overall it was great! I think I picked one of the coldest mornings, which is jading my experience. However, I was pretty anxious when the first truck wasn't available. My partner and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what numbers it was referring to, figuring it had to be there and we were looking at the wrong thing. When we finally gave up, the directions quickly pointed us to a truck that was there. Maybe trying to check that these trucks were there first would be helpful, or including a note that it is not uncommon to go through a few trucks that aren't present, I just figured it was a much more major problem than it turned out to be. Also, including a picture highlighting which numbers to look for would have been helpful, the description wasn't accurate or at least what I would have thought it meant. Also, there were a few steps we could have done before pickup, like taking the picture and adding an extra contact person. My mom got woken up because I didn't know to bring a passport and had to put someone in! Lastly, I had to go inside to get the key anyway. If we still had to go inside to talk to someone for the key, I don't know why it's considered contact-less. I would have just rented the normal way rather than doing all those extra steps!Elizabeth H.
When I picked up the trailer, the tail lights and riding lights did not work. I fixed the broken terminal connection so I could use the trailer after dark. Other than that the trailer was clean and usable.Alexander W.

Van was dirty in passenger compartment ad "Change Oil" light was constantly on. there are 2 rental stores within a 1/3 mile of each other in North Kingstown, RI but none in Narragansett or South Kingstown.DAVID A.
Vehicle needs shocks bounced around the cab of the truck for a hundred miles. When I first arrived at the store he was a gentleman in line in front of me I asked him if he was waiting for the one attendant that was behind the counter and he said yes so I waited about 10 minutes the guy .was on the phone. Finally the guy was so frustrated that he left. I stood there for another 5 minutes and then I heard the guy on the phone say well I'm at work right now indicating to me that it was a personal call so I said to him am I going to be able to rent a truck today or what and he told whoever it was on the phone that he had to call them back later and then proceeded to wait on me. Lots of dry dirt on the floor of cargo van. We cleaned as best we could but still needed to put carpets down to keep the Queen size mattresses clean. The inside height was not 5' 4" as advertised. It was barely 5' with the door open and hard to fit the mattresses because the door went into the ceiling reducing the height when it was open.Robert D.

Just wanted to say thank you to the guy behind the counter who took care of my van rental when the location service for the online pick up wasn't working for me. He made me remember why I always prefer to talk to a real person- no error messages. Also gave me his card so I could call after hours in case online drop off didnt work either. We had a slight issue with the return of the trailer. I contacted U haul customer service direct as per the text message I received. I spoke to some at 1-800 U haul customer service that was quite unhelpful and short with me. I asked to speak with her manager but was transferred to the original location of the rental. Once on the phone with them he was very helpful and fixed the situation right away. Very pleased with the location at North Kingstown service, but was not impressed with how I was talked to by U haul customer service. I have rented several times and expected a little better on that end.Stephen G.

My issue with this experience is based on receiving incorrect pricing info, and in general receiving conflicting information every time I called U Haul. Additionally, I called on Saturday 11/2 and was told a manager would call me Monday, however no one called and now it's Wednesday. I was told that if I return my rental truck earlier than anticipated, I'd be credited for the days I didn't use it. However, I was charged in full and was told I wouldn't be refunded for days I didn't even have the truck in my possession. I expect a credit for refunding the truck on Saturday vs Sunday, as was explained to me in my initial phone call, and I would also appreciate consideration for the fact that I received conflicting information and that on one has reached out as promised.
