I want say that it being busy and stressful Michual and Ceasar were the reason things went smooth as possible. Although there was a line and there were other customers being rude they held it together and were professional and helped me out with kindness. Give them a raise or something not a pizza party or high five but something real. It’s workers like that keep companies that are under high pressure together. It takes a certain individual to handle very impatient people. I usually don’t write reviews but when I saw what they dealt with I wanted to let management know to take care of them foreal. Thanks

Some wonderful person decided it would be a great idea to lube up the side view mirrors before I left. I'm sure that looked great on paper, but even a light breeze would make the mirrors move. So you can guess how driving 70 across country worked out. I couldn't see a thing out the right side of my uhaul for 1400 miles. I had to guess every time I switched lanes. This made for one of the worst experiences I've ever had

Original location on 38th and Tennyson didn't have my full reservation which is wild and then the guy behind the counter was absolutely useless. Bit of a dickhead too. I'm not going to buy a water from him if I'm dying of dehydration, he was such an ass. Which is a shame because I live across the street and would spend money there. Experience at the colfax location was great but I'm definitely off put by the other guy and have already told numerous people and a public review is coming

This is the first time dealing with this location and doing a return from a long move from Florida to Denver. The people working outside when the equipment was returned were absolutely the most friendly people that I think I could have ever run into. They knew what they were doing. They got the trailer disconnected immediately while making conversation that was just very relaxing. These people are the best.

He was there to help me when I was wandering around and trying to figure out where to start, helped me get things checked out quickly so I could get going, and he was SUPER helpful when I got back and handled everything for the drop off. He was friendly, personable, knowledgeable and clearly understood what good customer service looks like. People are often confused and stressed out when moving, so having somebody like this present is worth a fortune. I'd do whatever it takes to keep Michaul on staff before somebody comes along and offers him a job!

The guy checking everyone out (who I’m pretty sure is the owner or manager), was a douche. The ordered 8 boxes, which he was didn’t mention before checking me out. When I reminded him, his reaction was the kind of smug infantilization you see in pissed off TSA Agents belittling travelers. The response was something like “hold your horses buddy, we’ll get to that.” His customer service skills were a 0/10.

Kevin was so patient with me and my questions and was very helpful in showing how to adjust various things I was not familiar with. When I returned the van both were so helpful and friendly and made the transaction a breeze. I highly recommend this site for your rentals as they are equipped with a wide selection for your needs.

Move in was good. The manager let me pick the unit and seamlessly got me switched over. Julio H does a great job with ensuring safety and happiness with the customers. This location however could use a uhaul designated crossing to enter the storage facility and office. Unloading and loading can be dangerous especially if there are events nearby.

Booking the rental was confusing, but the owner was helpful in finishing the rental. The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas when picked up, so we had to worry with it at the beginning.

At pickup the truck had 1/16th of a tank and the gas light was on. I was told they don't have gas and that I could not be given another truck. Supplies were not in the back, and I had to go find someone to help me.

This facility is in a horribly congested area. There is no place to park a truck to unload into the storage. The storage units are not lighted and seemed damp. I moved my stuff out within 10 days. The staff were very helpful but I would never again use this facility.

This location works great for me living downtown. Eveyone that works there is helpful. The only issue I ever have is with the U-Haul app and sometimes having to wait in the long line inside when the app is taking too long. Michaul just assured me with returning the vehicle and was very helpful. The guys that assisted me in kicking up the vehicle were also very helpful.

The only issue was that there was a lock on my unit and I had to go hunt down someone that worked at the facility to unlock it- what if I arrived just a bit later and everyone was off for the night, how would I have accessed my unit?

The first locker was on level 4 with no elevator access. This was not indicated on the website. We moved to a level 1 locker, which was bigger but cost more. But that’s okay. But at no time during our two visits within a 24 hour period did the access code on the door work.

Not comfortable putting my belongings in a chain link fence unit. The other closed unit was extremely small. I would not recommend this store to anyone.

We have used Uhaul storage and trucks while traveling the past 5 years. We were shocked at the conditions of this facility We showed up a few minutes before closing, the staff were helpful but explained the 26 ft UhAul truck would not fit in the loading dock and we would have to park the truck across the busy street and unload in traffic! Staff was apologetic but could offer nothing else. Our storage units were 6ft, not 8ft, so our furniture would not fit. The storage doors openings were too small to put our chairs. And since the truck didn’t fit in the loading dock, the only entrance (after crossing the busy street) was a regular size door and a foot or higher step into the building. Unfortunately the movers we hired through the Uhaul app were kind and agreed that the facility was impractical and unable to use. We cancelled our reservations the next day when opened. Which made our drop off for the truck 2 days later since we had to find another storage facility and had to work with the movers schedule

It’s hot super hot like the heat is on, you can’t get to your storage without going around up the stairs the double charge I paid 600 for 3 small storage units I had a truck for overnight they charged 300 I ossified 900.00 for 2 weeks the staff are horrible this whole storage unit is trash I wouldn’t recommend it! When you go further up it’s like 100 degrees no air no assistance I don’t recommend

I was one day late from requesting my 30 day move out. You refused to honor me after never being late and paying $150 a month. You refuse to allow me to move out and now charged me almost $1000. Of all of the Uhaul facilities I’ve used for trucks and storage this location shines for so many reasons that I will continue to make the drive to support them from my new home. We had an awesome experience here and the employees were extremely helpful. The only thing I would add is that the parking here at the Lower Colfax Ave. facility is AWFUL. And I would add very frustrating, lol! Just expect the frustration if you're unloading a trailer within the garage parking spot! Just direct traffic when you have to back out onto Colfax. There's a few spots of parking on the front of the building but when we tried to park there some construction workers had parked there and weren't moving. They just sat there.(insert angry face, lol). We decided to stick it out bc it was closest to downtown Denver and we got a FREE storage unit for a month since we towed a trailer from FL to CO.

I’m from out of state and I had no idea that the layout of this storage facility was so inconvenient. This location is not ideal. It is a busy street corner in Denver. There is only one unloading dock for trucks. I had to park across the street, carry everything from my U-Haul to a side door that had a ledge, which meant I had to put everything on a dolly and take it off the dolly when I got to the door, lift the dolly up and over the ledge of the door, and then put all my items back on the dolly to roll to the elevator which is freight elevator requiring the person to have to send the elevator back up or down if someone else had used it. Staff was pleasant, but not very helpful when it came to helping me navigate the facility. Even after reading the online directions, I had to ask multiple questions throughout the day on how to do certain things when they could’ve just told me when I checked in. U-Haul somehow made my drop off location in the wrong state and the staff did change and make my U-Haul truck return easy for me, but overall, this facility is just not easy to use at all. This location made a two hour moving job a 5 hour job.

Charity turned a debacle of a move into something I could deal with and without her professionalism, forward thinking, and compassion I would have had a 100 times bigger mess on my hands. She can run logistics ina high level and I appreciate that. When I came to check into storage finally Samantha handled my ridiculously last minute and chaotic situation with calm and went over and above the normal customer service I have been used to to make me feel prepared with plenty of space for my families things. Honestly, if it weren't for the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, this would have been the worst Uhaul facility I have visited. Move in with a trailer was extremely difficult having to park across the street in the rental lot of move everything across. While it clearly wasn't Uhaul's fault, moving in during a Broncos game was a bit of a challenge. Not quite sure how it was approved but the elevator doesn't access all of the storage floors? Not sure if that is apparent when a tenant reserves their unit. The larger units are chain link fence with fairly flimsy looking locks, unlike the light-gauge metal partitions I have seen in all other facilities. The rat traps inside the units while serving a presumed purpose, were not particularly reassuring about the quality of the facility.

We waited five hours because of a mistake that their representatives made and they would not accommodate us. It is 46 degrees and we have to sleep in the parking lot because one of their front desk attendants told me I had 24 hour access and they did not add it to my account! I have a sick wife my mother and three little brothers with me we are moving to Houston from Denver Colorado and we had to sleep in their parking lot overnight and nothing was done! I cannot believe this!

I came from California after a 18 hours drive and when I got there the workers were leaving and would not wait ,they gave me the wrong access code to get in and I was stuck in Colorado with all my stuff,so I had to spend $110 to get a motel room, lucky my stuff didn't get stolen the next day the owner was nice and helpful but it was a little bit to late for that

Very impressed with U-Haul overall but some franchisees are not as good as others. Mile High Station was disappointing compared to previous experiences over the year. Units have no lights which is crazy. Was given a BS excuse that it's a fire hazard... yet there are lights in the units and functional ones outside. Entrance to the units has a large step instead of a ramp that can be rolled up on... Staff was not near as courteous. They probably tire of having to lie to customers as to why there are no lights.

We arrived after hauling a load across country and to our surprise we were assigned a storage unit that would have required us to move all of our furniture up a flight of stairs to our unit. When we asked for a more convenient option, they had to assign us to a unit that was a 10-minute drive away. Once we arrived to that unit we were unable to move in because in the entire storage facility there is one unloading parking space. After we were finally able to load our furniture, we quickly realized that the storage unit RECOMMENDED by your company for a 2 bedroom apartment was not big enough for our stuff and had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of furniture. The literal only positive of the experience was the fact that we get a free month since we rented a truck for our move. That being said, I will never book a storage unit through your company again due to this awful transparency and misleading messaging.

Uhaul has been disappointing over and over again. I paid for a climate controlled unit as requested. What I received was a unit on the 3rd floor that was NOT climate controlled. When I went down to speak to someone at the desk, I was told it IS climate controlled however that specific area (that was noticeably warmer) was having issues with the AC but they were aware and they would have someone look at it. If that’s the case, why are you putting anyone who paid for climate control in an area that currently is not climate controlled. At this point after driving all the way from FL to Denver, I just wanted to get everything into storage so I could be done with my 5 day trip. Just overall so disappointing. I will never use Uhaul for anything again.

The facility was nice and the staff very helpful. The problem encountered was limited loading areas and access to the storage areas. Too many people were trying to gain access at the same time while one large truck was not attended in the single bay. This led to frustration among those that were actively trying to get things loaded in storage.

The first person I dwelt with was little personable and had no advice as to where I should park to unload. Considering I explained that I had jut drove 19 hrs. Overall the experience at this place was pretty bad, and I don't recommend using this facility or U-Haul storage until they get their promotions, pricing, and offers straightened out. Beside my specific issues detailed below,, there is only ONE elevator for the whole facility and ONE loading dock. So if you show up and those things are in use, your pretty much screwed when it comes to moving and storing large or heavy items. The manager is a nice guy and ended up helping me with the issues, but this location and U-Haul corporate need to work on their communication and offers. I was offered a free month of storage from U-Haul, only to arrive with a full moving truck and be told that the offer wouldn't be honored at this location, despite nothing online, in email, or on phone ever telling me that would be the case. I was also charged for the lock that was supposed to be free as a promo offer. The manager informed me that they didn't offer any of these promotions and I would have to pay. Online also guaranteed an indoor, climate controlled, secure unit. What I got was a chain link fence exposed to all the other units around it, not very secure at all. The manager told me they couldn't resolve any of my issues immediately, and needed to get more info. It took a full month before I was contacted and the issues were resolved. The manager was helpful in the end, I just wish he could've resolved the problems more immediately. On the same day I arrived other people were arriving with the exact same misinformation about a free month of having a unit. Its super annoying to have to pay for something you were told was free and for it to take so long to be resolved.

We reserved (and paid for) a unit that was 10x10x8 feet. The unit we had was not this large (it was not tall enough). As a result, our stuff that should have fit from a 15 ft truck did not. I called three times and left a message for Diego to call me back to discuss and never heard back.

When we went to move our things out, I told the lady at the front desk we were moving everything out. She did not say anything about a walk through. We removed the lock, got all of our things out, and left. I continued to get bills for 3 months. When I called, I was told there was still a lock on our unit. Then the lady said I was yelling at her (I was not, I was asking for a copy of the phone conversation as uhaul repeats to you 800 times while you are on hold for 40 minutes) and she hung up on me. The customer service at this location is TERRIBLE. Do not go through the hassle of renting a suit here.

My Experience with U-Haul right off the bat was horrible. I was quoted an original price of 860 some. went back two months later to check on my quoted price and ultimately the manager in Flagstaff Arizona said no we will not honor that. I guess my price was never locked in? One of the employees even said that it looks like we seem to have an error your price is still fluctuating with the daily quotes. My verification code didn’t work or they just didn’t care they wanted a receipt from my email. which they failed to send me even though they had this quote listed in the notes. I was told this was a mistake but not until the day of. Multiple employees said this problem would be fixed but ultimately the manager declined after months of constant callbacks and negotiating the last day the manager ultimately said no to me. I insisted that she goes back and look over the recorded phone call as I wasn’t making any of this up. But Apparently that takes too much time. I had all dates written down for when I called in and even what went into their notes. It got to the point I could tell the U-Haul employees a lot more about what was going on. I knew what was in their notes more than they knew. They would have to go digging or looking through the system they said?!?! or the computer was slow or was put in a different system?!?! What? What kinda of system are you guys using. And they even accuse me of lying on the occasion. When you call the one 800 number and if the local office doesn’t pick up, it outsources I was talking to people in another state sometimes. Extremely annoying and arduous system I’ll write down peoples names, they couldn’t give me an identification number or obviously the last name so I would say “hey I talked to Karen from corporate” “Oh OK will wait for those notes to show up in our system” next day talk to a new employee, explain what happened. “we don’t have a Karen here” I understand you don’t have a Karen but Karen form Corporate after calling the one 800 number to complain about you Guys said you’d fix it and she left notes.” And it just never ended. Had to talk to 10 different people. My price was never locked in, the month of March the price was 900, the price in April was 1100 and after talking with them for months they wanted to charge me the quote of the day which was 1200+ they wouldn’t even next off a couple hundred bucks. For everything we’d been through and they all knew me by this point. It was so sad. The day of I called budget and they got me the same truck for about 890 was soooooo happy. To top all that off I forgot that because I didn’t get the truck my storage unit price went up. They quoted me 90 something. The day I showed up in a new state with no where to put my stuff they wanted to charge me 114 bucks a month. I I finally just got out of the U-Haul storage went with a local Fort Collins storage facility, 80 bucks a month same size and all. budget trucks are almost 2 or $300 cheaper than U-hauls on any given day. I still need to move a lot of stuff from Arizona to Colorado. Let’s just say budget and local businesses is getting all of my money not U-haul. If you use U-haul and you like them that’s fine. But if you’ve never done business with a moving company I recommend trying to stay local and small. U-Haul just wasn’t for me everywhere else was just amazing.

I had a terrible experience overall. Upon my move in after a 8 hour drive pulling a trailer I showed up with just enough time to check in and unload a trailer of stuff. Upon check in the employee did not tell me that the elevator does not go to the 4th floor!! that's insane! how could someone not tell me that I'd have to move up stairs. The move in logistically took longer and was harder and I was upset about. I would not have agreed to store my stuff there if I had known that the elevator did not go to my floor. However the office closed for the day by the time I discovered this incredibly inconvenient aspect. Then over six months I pay more than my previous storage company and pay my unit a visit. During this second visit I discover that my floor is not climate controlled and temps outside are in the 90's !! why did no-one tell me about this?! I would not stored my stuff there had I know. the location is advertised as climate control yet no-one told me my floor was not. After hours sweating and getting what I needed I ask to talk to a manager. The manager listened to my complaints but did nothing other than to suggest I move to the u-haul down the street. I ask if she could allow me to use a trailer to do so and she says it will be $25 , really you can't even comp $25 for me ! Knowing I have to move by myself in the heat and when I was not planning for this move! wow. really no shits given. no offer for a free month and trailer. no offer for help. no apology. I rented a trailer and moved my stuff to a different company and will never store stuff with U-Haul again. You lost a good costumer. Upon returning my trailer I talked with other customers returning equipment and they had complaints about U-Haul as a company as well as this locations staff. Did I mention the damage to my belongings because of the heat ?! no here, I will be placing a damage claim.

I would like a refund. I was told I would be able to get 1 month of a "free storage unit" with my moving truck rental. Instead I got nickeled and dimed for the storage insurance and having to buy a lock. Seriously, you make everyone use your locks? And you can't return it? That is ridiculous. Lady at counter was very rude. Said we could not use our combination lock purchased at another uhaul facility. Said we could not rent space without a local address. Son doesn’t start school until fall, so we do not have a local address. That is why we are storing his stuff. Storage was supposed to be 10’ X 5’. It was much smaller. The door was around 32”. No way to get a couch in. They had no other space available so we canceled. Very frustrating experience.

First off, I spend 2 hours on the phone with U Haul just trying to set up a storage unit (which they originally said it would be in a different location but my confirmation email said it was this one). Then you charge me for a lock? Your policy requires a "specific lock"? Thats dumb. That really is. I was told on the phone what my cost would be (with the free month) and then to after be told about needing to pay for insurance and a lock. That is just ridiculous. I am very unhappy with U Hauls poor customer service and their "hidden fees."

I had a problem with a trailer hitch installation involving a different U-Haul location and the staff at the mile high station location went out of their way to help resolve my issue and get me the perfect temporary storage solution to relieve some of the stress during a difficult cross country move.

With a single loading bay and single service elevator for the upper floors, expect needing patience for loading/unloading larger amounts of possessions in and out. There is space for about 1-4 customers to load/unload from if you count the side door and they have 4 carts appropriately. Realistically, there's space for 1 customer during business hours via the loading bay as the side door is EXCEEDINGLY inconvenient for more than a few possessions. DO try to have 2+ persons when on the premises, as it'll be a lot safer and quicker to operate with the system that's in place. I wish I could recommend it, but the lacking of designated loading zone options makes it difficult to do so for the price unless it's convenient for you... The staff there is very aware of this and try to make it easier if they can. Thank you all for your help with the situation that lead to my needing to use your facility! :)

I rented a van and a storage room. I loaded my items in the van and returned to the storage room to unload. Upon returning, after employee hours, but in access hours, I found the lock to my new storage room had not been removed. This prevented me from unloading the van.

My order was canceled for my truck because i was there at 3pm instead of 1pm. I was told this was a loose time table and no one even called me before cancelling it to see if i was just running late. I didn’t know it was cancelled until i got there-luckily they were able to still give me another truck-but i thought that was a big turn off from the start. I also wasn’t happy that when i called prior to booking the truck/storage unit regarding the 1 month free rent that i was told absolutely nothing about purchasing insurance or a circle lock-which i would’ve looked into prior to arriving for my pick up yesterday. Then, after spending 20 mins rebooking everything, we were told our truck was in row P...which had no keys. They then looked for the keys for 15 mins before giving us a different truck. We returned that truck at 6:45pm last night and I watched the workers drive it away after telling us our gas mileage and approving that the tank was refilled. I then received a call yesterday saying they couldn’t find the keys. Seems like a lot of lack of communication and it ultimately ate up 45 mins of time we could’ve been moving.

It smelled strongly of weed in the facility which was weird, not sure where that came from. It said it was a max security facility but it was really easy for anyone to walk into the garage. Also the facility itself was really janky compared to other similarly priced storage facilities I have used - the floors were awful and uneven so super hard to push the carts, and I was surprised that we had a chain storage unit instead of a walled in one, it makes me more nervous that someone will try to break in because they can see what is in the unit. Also the way the unit door locked there is still a large gap between the door and door frame even when locked as tightly as possible with a chain. Can't complain too much though because got a free month

I rented a 8' x 10' x 8' unit. When I checked in, the height of these units are only 6' high. When I asked about the height, they said it is on average 8' high. It's not even close to 8' high. This is completely misleading and actually false advertising. When I asked, they said they could move me to a different unit, but it would be more expensive. No other options or offers. Manager on staff was very rude and not helpful at all.
