTOMER WHO REFUSED TO BRING MY TRUCK BACK (the truck I had booked.) I have used uhaul a ton of times And this is the WORST experience! He was so rude and called me a liar! I was told because I was only going 2KM, that I could pay a $50 deposit..but when we got there,he wouldn't let us leave without $100! Fine. We paid it! THEN HE QUOTES ME $65 AND 10 MILES!! I'm literally moving down the street. I was told from TWO other uhauls it would be NO MORE THAN $50! INCLUDING GAS! I'm good at math and that is right! $29.95 for truck, .69 a km (we drove 2.5), and no more than $6 gas!! My husband went to pay yesterday and IT'S $77!!!!!!! HE CHARGED ME FOR 10 MILES AND I DROVE 2.5KM!!!!! HOW IS THIS FAIR! I DESERVE MY $20 BACK! I USE YOU GUYS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, AND IF I DONT GET MY MONEY BACK..IM TAKING MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!! We needed to get the key from Shaw's Variety store but he had a sign up saying 'back in 45 minutes'. He returned 55 minutes later, after we had to wait that whole time in the hot sun because we didn't want to miss him. The van was great and the U-Haul system of renting is great but this location was awful. An hour just waiting to. Get keys, and he would not answer his phone. He should not be a U-Haul location, makes you guys look very bad.Kaja R.

Rented cart was missing. Subbed appliance cart, but wanted smaller utility cart. Asked for info multiple times. Truck parked very poorly. Had to go back for cart and blankets, as they were originally left out. Overall a terrible experience, as online checkin was completed and it still took 40 minutes in store. Will do everything in my power to avoid renting from uhaul again in the future as a result.Brent K.

The representative was very attentive. I have 24/7 share option but the website was not working at that time so the person in the store helped me to complete my pick up. When I dropped the rental I used the 24/7 share and it was quick and easy. The location is good, gotta have a good parking skills though as the space is a little tight. Renting the UHAUL is cost, Cost for daily fee, cost for mileage, and cost for gas. In my case I have just paid over twenty dollars because the sign on the car' s screen does' t work. I had a reservation at a location on 180 Queen St. Hamilton prior to picking up at 1256 King St.Hamilton but when I arrived at Queen St. and that operator told me that the truck I rented would not start so I was sent 5 miles out of my way. One way was 5 miles - 10 miles round trip. I should be rating that first operator also as I dealt with both of them.Robin F.

We have used U-Haul several times in the last two years, both of our parents sold homes and moved into condos and two of our children moved into their own homes, each time we have picked up at a U-Haul centre, as the option for this little place, which was so much closer to home was not made available. THIS WAS BY FAR, the best experience yet. The man at Shaws Variety was SOOOOOO incredibly helpful and personable. If we ever rent again, we'll request this location... Thank you SHAWS!dana M.

I requested a pickup location in Burlington and was given one in Hamilton. This location was significantly out of my way and the way of those helping me and it was not appreciated. In addition, Hamilton is an unfamiliar city to me, which added additional stress to driving a much-larger-than-usual vehicle. I understand that the requested location is not always available, but another location in the same city as the requested location would have been nice.Colleen C.

The initial rental experience was good, but when the truck was dropped off nobody was there to receive it and then I receive a phone call the next day asking if I returned it and then my receipt says it was returned at 11:00 this AM, over 12 hours later!? I also used very little fuel and when we returned the truck we left it with more fuel than we started out with yet was still charged over $8.00 for fuel. I have rented 2 trucks from uhaul once in 2007 and this week and both times I have not received the truck I ordered. Last time I got a smaller truck then ordered and this time too big.
