The guys running this site in Salem MA are the best customer focused UHaul employees I've ever experienced. One has been there a few years and the other was the general manager I think. The place is clean and organized well, and I was in and out during check-in and check-out within minutes. They are very conscientious about attending to customers first. Bravo to these two guys.

Honestly there's no real need for improvements they're amazing at this Salem location -- I frequently go out of my way to go to this location because of how awesome everyone is. Especially with how patient and understanding they are with me - on top of that they're absolutely amazing at going above and beyond for everyone with them.

Make sure the gas tank is actually full. The gauge read full, but I drove the cargo van a total of 12.7 miles and had to refill the tank with 2.7 gallons of gas!

We had to move during "h*** week"—on the dreaded August 31/September 1 days in Boston. Anthony Gambale personally made our difficult and stressful move much easier, while every single member of the staff was professional, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. Every detail, even the ones we missed (like requesting overnight storage) was handled with cheer; we were given the option of larger truck for move-in-day, which was radically better for our needs. Even when we brought the truck back just-before-deadline on move-out day, and offered to unload in minutes in front of the storage building, they said not to worry about it, but if they needed the truck that quickly, they would tell us. It was near closing, and they even provided a few minutes of labor to speed the second-floor storage unit loading up. This was DisneyWorld level customer service. We were impressed.

I cleaned out my storage yesterday and terminated my lease. A rat trap was in my unit and rats had shredded and nested in some of my belongings.

You should have scanners in your locations for drivers licenses N cameras for pictures when you APP and does not work be more likena physicians office where the checking in fast and simple I spent 2 hours just to rent a simple storage unit shouldn't be rocket science!!!

Anthony was fabulous! I have had numerous issues trying to get my ubox delivered when speaking to U-Haul customer service team. No one seemed to understand the process. When I went to the U-Haul location, Anthony understood exactly what I needed and was extremely helpful! I now have a storage until at his location. Give this man a raise ;)

Storage area was not clean. When I started moving my belongings I noticed mouse droppings on some of my boxes. When I was ready to leave I was kept waiting in the office because even though there were 3 staff and only two customers I was told I had to wait for the manager.

Manager on duty when I closed my account could have been more friendly after I used their service for 3.5 years. However the Regional Manager or Sr Manager was excellent and very understanding and customer focused.

I have rented numerous trucks from Uhaul from the past, and this location is excellent. Anthony and Chris are super friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to give great customer service. Seemed like every time I was there, Anthony was there to help me with whatever I needed, and he was always so patient, kind, and accomodating. Uhaul is a big company, but they make that branch feel like a local neighborhood rental and storage place. Just great service. 10/10. Thanks for everything!

The storage unit with a ladder walk up, left much to be desired. Anything heavy would be like impossible to to leave here so unless I get a bottom unit, I’m gonna have to pull out before the month is out even though it’s been free and find a place where I can at least put heavy stuff in, otherwise I love this U-Haul place. I’ve been using it for well over 20 years not for storage but for trucks and supplies it’s better than it ever ever was. It’s super top-notch, modern and friendly as ever can be the people and helpful.

After a rough couple days with very little sleep moving up from Manhattan it was a huge relief to have friendly, professional help with returning and storage. Max is definitely ready for his assistant management position and went above and beyond to help me get my storage unit set and truck returned. Anthony’s leadership and poise were critical at drop off and he has been very helpful resolving discrepancies with the New York pick up location. Make sure you hold on to these guys.

My problem was with the sales rep on the phone. She didn't realize that the storage box on the second level had access only by a stairs/ladder. It was very difficult to get into, pipes in the ceiling and a difficult angle. I wouldn't have been able to manage if my son didn't tag along last minute. The general manager at the Salem, MA location was EXCELLENT and should commended for how he handled the store as it was getting absolutely SLAMMED with customers while he only had one other employee to help him. You all need to give Mr. Chery a raise and get him more staff.

My storage unit looks like it might be the runt of the litter, but it gets the job done. The storage unit door does not have the U-Haul logo and painted number as the rest of them do, so it seemed like maybe I got the trash pick. This unit was the last one of its size and fits all of our storage needs, so we make it work.
