MATHIS BI got into my truck and there were boxes from the previous driver in the front seat which I had to remove. Upon returning the truck cleaned and swept they charged me a cleaning fee. Keep in mind I moved furniture of which doesn't get the truck dirty. I have used this location 4 times and never have been charged for this. I will be going to a different location next time.

He was so rude and so not trying to understand and definitely not customer friendly he even said to me can you make sure you don't come here anymore and go rent somewhere else!😰😱😭

DAVID RFirst, I want to make it clear that the people working here are great - really excellent service and the trucks are clean. But, I had two problems. One was being charged an erroneous fee that was associated with someone else’s name and state. It took the person helping me a long time to solve the problem (not his fault - entirely a lack of response from where he had to call). The second problem was that the truck I drove was not mechanically sound. The backup camera only worked on occasion. Second, the truck has a transmission problem, or something. About half of the time, it wouldn’t accelerate, revved loudly without moving for 10 seconds before switching in to gear.

SARAH CThis U-Haul location is a scam! I rented a van that sat in my driveway the entire time I had it, used only to move a few light household items, and somehow they decided to hit me with a $150 “damage deductible” for scratches that would not have been possible for me to do. This U-Haul’s entire process is designed to trap honest customers. They rush you through pickup, skip a thorough inspection, then later claim damage once you’re gone. It’s shady, it’s lazy, and it’s completely unacceptable for a national company. If you ever rent from this U-Haul, record a full video of the truck before leaving the lot, every dent, scratch, and mark, because they’ll gladly make you pay for someone else’s mess. This experience was beyond frustrating, it was dishonest and disrespectful.

JESUS VI had three prior rental agreements before I ended up at the Jefferson Avenue location. I I was supposed to rent the equipment at the Saugus location, but when I showed up, they didn’t realize that the trailer had not been returned so I was directed to the only other location that had it which was 12 miles away. This greatly impacted my day since I was driving long distance and didn’t want to get a late start. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get started till noon time because of this conflict with scheduling. I’m really not very happy with UHaul, network of keeping track of vehicles is very poor, which caused me a considerable amount of wasted energy. I will say that Jefferson Street location and Salem the staff was excellent and went out of their way to make sure I got what I needed.. that was the only comfort dealing with your company. I felt I should have been given a break on the price of the rental since I had to struggle to get what I needed. I don’t think I’ll be using U-Haul again.
JONATHAN JYard technician supposedly checked all trailer lights before leaving the property with the trailer attached to my vehicle but when I got to my first stop with there were lights that were not working. Had to call road service for repairs which took an hour out of my loading time while I sat and waited for him to finish since I already had the trailer partially loaded. More thorough inspections of equipment leaving the store would be recommended.

I have a storage unit at this location as well as renting equipment/trucks when needed and Anthony has been extremely accommodating throughout all the years we've had business together. Jamie is another long term and amazing employee as well. He's always willing to go the extra mile and work with you, to get your needs met and find any solution to any type of issue that might arise. That's exactly how Anthony is too. Then I met with Louis when I picked up the truck a few days ago and he was wonderful too. He was very kind and funny and I really enjoyed meeting him. He was extra helpful, thoughtful, and happy, which made my mood change from dreading the big move in front of me, to lightening up and having a few good laughs! Courtney SAnthony is a horrible human being. I really dont understand why Uhaul lets him represent them. Just look at the Google reviews! I will NEVER go back, and my online review is coming. Also the traiers light didn't work and half my rental period consisted of waiting for somone to come fix it. On top of that I was made to return the trailer to a location way out of my way, after paying to drop this off at Lyndon. Had I known this prior. I would have never rented. Really not happy about that.

JOSEPH MI was forced to postpone my initial booking due to a medical emergency and my call was received with compassion and kindness. The same was true at my rebooked rental. The team was courteous and efficient. I should have asked a run through of the dashboard and rearview mirrors, but I managed. My only complaint was with the moving help I hired. They arrived at 3:15 when they had said “between 1&2” making myself, my sister (2ladies in their 70’s) and my SIL load the truck and then we were an hour late returning the truck. The UHaul team was, again, very understanding.

DAVID Y1) Staff did not initially have photographic evidence of the small scratch they charged me for. 2) The photo they did send a few days later was small and blurry, and included zero identifying information like a license plate or a time stamp. 3) When requested, they failed to send proof that the photo was taken of the van I rented at the time I rented it. 4) Manager answered my questions vaguely and indirectly, or flatout did not answer them. He said things like "the photo was taken from the contract," which does not even make sense. How is a photo taken from a contract, and how does that answer for the lack of identifying information in the photo? They were all polite and friendly, but their shakey evidence and dodgey answers to my questions make it seem like they were scamming me, and possibly others, out of money. Definitely never using a different company next time. I recommend Uhaul require employees to keep more thorough video/photo evidence for any damages, to make sure they aren't taking advantage of people.

MARIE WWhen we arrived later than our scheduled pickup time, Anthony abruptly told us our reservation had been canceled even though I had received a notification 5 min earlier from Uhaul prompting me to check in. He “started the reservation over” but the system was slow and he carried on a conversation with a female friend (not employee) during the entire encounter. He was not helpful, not friendly, and complained to his coworker that he couldn’t wait to be out of there (it was 9:30am). When asked to add another driver, he sent us the text to do it ourselves; other locations have taken the license and helped with it. I did not feel confident he had our best interest, I would avoid going back there at any cost. The Saco location provided much better customer service.

However, with that said, I chose to self check-in and was able to put in photos of my license, etc. but then there was no option to actually get the truck so I went inside and they told me they disabled the feature because they were so busy. That is ok BUT your app needs to notify the users that they need to go into the office (i.e. your app needs work).
Mark NWe had to move during "h*** week"—on the dreaded August 31/September 1 days in Boston. Anthony Gambale personally made our difficult and stressful move much easier, while every single member of the staff was professional, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. Every detail, even the ones we missed (like requesting overnight storage) was handled with cheer; we were given the option of larger truck for move-in-day, which was radically better for our needs. Even when we brought the truck back just-before-deadline on move-out day, and offered to unload in minutes in front of the storage building, they said not to worry about it, but if they needed the truck that quickly, they would tell us. It was near closing, and they even provided a few minutes of labor to speed the second-floor storage unit loading up. This was DisneyWorld level customer service. We were impressed.

I literally was in line to pick up my reservation for a van I rented for 24hours and witnessed them accusing a customer of damaging a truck so they had to charge her $150 even tho she paid for the damage protection plan. The costumer was angry and demanded to see before and after pictures of the truck before she returns it back. The same employee that told her she had to pay the $150 yelled out that it will take DAYS for them to get those pictures she wants. The costumer left and it was my turn to get checked in for my reservation. As I’m signing away he then tells me that I should get the protection plan because like I just witnessed, if something happens to the van it will only be a $150 charge if I didn’t get the protection plan it will be full price for any damage. I went on to add the protection plan. When I go to return the van then next day, one of the employees checks the van and tells me I’m all set and that they will email me a receipt. 30 min went by and I noticed they charged my credit card $160 dollars and then 1 hour later I get the receipt via email saying $150 dollars damage fee with no description of what was damaged and $10 more for 10 more miles I added to the van which is correct because I had estimated the mileage less then what I put in the van. When I tried calling them they put me on hold, I waited like 5 min. Hung up and called again, was put on hold AGAIN! I gave up and contacted my credit card company. It’s bs because their is literally like 6 employees standing around doing absolutely NOTHING! the person that originally checked me in to pick up the van from the beginning was doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when I walked in, they sent another employee to check the van and lied to me saying everything was all set, that I’m good to go. they will charge you the damage fee probably to pay those useless employees that are sitting around doing nothing. i will NEVER go back to this location.
Sharen PAfter I dropped off my rental I noticed a “safe trip fee” added to my bill. I mentioned to the service person when I checked out why my price was higher than when I booked online and was told it was local taxes. That’s fine, but this is not a tax, a random fee. I rented a trailer and it looks like this fee is more geared towards truck rentals. Not a fan of sneaky fees.
