My reserved pickup location was changed twice online by Uhaul, but no one called me to finalize my pickup location. No truck had been assigned to me when I arrived at the location to pick it up, so I couldn't use the Uhaul app, as instructed in my email. The location counter person could not explain how the included mileage was calculated, and it was not enough to get me from the pickup location to my home, and then to my destination and the drop off location. No one went over the damage spots on the truck with me (marked by X stickers). During my 1.5 hour journey, a message appeared on the dash indicating an underinflated rear tire. The drop off location was not expecting my arrival, even though I responded to a text asking me for my anticipated drop off time. The manager of the drop off location urged me to file a complaint to get my additional mileage charge refunded. By rectifying these issues, customer service could be greatly improved.

Hossein KThe 24/7 mobile truck share/set up was horrendous and it took over 45 minutes of my 6 hour reserved time to just get the truck sorted with the mobile chat. Would not recommend. What a waste of time.

Chris MI tried to call twice and each time I waited over an hour to talk to somebody but eventually hung up as nobody answered. Leaving a customer on hold for over an hour is just not accepting.

Ryan fThe booking system may need an upgrade. My exchnges with it left me confused about whether I did or did not have a reservation. I visited the shop a day early and got it strightened out, but the incident left me wondering how good the U-Haul computer system is. No "tap" for payment may also indicate system that is not up to date.

Richard HIt was an absolute pleasure getting my hitch installed at U-Haul. The booking process was simple, I had a confirmation email sent immediately, the store was spotless, the woman behind the counter was lovely, the job was done well and in the agreed upon amount of time. U-Haul's hitch installation price is right too... the estimate from the Audi dealership was much higher. I'm very impressed with this service and will absolutely recommend. Thank you.
Ann GA $20 rental ended up being $51 with all the fees and extras. Then tried to charge me for gas after driving 6km. Hate being nickel and dimed.
Brian WCheck the safety on the truck I rented. When braking from speed, especially when loaded going downhill the front suspension started shaking violently and felt like it was all about to come apart. Ford death wobble? I delivered the truck 5 minutes before the end of the day so I didn't have time to explain the severity of the issue. The truck should not be driven full of stuff down any hills in my opinion. It was a little sketchy once or twice coming from vancouver.

He was very efficient and showed me how to operate the bike rack, how to take it on and off, and I appreciated his friendly approach.

It was a really great experience; just delightful, helpful people to deal with.
lyndsay shad a hitch installed on a 2023 Ioniq 5 EV... took a little longer than expected, however it was done 100%... so worth the wait... installer showed me the issue... did not take off bumper which is a plus...

David BThis is the 6 - 7th time I've rented from this location....and on each occasion all has gone well. But today I was truly disappointed by some poor customer service by two locations, both your North Vancouver location (1410 Main St) and a local depot (The Bitters End Boat Exchange in Gibsons, BC....where I also live). Let me explain. 4 days ago, I rented a trailer from your North Vancouver location, as my local depot (The Bitters End Boat Exchange) did not have available. When I called them (The Bitters End Boat Exchange), they said I would be able to rent/pick-up a trailer in Vancouver, and then drop off here in Gibsons...even though I was unable to set this up online. They (The Bitters End Boat Exchange) said they would arrange with North Vancouver office. I would suggest you contact them (Dwayne at The Bitters End Boat Exchange) to confirm. Today, when I was expecting to drop it off in Gibsons, where the trailer was location at my home (in Gibsons), I was called by North Vancouver office and told trailer must be returned to North Vancouver by 2pm, or their would be high penalties/costs. I called Dwayne at The Bitters End Boat Exchange letting him know of the situation, and he said "sorry about that....guess you'll need to return trailer to North Vancouver". So I took the day off from work, immediately booked a ferry (@ $75), and returned the trailer on the earliest possible ferry (returned it at 2:20pm). All the North Vancouver office could say (2 different representatives), was "read the contract....it must be returned to same location". I explained that The Bitters End Boat Exchange said they would arrange, but they didn't seem to understand or care about my situation, and simply wanted the trailer returned immediately. If I go online to uhaul.com, The Bitters End Boat Exchange is a U-haul location. depot, etc. So does this mean a customer cannot rely in what they are advised by an agent or representative of specific U-haul locations? Again, I am truly disappointed by both locations concern or appreciation of my situation today, including the time and cost it required of myself. -Todd Schumlick 604-935-9484

irma cTrain call center employees to do the job properly and not make random changes... I ordered a 20 ft truck which was charged to a 15 ft van. I ended up with a 27 ft truck and it screwed our ferry rez.

Beatrice Rthe people are awesome - the parking is a gong show. the woman at the counter was great and sabin, the installer, thought he heard me say something bad about the install - which i hadn't - to the person i was with and kindly came over and asked if everything was ok to make sure that it was.

The new doors look flimsy and the installer broke the door jam. My concerns about the security of my locker were brushed off by the employees. Security was horrible, day one my scan card didn’t work and I was told not to use anymore, just go inside without checking in.

Dana T | Online Move InWhen it comes to the actual check in for the storage unit, everything was fine. But the problem was that I also rented the uhaul van because I was moving. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. If you look at my file, she's the one that canceled my rental of the pickup truck. I recommend you listen to that tape.

There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? How much do u respect and value ur company?

Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.

Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. The person behind the desk walked me to the locker, insured I knew how to enter with the cardlock..the guys helped me understand the working of the van..I really appreciate all the support and kindness ..super people work here.

Marlyn B | Overall ExperienceI moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn’t get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn’t really have anything to say about it, very much a “what do you want me to do about it” mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn’t have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn’t seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he’ll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn’t comforting and clearly not working.

Rental staff could not find my reservation so created a new one, leaving my existing one open. Rental agent seemed poorly trained and not helpful.
Victor L | Overall ExperienceI had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry. The people onsite are very friendly but the experience became too much of a hassle to take things in and out, which I have to do from time to time. Just my experience.
