To begin we were guaranteed a 20ft truck (the only size that would work for moving to a new state) at a specific location nearby. The day before pick-up we were contacted and told that truck size doesn't exist at the guaranteed location and we could drive to a further location for a 15 ft truck (way too small!) They should've delivered the truck to our location instead of making us drive 3 hours round trip, taking 3 hours out of a workday and losing us that part of a days paycheck and wasting our time and stress. Once we got the truck unloaded and headed to the storage unit we'd pre-registered and that was included free with our one way truck rental, the trouble and headaches kept coming. We were originally given a 10x5 at another facility, but when we got to the unit, it's actual measurements were 5x5, even the worker said that happens, that U-Haul's dimension of storage spaces don't always match the dimensions they advertise them as, he measured it for us for confirmation. We had to call customer service (plus 15 minutes of in hold time) to locate another facility with the size we needed because the store was unable to look it up or call them. We had no way of double-checking with the new facility whether they actually had the unit available in that size, and the worker at the one we were at wasn't able to for us (ridiculous they can't call another store locally to check!). We had to blindly drive to the new facility. Upon arrival, check-in was smoothish. The young man wasn't thorough and missed some things we had to correct for him. Then he sent us to our unit and forgot to come unlock our unit for us so we had to go remind them we were there 30 minutes later to which the guy said he'd forgotten we were there. He didn't warn us of the sticky trap on the floor of the unit or point it out at all so I accidentally stepped on it moving something into the unit and ruined the bottoms of good running shoes. All of this made us late for our rented truck drop off time, and lower on fuel for drop off than we were supposed to be, we wouldn't have been if this hadn't all been wrong. Not only was this a drain on finite fossil fuel resources, it was a waste if our time, adding an additional hour of driving around for U-Haul's mistake. This all also made us so late that we missed a ticketed event and were unable to get a refund. Very dissatisfied with the company and the customer service as a whole for wasting at least 5 hours of our time, energy, and emotions.Heather P.

I did not receive the appliance dolly that I had ordered. We made it work on the move but the people I spoke to did everything they could to get me one prior to the location I picked up my vehicle from closing. After the fact, I was not charged without question and I believe the situation couldn't have been handled any better. Staff was rude and not personable at my pickup location. Truck was dirty when I picked it up, I had to clean it. Check engine light was on in the truck. Dropped off the equipment an hour before the time due. Two staff sitting on site doing nothing instructed me to "park it anywhere" and they would check it in. After dropping off the equipment and leaving i receive an email receipt the following day with an extra days charge added With other options to rent equipment just avoid this location. I can only assume it is laziness or maliciousness that lead to charging me more than they should have. Either reason is enough to never go back.JARED RUSSELL E.

When I walked in and asked who I should speak to, he pointed to the other guy and continued to talk to his co-worker about personal issues, basically ignoring me. The atendent acted like he really didn't want to be working on the day I picked up the trailer, when he hooked up my trailer he checked the lights, said everything was good but when we got on the highway we ha no break or turn signal lightsMichael K.
The dollies I had reserved months in advance were not available at the time of pickup. The UHaul representative explained that dollies and moving pads are not inventoried and consequently may not be available as reserved. That it is quite perplexing. Thankfully, the pickup location had an appliance dolly that could be substituted. Otherwise, the reservation, pickup, and dropoff all went quite smoothly. Thank you!Mark N.

My experience and interaction with the staff was a notch above outstanding. I did my pickup on time and had to return later that day for a small ball to tow and the lady working the counter ( hair in pride colors) was simply AWESOME. This location was excellent, but I am disappointed with the overall U-haul experience. I was able to reserve a trailer online, but then five hours later I received a call saying they didn't have a trailer available. I had to drive 40 mins to this location to get a trailer (and obviously take it back to the same location), which was extremely inconvenient. And then when I mentioned the $50 guarantee when you reserve with a credit card Steven from the Muskegon, MI Apple Ave. location was a (excuse my French) complete asshole.NATHANYU HARDY G.

The equipment condition 26' truck was beyond poor condition and sub standard for uHaul. It seriously shook so terribly we felt the cab would come off the truck. The dashboard bounced around as if if was hardly attached to the frame of the truck and the tires probably should have been replaced 15,0000 miles ago. The oil light came on within the first 20 miles of the trip, and was a half quart low on oil, so it obviously was not maintained prior to being rented. The vehicle needs some serious attention before continued to be rented outDAVID C.

Would NOT recommend. Truck broke down before we reached the destination, upon further inspection oil was super low and truck was out of coolant. We were given a ticking timebomb! Trucks should be inspected before given to customers! Extremely disappointed. Even the tow truck driver told us we should have used PenskeMegan B.
