Luis at the Salem U-Haul location was so understanding and helpful. He made a very stressful situation less stressful and more manageable. My three children and I got to where we needed to be safely with our car in tow. We are so grateful for his professionalism and kindness.

William BAnthony is the best in the business. Trucks are always ready to go and clean. I use Uhaul quite a bit at least once a week. If I have made an error making my reservation anthjony gives me a call to make sure all is good. If I leave something behind, he takes care of me. I have never had a bad experiance there and I have never had a better experiance than this location. customer service at its finest.
MATTHEW DLuis was extremely helpful and friendly! He answered all our questions while smiling the entire time. Luis made us feel like the only customers. Our rental was clean and ready when we arrived. The return was easy too. Luis clearly loves his job and we appreciate all his help!
COURTNEY SCustomer service was horrible. Rude beyond belief when asked a question while returning vehicle. I wanted him to walk around the vehicle to check for damages and he took it as a personal attack. He made me wait while he finished us with others, which was fine. Then he decided to go move a vehicle around in the parking lot which wasn’t critical. Then he finally comes in to take care of me, gives me a receipt with no mention of a damage free return. When asked, he got very defensive and told me to read the receipt. The receipt had no mention of damage of lack there of. I’ve had a problem at this location being accused of damage, that I proved false by the photos I took before hand. He was even rude to my wife who was waiting in a car to pick me up. You’re not doing the company any favors keeping him dealing with customers.

William SI rented a trailer to move a load of flooring. I was not informed There would be a fee to drop it at a different location. I was never asked if I would be returning to the same location. There was no mention of a fee to return when I dropped it at a different location.I was charged $130.extra on my Amex.About an hour after I dropped it I began receiving back to back phone calls from the original rental location . They left a slightly threatening message...."you better go back and pick it up and return it to us.That is our trailer!" I had to block the calls to stop the constant harassment .
CHARLES JManager was rude, not helpful and would not check me in or I would have to wait one hour. Suggested that I have to check in online, but the location service would not work. They seem overwhelmed and short staff. I would not recommend this location until they have appropriate staffing! Poor experience!

AARON GI spent almost a half hour waiting in line to pick up a trailer I had contracted for on line. Because mine was a day rental, this loss of use time reduced the value of the rental to me.

Robert MWhere do I start....paid for my reservation, informed the person I wouldn't be back until late, due to the event in NH. Even said may need it following day. Was informed was not rented out. Now comes where im running behind on the day. Not once, but twice, back to back phone calls confirming I was bringing back tonight due to another booking for the ren4al. No issue. I personally took extra time outta my night to bring back the uhaul, and make sure it was good. Fast forward to 7am. Got charged for another day, then got told because I didn't use the self check in feature I was charged extra. Then the person on the phone tells me I was threatening them because I gave them an ultimatum: fix this or I will dispute it. No, their life was not threatened, nor was their body harmed. But yet giving a choice was a threat. Garbage site, and garbage company for letting that dribble happen. Disgusted.

Douglas WIt is clear that customer service is the last thing this location is concerned about.Anthony is extremely lacking and is very rude. This is not the first time I have an issue with him. I thought it was a one off the time before but he was even far worst this last time again. As a result of that, I will never ever rent from this place again. I would rather drive an entire hour to rent from another place. He has no regard for people’s time and is disrespectful. Two people walked in to try and tent and after waiting for a very long time, they left without even being acknowledged by him. I was waiting to finalize the return of the truck and I also left.. the truck was old and noisy and steering wheel was off. As for Anthony, that is who the manager is, what will make you appoint him as a manager when he has no social skill and is literally causing customers to leave due to waiting ridiculous amount of time for him.. You ask for this review as if you care about the quality of your service.. you could not possibly care. If you did, you will not have him dealing with customers.. I decided to rent storage from another company rather than U-Haul as a result if this last experience.. bottom line, after yesterday, I have sworn off doing any business with U-Haul. Today I advised my friend who was looking to rent a van and storage to seek a burger company.. if you want the Salem Massachusetts location on Jefferson to stay in business, you would not have him as the manager and perhaps give him a position where he is not interacting with customers.. it is sad because at one point this was a good service location.. but no more..
Linda CPicking up the truck was a good experience overall, returning the truck, there was only one employee, and he was somewhat rude...clearly overworked, however! Get more help!

SHERYL SWhen I opened the door to the back of the truck I was shocked to see how dirty it was inside. Not only was it dirty, but it had an awful smell of sour milk or trash. There was also a piece if restaurant equipment still left in the truck. I had to clean the walls myself and spray with air freshener just so we could get the move done. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the truck in general.

EMILY FTruck was extremely squeaky, as if it was about to fall apart. I was also told the tank was full. I drove 5 miles total with the truck, and when i went to fill the tank before dropping it off, it cost me $14, which tells me it was not actually full.

BARBARA GSecond time I’ve been overcharged. Picked the truck up at 1/4 tank, returned it at 1/4 tank, wasted $10 on gas at a price of $2.77/gallon, so about 3.5-3.6 gallons refilled, and they STILL had the balls to charge me for 4 gallons + a $30 gas refill fee. Horrible scummy management

I walked in looking for a truck I had to wait about 35-40 minutes to because they didn't have the truck but he was waiting to see if someone that had the truck reserve was going to come back to get it when they didn't I then got to rent the truck he was very helpful.

My vehicle had died and we had to have it towed to Salem then after encountering an issue with the tow truck driver we managed to work together to jump it and get it up on the trailer. We had a long journey ahead of us driving back to North Dakota and they were so helpful making sure we were all set. We are so grateful for the help and efforts of the Salem Uhaul associates. 10/10🏆
