Make sure that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle before letting a customer rent it. The first van that was rented out to me was leaking gas and that can be very dangerous. And the 2nd van that got rented out was not clean in the interior or the exterior. The cleaning crew and the mechanics should do a better a job.Aaron A.
The employees were very unprofessional, cursing and leisurely on their own time and phone. The U-Haul was dirty, with leaves and dirt in the back. I had ordered to rent a dolly, and there weren't any there for me to use. My reservation was from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., I was assisted at 10:30, and waited in the lot for 20 minutes just for someone to tell me there was not a dolly for me to use, so I didn't start using the U-Haul until 11:00 but was still expected to bring it back by 4:00 p.m. . When I called to let them know that I was running an hour behind and my stuff was in the U-Haul but I would get it back as soon as possible I was told I can't extend the time due to someone else already reserving it, although I reserved it for the amount of time I needed it for and did not receive it for an hour later. This was a horrible location, a horrible experience, and very unprofessional.Brittany B.

My reservation which was confirmed was somehow lost in the system and I was forced to change my plans and wait another 6 hours for a truck that was considerably more expensive than the original I reserved. Objectively, the equipment was clean and we had no hassles with the truck itself. However, we filled the gas back up prior to returning the truck and were still charged extra for more fuel despite this. Additionally, we were double charged for the rental and insurance when the truck was returned the same day (morning to evening). My truck wasn't available at my conformed pick up location so I had to go to another location. The wait and travel and everything the local staff had to do to find a truck set my home move back nearly 3 hours, yet I wasn't even offer extra time to keep the truck. No one apologized or valued my time in any way. It made a stressful day miserable. Amazingly disappointed with your company and customer service.JOHN L.
I was told I had to find my own truck and it was not in the location it was supposed to be. When I finally found it after searching the entire lot in a thunderstorm it was FILLED with trash (I have photos). I demanded another truck and after 20 mins of waiting, I got another one. The new truck had 3/8 tank but I was required to put in 1/2 tank. The mileage was much lower than my contract stated costing me an additional $50 (I have photos of this also and I'll be disputing the entire charge with my bank). Every person at this location should be fired. In the office I was standing near 6 other customers and the attendant was cussing at me and saying he didn't care that I was upset and he had no control over which truck I rented. Uhaul is a total joke and every single online review reflects this. I rent around 20-25 trucks a year and this experience will change who I get my trucks from. Whoever has the responsibility of reviewing these comment should be ashamed of themselves if no action is taken after reading this customer experience.Tony S.

Had to wait 45 minutes. They had to clean the truck as there was trash in the back. Staff couldn't find a key to the truck so he had to cut a new one. Rented an appliance dolly as well and asked for it twice and they told me it was in the truck. When I arrived at my location it was not in there. Tried to call the store and they gave us the information to a U-Haul that has been closed permanently for years. Charged us 2 times for a dolly we didn't receive. Terrible experience overall.Erin C.

I reserved a truck with EZ lift and was given one with a ramp. Asked for an appliance dolly and they didn't provide it in the truck. I forgot to double check before leaving the rental place because trusted that, since they asked me to confirm that I needed one during pick-up, they would actually put one in. Had to drive back to pick up the dolly and use more miles. At the end I was told that they would reduce the number of miles considering that it was their mistake and that I would receive the receipt online. When I did, nothing had been adjusted. I would recommend sticking to the reservations made online. I made a reservation for a 2 hour truck rental to pick up a refrigerator we purchased and paid the $57 online. When my husband picked up the truck an additional $77 was held on his card and he was charged an additional $24 for Safe move and he made sure he returned the truck with 1/4 tank of gas as it was when he picked up the truck. We had the truck for exactly 1 hour and 45 minutes. The next day my card was charged $129.07. This is ridiculous, I called the 800 number and spoke with someone and explained my frustration concerning all of the above and I was told that location doesn't have a district manager, so an area manager should be reaching out to me within 24-72 hours. I'm hoping that someone reaches out by Monday as the rental was on Wednesday 10/6 and the charges hit our card the next day. Needless to say I am a very unsatisfied customer at this point.DAVID C.

The folks that work at this location work tirelessly to make certain every runs smoothly, although a lot of the customers seemed a bit restlessness and unhappy. This HAS to be the busiest UHaul location in Louisville and using the app makes it a breeze. The guys were working late on Sunday evening checking in 8-10 vehicles that came in all at once. My phone died during the app check in process and the staff jumped right in to help. They are truly dedicated and handled themselves with grace under pressure!! Kudos to them. The truck was not clean at all in the cab. As soon as I got home with it I realized there was no drivers side headlight so roadside assistance was called and came the next morning to fix it. There were dead roaches and bugs all in the cab down inside the door compartments and cupholders not to mention the infestation of live roaches crawling up my legs and neck while driving! The office is very unorganized and hectic however I understand, it seems short staffed like everywhere else. I'm just extremely disappointed in the entire experience and had to extend my days and pay more money to keep from having to infest my new home with roaches due to having to stay out of the truck almost 2 days to spray and try to kill the roaches. I normally never complain or give a bad review but I'm beyond disgusted with my experience with my rental!LESLIE E.

I was scheduled for a 9am Sunday pickup. I stood in line for almost an hour before I was waited on. There were initially 7 people ahead of me in line. At least one person left before being served. I think the problem went beyond being understaffed. First, I was overcharged. I was originally scheduled to return the truck by 1:00 pm. I knew I could not do this because of scheduling timing with closing on my new condo was not flexible. So I CALLED UHAUL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO DISCUSS. THEY TOLD ME I COULD DROP OFF THE TRUCH UP TIL 4:00 pm and NOT BE CHARGED A LATE FEE. I RETURNED THE TRUCK AT 3:00pm. BUT WAS CHARGED A $40.00 late fee. Second--the location was severely under staffed. I waited in line for nearly an hour to check out, only to find that I did not need to wait in line and that I could have been checked out in less than 5 minutes outside had there been instructions provided. Stop the false advertisement, don't allow customers to reserve if you don't have the truck available. I reserved a week in advanced arrived on time for my reservation and no truck was available. Just a pure waste of time. Pay your employees more so they can actually be motivated to provide better customer service. This business should be sued for this false advertising of a â€œconvenientâ€ â€œeasyâ€ 24 check in bullshit â€œtruck guarantee on arrivalâ€. The clerk was so slow and wanted to chat with every customer about random things that had nothing to do with business. The staff needs to be trained to work quickly and efficiently! It was a JOKE! It did not seem to matter that I am the client and without clients they would not have a job. Everybody just took their time and their was a line of people waiting. I think that once your truck is confirmed it should be there. I got up at 0500 to be there by 0700 and there was not a truck for me. That is just wrong. I hope that in the future that no one else will have to go through this. Greet and acknowledge the customers. Make mobile pick up to where you don't have to wait in line at the counter. Your employee didn't acknowledge us standing there. Didn't stop her conversation with other employees to provide customer service. And when I returned the rental no one was at the counter for at least 5 min. Another customer had to go find somebody because he had been waiting for awhile. She comes in the door with food, left the desk unattended because another employee said they didn't know she was gone. Do not have one or two people work a busy shift keep running in and out of the offices. Fix your online reservation process it's absolutely horrible. Have two separate lines for people with/without reservations and fix y'all's AC. Last but not least if you send a customer to another location on a weekend make sure the other location is open that day. Horrible just horrible. In the past two days I spent three and a half hours standing in line to be helped with a not so difficult process of renting an somewhat affordable truck/van. 0/10 never again I will go to Home Depot next time if I really need a truck that badly.Josh A.

I had a reservation at 12 o'clock. I was there for two hours waiting for the pick up and trailer.. I got a text on my phone that the trailer was not there and at a different location and the guy waiting on me had not said anything Within that two hours everybody behind me walked out. Should not have taken two hours for me to find out the trailer was not there. After going to the second location the gentleman was very polite and helpful. 26' truck was in poor shape, it was beat up,it smelled, could barely see at night with the headlights and had horrible power stearing. Lots of problems at check out. Inexperienced workers, computer issues and long wait times ( I was in line for about an hour and 4 customers ahead of me had been there for over an hour already). I was there two days in a row and waited an hour and a half the first time when I was the first person in line, then I waited two hours the second time, waiting in line and then sitting with a manager for a long time because her equipment would not work. I didn't realize I was supposed to take a picture of my mileage when I returned the 2nd truck until after I dropped the key. I drove the exact same miles with both vehicles but was charged much more for mileage on the pickup than for the 20-footer. I don't believe I will ever choose UHaul again.CASSANDRA N.
The scheduling was a little rough because the online calendar is not tied to the calendar of the actual location of installation, so U-Haul corporate could improve that. But, once I talked to the installer, I was well prepared for the actual installation. He told me it should take about 1.5 hr, but to plan for a little longer, just in case, and he was finished in just under 1.5 hr. I was able to read in a waiting room to pass the time (WiFi was available, but I didn't need it). Love the hitch warranty and that it is able to be utilized nationwide. As long as the parts and installation hold up, as expected, this will be an all around terrific experience (except online scheduling).Cassandra K.
