Valero was great. I had a truck reserved at the station on Soquel and Main St. They didn't have my truck ready and no idea when one would be there, they tried to collect money and send me elsewhere to pick up. I instead went to Valero and they accomodated me right away.PATRICIA P.

The Soquel store clerk was very nice. The overall experience was terrible because the drop off location was not mentioned when I picked up the truck. Caution the next customer that they need to be aware that a drop off site may be assigned while they are on a 900-mile drive. Do not leave it to the renter to find out later that there is another charge for the drop off site's mistake.Mary M.

Quit calling and harrassing customers to pick up equipment 30 miles from reserved location. Then I was harrassed to drop off equipment 30 miles from my home. I have had too many Uhaul horror stories to get into here, but in the futyre4if I can avoid UHaul I will. You treat your customers horribly! You must forget we are paying you for a service, you don't manipulate us for your agenda at our expense.Mari Jo H.

The gentleman that operates the Valero Gas Station was wonderful. Much better to rent from him personally than renting a cargo trailer online. I was very disappointed with trying to rent the 5x8 cargo trailer. Very frustrating to read â€œnone availableâ€ and will you be willing to talk to a uhaul representative. I definitely would have gone to another company if you didn't have a monopoly.Edward M.

The 15' truck we had reserved was not available. Luckily, they had a 17' truck. However the truck was in very poor condition, it even seemed like the transmission was about to go out. When we returned the truck, we refueled at the location. Yet we ended up getting a fuel charge of almost $50. We called the location and we we were offered a refund. Yet when the refund arrived, it was only a refund of $1.67. When trying to communicate this issue, the U-Haul employee (a middle aged man with an accent) was very angry and refused to help. I was able to resolve the issue by calling 1-800-GOUHAUL but it took over a month and 5 phone calls to get the refund. It was extremely frustrating and a huge waste of time. I will never rent from this U-Haul location again if I can help it.Ryan M.

I was charged twice for this rental. I was charged $114.67 on 10/29 at 5:14pm when renting the truck and then my card was debited again at return on 10/30 at 4:02pm for $105.46 even though I had returned the truck at 3pm and had to call the man who I returned the truck to and ask him why I hadn't received a receipt of return yet over an hour after I already had. I was guaranteed a 17' truck, and there was not one available for 20 miles. I had to settle on a 15' truck and used furniture blankets during Covid. Unacceptable. The owner said it was because I didn't confirm. I was never told to confirm, AND I check in online the week before my pickup, so I don't know where the ball was dropped here. I will not be using this location again, and will look to other rental companies before looking at Uhaul again.Anthony B.

The frustrating part was that I ended up going to 3 locations in order to find an appliance dolly that was actually at the 1st location but the employee didn't know. Thankfully the owner was able to find one, but I lost an hour in the process of running around. Seems they could do a better job in their inventory control. This is the worst Uhaul location ever. The customer service was the worst, very rude and unprofessional. They were dirty and it looked like there was no sanitation being done. First we were told to take a larger truck, then we were told to drive 45 miles to pick a truck up in 5 hours. Then a truck was dropped off and we got it. Truck was filthy. Tire pressure was low and so we had to pull into a gas station and put air in the tires. The rental shop was filthy and unorganized. I could not believe that this was UHaul...I thought I was in the wrong place.sherri S.

Renting from Valero Uhaul was a great experience. The location I was moving to had not yet moved out, so I needed to keep the truck an extra day. The UHaul personnel were VERY concerned that I did not return it on time, as other customers needed it. It showed me that they really care about their business and care for those renting. They let me know, in a courteous way, that they were very disappointed. My lesson is to rent for an extra day, so I do not impact others adversely.Michele L.

Did not provide pigtail to hook up lights and did not tell us there were no lights. Did not strap wheels in correctly and one fell off while driving. Made me drive the car up on carrier and was yelling that I didn't do it fast enough. Moaned and groaned about every little thing and was constantly stopping to read texts on his phone. (Every other uhaul experience I had this trip was great! Renting the truck in Santa Cruz was wonderful. The Watsonville dealer that gave us a pigtail and hooked up the trailer lights after we discovered they were not working was great. The Kingman AZ dealer that unhooked the carrier was great. It was just the soquel dealer that was horrible)Richeleen C.

For the booking process through the home office/website left much to be improved...Logistics center never called me back after 2 days and when they did they had no idea the the equipped I needed was located. after speaking to a bout three people a guy named Karl was helpful he said there was a truck and trailer in Montery CA. but he was still incorrect since equipment was available in Santa Cruz right down the street which was better for me.Carl E.

Vehicle only had 3/8 of a tank of gas. Proprietor was efficient but unfriendly. When I returned vehicle, I turned in the keys to someone who did not check the truck for damage or verify the mileage and gas consumption. . I was told that a copy of contract would be emailed to me the following morning . I felt the service was below what I expected.Charles B.
