Less than 24hrs prior to me picking up my rental, my Uhaul NIGHTMARE began! When I made my reservation, I was told I would hear from dispatch 24-48 prior to pickup. That NEVER happened!!! I ended up calling myself, ONLY to find out, the location I selected to pick-up the truck had been changed without my knowledge, and though the new location was less then a 10mile difference, it was in total different part of town. My storage was on the HWY-52 side of Winston-Salem, the new location was on the I40 (Clemmons) side of Winston-Salem!!! Because of the last minute change, I know was faced with a logistic problem, because it was ONLY ME!! Initially, my movers where going to meet me at the Marshall St. location, and we would head to my storage. Because this no longer was the case, I called the Clemmons location, and spoke with Rick. I specifically told him, I was going to be by myself, needed to have my car placed on the mover, so I can then drive the truck to meet my movers, because AGAIN, it was ONLY ME!!! The morning of my move, I received a call from the facility, telling to call upon my arrival. I thought that was odd, because according to their hours of operation, they opened at 8am, and it was a little past 8a when I received the call!!! I quickly blew it off, and assumed they lived on-site or nearby, and would come to the office once I'd arrived!!! Needless to say, that wasn't the case at all, and not only were they NOT OPENED, there was NO ONE THERE TO HELP ME GET MY CAR ON THE MOVER!!!! The gentleman I was now speaking with (SORRY, I was so upset and livid, I never got his name!), explained to me 'how simple it was to load/unload my car, and that he could send me a YouTube video, showing how it's done!!! That is when I became LIVID!!! I TOLD HIM, UNACCEPTABLE and not happening!! He put me on hold several times trying to find someone to come and help me, to know avail!!! He explained to me he was out of town due to a family emergency, and though I was empathetic to his situation, as a business AND a representative of U-Haul, it is unacceptable to not have a plan in place for LIFE SITUATION'S and that still doesn't give me a solution to MY PROBLEM!!! He suggested I leave me car there, load the truck and come back!! I explained to him logistically that doesn't work, and that I was driving back to SC after the truck was loaded, so the car had to be loaded prior!!! By now it was shortly before 9a, and I was meeting my movers at 10a. I ended up calling my movers, ask could they come meet in Clemmons, which they did. Kelly, at your High-Point Traffic department, has been my guardian angel throughout this entire ordeal, and though she did what she could, I believe U-Haul overall, needs to do more in a form of compensation. I had trouble picking up. It was the fault of UHaul, NOT this location. Dont show that the location allows self pickup when I had to call and sit on hold for over 20 min and still never reached a live rep. Thank goodness someone was still at the business to complete my pick up. Bad customer service to make me wait on hold forever!!!Karen L.

The guys did a great job assisting with hooking up the trailer and diagnosed and fixed a problem with the electrical system on my truck that initially prevented the trailer lights from working - it turned out to be a missing fuse.JERRY D.

This local UHaul site was great, as well as the local employee. My rental experience; however, was not a good one. The online rental was misinforming (rentals not available even though website lists them as available). Calling the 800 number is worse. On hold for a long time, then the representative couldn't answer the question so they put me back on hold. Took me over 3 1/2 hrs to rent a simple trailer.CHRISTOPHER C.
When I arrived, the "uhaul guy" was not available to take my rental return. The gentleman who was at the counter said he could take my keys and they would call me when the other guy came back to process the return. I didnt receive a call, but did receive a $40 charge for returning it a day late (due to the delay from when I dropped it off to the time they processed it. I assumed they would take into account that It was not the customers fault it was processed after the 48hr timeframe.Jacob M.

There was trash in the rear that had to be cleaned. The truck rear may have been left open at some point and the entire ceiling of the box was dripping wet. Also had to call and wait for someone to come to location in spite of stated hours of operationJames M.

The gentleman was friendly. The furniture dolly that I ordered was not in stock at this location. The gentleman switched it for a different dolly that I didn't need. I had to return to the location and then drive to a second location just to complete my order. This delayed my move.Edward G.
