I rented a car hauler which was clean and had new chains installed a day earlier. The trailer looked to be in good shape. After leaving the yard it felt like I was pulling a ton of weight but had not loaded the trailer with a vehicle yet. I stopped and checked to make sure the emergency brakes had not come on, which they had not. 1.5 hrs later while getting gas I noticed one of the tandem tires was completely sheared off. The axle bearing was seized and I had dragged the trailer that long (only 1 of the 4 wheels was seized). I was only half way to my destination. Fortunately there was a U-haul dealership where I was. I dropped off the trailer and arrangements were made to pick up another in the next town. The dealer where I was asked the dealer where I was going to have the trailer cleaned off (there was lots of snow out) and to have the paperwork ready after he gave them my contract number. Upon arriving at the next location, nothing was ready. There were not busy at all and seemed clueless on how to proceed. I spent 45 minutes waiting while they waited on the phone. One fella refused to go out to dig out the trailer. Service there was very poor. In all this whole breakdown extended my day trip by an extra 6 hrs.Daniel V.

I tried to contact my original return location, Grand Lake Rd.,and there was no answer and a voice mail that you didn't even know was a business. Then at the UPS store on Keltic Dr. there U-Haul debit machine was broken and couldn't return my deposit so I am waiting for a cheque. U-Haul needs to make sure ALL of their pick up and drop off points have functioning equipment for transactions and are at businesses that will serve people. The UPS store was friendly and helpful, this is the location I will be using but it NEEDS a new debit/credit terminal.Wayne B.

Absolutely nothing if they are dealing with Bill Brown... The agent was very helpful and patient during the pick up process as there were a number of other UPS customers that arrived. Good size parking lot. I would recommend this location to customers within the Sydney NS area.dan R.

Had to go to 4 diffrent u-haul locations to get a truck witch added extra 10 miles onto my tripJames M.
Great service, super friendly staff, but annual safety inspection was past due 8 months prior to me using the vehicle, tires looked like the tread were drawn on with a sharpie, massive exhaust manifold leak and fumes into the cab, but that's to be expected in a neglected 8.1L gm, had to add 3 litres of oil and pretty sure the old girl needed a set of tie rod ends, so all in all a normal U haul experienceblair B.

I was told by Marnie, Cape Breton Flooring location, "I would have unlimited mileage", which was incorrect according to the personnel at the UPS store. Also, a headlight was burned out on the Driver's side.Rose P.
Truck had 1/4 of a tank of fuel and wasn't made aware that I would not be reimbursed for any extra fuel when returning the vehicle. Representative simply said it is in the contract. This is very unsatisfactory. Your contract protects Uhaul but does nothing to protect the customer. There is absolutely no way for the customer to calculate how much fuel should be in the vehicle to arrive safely at the desired destination. Uhaul vehicles should be filled with gas when picked up by the customer to alleviate any confusion and frustration trying to calculate fuel levels during and at the end of the rental agreement. Would appreciate being reimbursed for the extra 1/4 tank of fuel. $60. to $70. Very dissatisfied with my experience.Brad M.

Location was fine. Truck broke down while in use and a replacement wasn't brought until the next day. The break-down put us behind schedule, but we were not permitted to extend the rental even though we lost time in it.DRIVER P.

Ask better questions, those questions are not appropriate. The location was all right. This was the only location that had the truck. The Equipment was CLEAN but a bit beat up which is not the fault of the store. So ask better questions.Frank B.

The person who rented the same truck at Sydney and returned it within 24 hours in Truro was verbally advised of an early return discount. Is that something that all customers are supposed to qualify for?norma M.
allow debit/credit cards to be used at non uhaul locations. also not change mileage when you have to pick up 18 miles from your chosen location. we had to call up and get adjustments made as already upon arriving at destination...we were already over before dropping off.Jason B.

The area was difficult to maneuver around because it was so busy. The uhaul was in an awful state of disrepair when I picked it up and the owner was well aware of the problems. He actually told me the lights on the dash would come on and off but that they had techs look at it and found nothing wrong but that he was happy it was leaving his shop so they could deal with it in Dartmouth. The owner did not do a walk around of the truck with me. If he had of I would certainly not have taken it just from the state of the outside alone.LAURA-JAYNE J.
We picked up the truck at 3:15 on Thursday and were done with it by around 10:00 so we dropped it off in the same spot we picked it up there was no drop off box for the keys so we kept them, Friday morning I got a rude phone call telling me they needed the keys ASAP because it was still on my nickle and they couldn't rent it out again until I did we had booked it til4:00 I was not pleased . We used a uhaul truck before and we're never treated like this. The truck had no working gauges or speedometer it had a huge dent in the hood and damage on both sides that I took pictures of so we would not be charged for said damage we were totally disappointed .shawna M.
