Pickup was originally scheduled for 9AM at East Mission RD. Unfortunately no one was there at the designated time and phone calls to their phone number were unaccepted. Fortunately, I remembered that the also had the 418 W. Aviation location and that there was someone there who could fulfill the rental. I lost one hour of truck availability and incurred an extra hour cost for the movers I contracted for. Not a good way to run an operation.Michael C.

On jan. 15 I rented a truck via online already paid and pre checked in making sure that my truck was going to be guaranteed. Going a one way trip to the San Fernando Valley. However, I needed to drive about 2 hrs. to this location because I was picking up some furniture within the area. Upon arriving they tell me that the person that has my rental was SUPPOSED to have returned it. So they call that person over the phone and to my surprise they extended their rental till Wednesday. This was happening on a Saturday. Wait a minute! Uhaul let's people extend just like that without any warnings in advance? Isnt there a disclaimer about that? So what about the customer that paid for that rental in advance and pre checked in? You would think they would have extra rentals? Surprise surprise! They didn't! And because they DIDN'T have any extras with a lot full of trucks. They called two different locations to see if they can get me what I had rented and they were able to have an upgraded truck from one of those locations at no charge.Of course to my surprise I had to drive another 30 minutes further. The only problem was that the location was already closed so I had to go through the uhaul 24/7 website to RE DO a contract so that I can get a 4digit code to unlock a key box so that I can get the key for the truck. Sounds simple right? Wrong? This situation by far has been the worse one I have ever been involved as a customer. Why couldn't they have just done this process for me seeing as none of this was not my fault to begin with. Why couldn't they just have given me the four digit code from the original place I was supposed to get my truck from in the first place. I spent over 3 More hours trying to figure out why my contract reference number was not being recognized on the website. I called two different 1800 numbers to get assistance regarding this 2nd problem that I was put through. And yet I still couldn't get access to the key box. I finally get transferred to the right department that was able to walk me through step by step on what to do and how to get the access I needed to get my truck. I was supposed to have my rental by 4pm. It is now 7pm when this happened. And yet I still had to drive to the location to go pick up my furniture to load up. And then drive another 3-4 more hours back to the San Fernando Valley because now I have a bigger truck that needs to be driven a a slower and safer speed and I had to stop by and fill up the truck with fuel becauseit hardly had any. Talk about busting a mission. Once again the worst customer experience I have ever gone through. And to think that I always go through uhaul whenever I go through moving transitions because of their popularity. And good experiences i had in the past. If this is how they represent the brand at this location. Than I think things need to be addressed. Specially when your rental is guaranteed upon paying and checking in advanced. Thanks to this experience i will now focus on other moving rental companies even if i have to pay a little more so that I can get the guaranteed that I'm going to get what I PAID for. I hope that this review shows the lack of interest that the employee gave me in this whole situation. I mean why would he. They already got my money. And they already got the other person that extended he's money as well right! For the record I will be moving mid February and now I have no intentions in renting with them ever again. I received a phone call while at the facility stating there was no truck for me. There were 2 trucks there.The call added to the stress of moving day. It would have been super upsetting if a truck hadn't been there for me. People depend on U-Haul to have a truck for them on the day they NEED it. The guys at Smog Bros are awesome & I can only imagine the flak they get when people make reservations & no truck.JAREL W.

Possibly work to instill a higher level of professionalism in your employees. They were friendly enough and seemed to have knowledge of what was going on; but, their appearance could have been better and the cleanliness seemed a little lacking considering other Uhaul stores I have been too and done business with.GEORGE R.

The truck was visually unstained paint wise and looked old. The driver door didn't shut properly, the steering was not steady and felt a little hard to control. The representative working there was very courteous and professional. The establishment was extremely unmtaintained and disorganized to the point that I felt a little unsafe even being there. The parking lot had a homeless man living in his half covered car and the area smelled like cat poop. Lasty, I was charged $50.00 in fuel/fuel service fees for using 1/8 tank of gas.Johnathan W.

Smog Bros (and Gonzalez Rentals) were awesome- if not for Josue and Carlos, my move day would have been a bust. uhaul, on the other hand, has been less than awesome. The scheduling and reservation process seems to be more of a suggestion then an actual reservation. I ended up having to drive more than 50 extra miles to get the truck that I reserved close to my house. (These are miles for which I was charged $1.19 each, and paid the extra gas. Uhaul refunded $50 to me b/c they didn't honor my reservation, but the $50 didn't even cover the mileage they charged me extra because I went from an A to B move and had to use an in-town. If you book with uhaul, I guess you just need to budget for 150% of whatever is quoted.Anthony G.
Advise the dealer personnel not to continually call the customer requesting the trailer be returned because he has another person that wants the trailer after I spoke with U-Haul and advised them I was keeping the trailer an extra day or two. I believe that is poor customer service.david M.

I would NEVER rent a uhaul truck again. We reserved a truck 3 weeks prior to our move and hired movers through the uhaul website. At 8pm the night before our move they contacted us and did not have a truck in ANY location close to our house (which is 5 cities) Office closed at 7-called the national number and they could do NOTHING! We got a smaller truck, had to drive 30miles to pick up and drop off because they would NOT let us drop off at any other 5cities closer. They did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make this right. I even called the Murrieta location at 7am in morning of our move- they said they would look into it and call me back! 3days later and still NO call back!Christian D.

15 foot one-way truck I reserved for 9 a.m. Sunday morning was rented out Saturday afternoon for local use and did not get returned in time for me to use it. I was forced to chose between waiting for 2 plus hours for the truck to be returned or take a 10 foot truck. Since I had helpers waiting and a departure deadline, I took the 10 foot truck and left some of my belongings in Oceanside..In addition, I was charged the same rate for the 10 foot truck that I had contracted for the 15 foot truck. I have rented 5 one way truck rentals from CA to OR this yeare, and this was by far my worst experience. I have a few more one-way trips to make and I will now consider other truck rental companies.Charles Leroy Jr F.

Overall I had a really good experience the two gentlemen that I came in contact with were extremely nice and helpful they got me right in and write out no complications at all. I was very pleased with their service small little minor detail the truck that I rented was not clean at all but then again I was moving furniture so it really didn't bother me but maybe for some people the cleanliness might not be as important! I would definitely recommend them again or if I need to rent a truck I know exactly where to come thanks guys for all your helpSamantha L.
