The guy at the depot was awesome! The Uhaul was clean when we picked it up. However, that was insanely expensive for less then 2 days of renting the uhaul.

The replacement vehicle was returned to the location where the defective vehicle originated as per the directive of the UHaul technician Full tank, and ahead of return time. Took photo with time stamp. Were subsequently billed for 4 extra days and charged for less than full tank. We were told it that the vehicle was returned 4 days late. When we said we have photo of the vehicle at the return location with a time stamp, the excuse changed. UHaul stated the vehicle was returned to wrong place where it sat for 4 days before someone figured out where it was. The unfilled tank was due to the gas used by UHaul to return the vehicle to the second location. After checking with Windmill location, it was determined we did return the vehicle to the location we were told to. We were then were credited for one day's rental only. I had to do the recalculation for what UHaul owed us to get our full four days and gas refunded. There was never any discount applied for the original hassle as per the technician at the Windmill location. Requests for the discount to be applied have been ignored. This process took considerable time via email streams with multiple "mystery people". To UHaul employees: What would you think if someone sent you not just one but several emails using only their name and a reference number? ie) Susan Smith Ref: 1234567) When you send an email, use the subject line provided. It exists so that an email does not end up in a spam folder. A reference number with no attachment and no subject line causes confusion and aggravation. Also, state your position within the company, and location you are responding from. For all I know, the janitor is responding to my email stream. To Uhaul managers: Ensure that your employees have the authority to promise discounts to the customers. When a discount has been promised, make sure that promise is fulfilled. Being one of America's largest and well known rental companies for years, I fully expect that you have had sufficient time to get your customer service priorities fine-tuned. My recent experience leaves me wondering if perhaps your interest in profit margins far outweigh the benefits of a good customer service relationship with your clients.

I needed a van on short notice and the proprietor was great and accommodating. I didn't give an excellent only because the location has a very restricted parking lot so could be a challenge getting in an out of. Would definitely recommend though.

the van was the stinkiest automobile I have ever used and I am 60 years old. I had to drive with the windows opened for 2 days and felt embarrassed to move furniture to a friend. Also I filled up the tank to the mark indicated and still got charged extra $10.00

The gentleman that helped me get set up at the U-Haul location was absolutely wonderful. I had no issues with the van itself, the charges were exactly what they told me up front. Everything was straightforward and easy which is exactly what I needed with a hectic move! Will definitely be using U-Haul for all my future moving needs.

The service excellent however uhaul online system not working properly. Online help with uhaul rep. Did not solve the problem completely and a work-around was required. Vehicle latch on rear door not working on Friday, unable to swap vehicle at original location. Had to swap vehicle at uhaul in Dartmouth . I advised the vehicle was also running “rough”. And may need a tune up. Had to close contract on one vehicle and make new contract for replacement. They contract in my name, but on my son’s credit card. Was told to return replacement van to original location. Vehicle returned on July 7th. Have picture to prove it and gas receipt. Was told vehicle not returned until 11th of July with unfilled tank. Keep getting emails from different uhaul reps who I don’t know what their position is. Communicatiion with uhaul an absolute gong show. Please give me one rep with appropriate authority to deal with so chain of responsibility is clear. I have no idea who’s role is what there and what is being done in the background. Please send a subject line and contextual message with emails and not just a message containing only a contract number as i have no idea what the email is for. Is this company so big it cannot keep track of its billing and customer service priorities? This is a mess that is still not resolved.

The location that you have noted is not the one where I was instructed to drop off the truck. I dropped it off at the TImber Lounge on Agricola Street which is a bar. Fortunately, one of the staff was aware of something that the owner had said in regards to doing some UHaul work so she accepted the truck. Very nice of her but extremely poor location for UHaul for a drop off. Secondly, I had also booked on line to pick up a furniture cart at a location in Halifax. Upon arrival, the cart had already been given away as no communication was given to the location to hold the cart for a pre-booked reservation. Upon speaking to Uhaul reps, I was told to go over 20 minutes away to another location for something that was UHaul's mistake- they would not deliver to us at the moving location ...not their job.

We showed up to get our key from the drop box and it was open with no key. We had to call someone to come and deal with the situation. it put us behind about an hour. We ended up getting a van with a cracked windshield.

The window of my van had a huge crack in it upon pickup. There was quite a few small stones in the bed of the van that I had to sweep out before using it.

The store owner handled everything quite well. He seemed rather busy, but prioritized me over others when I came to pick up my Uhaul. His customers were a bit needy, but that's hardly his fault.

We have been unfairly overcharged for damage on the rear bumper we have never done. We literally just moved one bed, drove less than 5 km roundtrip, and had the van only for an hour and a half tops. The fuel deposit wasn't even totally filled up when pick-up and we filled it up to the maximum upon returning in good faith. I would have never thought Uhaul would have such a dishonest move. This is the third time we rent Uhaul in Halifax in a relatively short period of time, but the first time on this location. We firmly disagree with this damage charge. Uhaul hasn't even provided any photos of the damage, and we have photos of the rear bumper and don't see any dent, which means this overcharge is inadmissible. We are very disappointed with the experience, but we used to love Uhaul and it used to be our preferred option in the market. We hope Uhaul reconsider and withdraw this unfair charge for our credit card immediately.

Car had cracked windshield. Location was closed so I couldn't return. Tried calling Uhaul the following morning to raise issue - waited too long on hold. Then got charged for the damage in the afternoon - after I had received an email confirmation my rental was completed and OK

Your computer checkin system is a dinosaur. Too many steps, too long a wait between steps. I gave you all my info online, why do you force your agents to go through it all again? All they should have to do is verify my licence and hand me the key.
