The pickup was smooth, pleasant and quick. Unfortunately, the return took much longer than expected. Only two people working and six customers, two of us were returning a U-Haul. Other than that it was a good experience.

I only drive 4.5 miles. The contract said half a tank (1/2). I had my kids forgot to dispute the tank before I drove off upon my return the company charged me $14 dollars for 4.5 miles. That is wrong. Some type of discretion should have been used for that charge. I did not even use a gallon of gas. I think the representatives should accurately check the gas hand before and after use so the next person won't be charged

The reason why it was not clean and inviting was because there was a lot of construction going on, that interfered with this location. Other than that everything was fine. Thank you.

I used the mobile app which said that I could just show my phone to the attendant and go get my rental. The attendant simply said he already rented my truck and I had to wait for them to assure me they had another truck. They did, and it ended up being fine, but overall the experience was poor because the location was far from my house

This was one of the worst Uhaul experiences i have ever had. I made my reservation out of a different location and i got informed 2 days before my long distance move that both my pick up location got changed and the equipment wasn't available. They changed my equipment out and before paying for the Uhaul, I specifically told the manager i would not need the uhaul for all the days i was automatically given and 100+ additional miles i was being charged for and asked if i would receive a refund of the additional miles, and i was assured that i would receive the refund. 2 weeks later, i'm being told I would not receive any refunds because my trip was a one way, when this is not what i was told the day i picked up the Uhaul. I wouldve never paid for it if Uhaul wouldve said they would charge me an extra 2 days and 100 miles up front. I wasted over an hour on the phone with customer service on 3 separate occasions now, the store manager Ramon refuses to help and the Regional managers wont respond to the calls. This is the last time I use Uhaul.

Maintain your vehicles ..... I should not have brake fade and warning lights on the dash .... almost returned the truck but I was on a schedule .... the brakes felt like they were about to expire

Drove around for 40 minutes trying to enter the facility. All roads were closed due to road construction told me they were gonna shave off some of the mileage. Want to be reimbursed for one day can not return the vehicle as promised

The employees at UHaul of Oakland get 5 stars - helpful and friendly, and I was able to get in and out quickly. Truck worked just fine as expected. I dropped a star as the rental truck was rented to me with only 1/4 tank of gas, forcing me to fill up en route. I understand they don’t have gas on-site, but would encourage UHaul to figure this out and end this inconvenience.

Please check that the truck doesn't have broken parts before re-renting out. There was a broken "rub rail" inside the truck we ordered and drove off the lot with so it was difficult to tie off and secure the last section of our load. it would have been even better if the staff and identified this and got it fixed before re-renting the asset to customers.

Ricky at U-Haul of Oakland - 5330 International Bl Oakland, CA made our experience! I will only refer folks to that location because of him, and hope the company what an asset he is to the U-Haul brand and compensates him accordingly. He is a problem-solver and after checking my vehicle, he knew it wouldn't be able to comfortably hold my items, so he transferred me to another type of trailer. He checked to make sure everything was working and when the turn signal wasn't lighting up, he switched out the light transmitter in my car doing some sophisticated electrician work. He worked swiftly with expertise and care, and I am CERTAIN that if I went to another Uhaul location, people would've let me walk away with a subpar or untimely solution. (It's happened before.) Thanks so much Ricky!!

Experience was BAD at this location. The U-Haul employee was rude, and said we would have to pay around $50 if we didn’t fold the equipment blankets? That was ridiculous. The first location didn’t tell me to fold the blankets? It seemed like this location just wanted to be a jerk. It was hard to get to, and in a very scary part of town. I would never tell anyone to use this location again.

I was over charged and the entire process was rude and as if i was being degraded on picking up the rental. I will never use U-Haul again. I will never recommend U-Haul ever in fact I plan to file a complaint and contact your mail headquarters corporate office to let them know directly how I was treated.

Great help from staff as we tried to deal with a stolen Uhaul truck stolen due to weak door locks and ignition guards. Lost within two miles of this Uhaul site for two weeks due to no GPS on Uhaul trucks.

Ana at check in and the nice gentleman who brought the uhaul were outstanding! Best service I have received at any uhaul location ever! Hayward location should be trained at this location. Returning vehicle was super easy as well! Employee who received our truck was friendly and efficient and greeted us with a big smile outside. He quickly provided a hard copy of our receipt for expense purposes. Thank you for making it easy during a stressful move!

I had to pick up the hitch from another location and I wish someone had suggested that I get the truck from that location too because it was a major hassle to drive to Hayward to get the hitch and drive back to Oakland to get my car.

Took time to explain the mileage limit on the truck on an extra fee of $0.40 per mile. However, while not the fault of the location or personnel, but the corporate policy of Uhaul, the flat rate and included mileage appears to be the approximate mileage directly from one Uhaul location to the next, with no extra added to get from Uhaul to your move-out and move-in location, plus extra mile(s) needed to find a gas station nearby. While I ended up going only 2 miles over, my move locations were a fairly straight line between the pickup and drop off locations.

Staff friendly, not helpful. First off I never rented this thing. This is the worst expirence I have ever had with any retailer. It took 2+ months to get this resolved. Won't use uhaul again
