I drove up with a trailer and pulled into the drop off. No one was there. When someone showed up, they said I had to drive the trailer to the back of the lot. There were no signs for this separate drop off location. I had to back the trailer up from the first location with a bunch of cars around me because the guy wouldnt move a truck in front of me. Then I had to weave through a bunch of trailers and reverse it again into a tight spot. The whole process is unnecessarily burdensome on your customers.RYAN C.

To whom this may concern, My name is Naomi Kumasi-Nakuru and I wanted to inform you of my UHaul experience. I picked up my rental at 12pm 06/14/2021 from the Candlestick location in San Francisco (Reservation number 27808332). When picking up the vehicle I was asked to complete an equipment verification to ensure that everything was intact. After completing the inspection, from what we could see the vehicle appeared to have no discrepancies. I was able to safely drive the vehicle to my home in South San Francisco so that we could load the truck and prepare for our move. At 4pm, after fully loading the truck, I made sure to do another walk around and luckily I discovered that the driver's side rear outer tire was flat. I initially called roadside assistance, but after being on hold for 65 mins with no response from a rep I decided to return to the renting location in hopes of getting this issue resolved. At 5pm we were finally helped by a customer service agent, and she was able to connect us with roadside assistance (Reference Number 2125316). Roadside assistance arrived at 7:30pm and I made sure to ask if he could inspect all the tires to ensure there were no other problems. The mechanic brought to my attention that not only the outside tire was leaking, but the inside tire was also severely damaged. The tire looks to be ripped, torn and unsuitable for transportation. I want to emphasize the severity and danger of this situation. Uhaul has placed me, my son, and my husband in danger. This could have resulted into a fatal accident, if I didn't decide to do another walk around inspection. These vehicles should be audited and safely tested every time before fulfilling a customer's reservation. Families are putting their trust in your organization to deliver quality self-moving services in the most safest way possible. One of Uhaul's core value's is â€œImproving human lives.â€ not â€œEndangering human livesâ€. I can't stress enough on how much of an inconvenience this has been and how the condition of the vehicle we received was unacceptable. I truly hope that this never happens to anyone else. Although the mechanic was able to fix the tires, if this was not caught in time many people could have gotten hurt. I hope that this message is treated with the up most urgency. The center console for the truck was pretty dirty, to the point where I did not want to use it. The Sales Associate forgot to give me the trailer slip to give to Alberto, so by the time I went back, got the sales slip and have it to Alberto the vehicle check and inspection feature had expired/times out. I was instructed to just take good photos on my phone and that would be fine. I will say, however, Alberto and Jose were the NICEST guys to work with. Alberto explained how everything worked and gave me great advice. He was super helpful and could not have done a better job! I would definitely recommend this location based on Alberto's service alone. 10 out of 10!PETER W.

I've had bad experience in the past( years ago) so I tried budget instead. I reserved a 26 ft truck with them and the day before the move they called and said they didn't have one and couldn't find one for me. I called directly to this u-haul in San Francisco and spoke with Sara. She got me a truck on a Friday afternoon in the summer time. When I got there another employee helped me. He was supper professional, quick, and helped me with everything I needed. They saved our move!ANTHONY M.

I chose moving help via your recommendations. I have been charged extra monies by Moving help for services not received. I was charged $275.00 and $332.00 and $330. One group confirmed today but did not show up. Another group never responding to my chosing them to load/unload. The group Julius's 5 came today and helped us. I got in at 6:45 and the staff that was working refused to allowed me to move into my unit. So as a “favor” they “allowed” me to park my open trailer with all my stuff in the hitch bay. I do not understand why you say you’re open until 7. When I came the next day I was told that no one knew how to open the hitch bay and that I had to come back at 3. They also told me that they don’t understand why the people on Saturday didn’t let me move in then. This was extremely inconvenient. Then, even though I reserved a ground floor unit, it turned out to be a 5th floor unit with steps that had to be climbed to get my stuff in. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere and was not what I reserved. So I had to upgrade to an 8x8x8 on the third floor to avoid the steps which is costing me considerably more money. It also has a column in the corner so it’s not really an 8x8x8. The column is easily 1x1x8 so why am I paying for an 8x8x8? Doesn’t seem fair. Lastly, zero of your male employees were masked berating a mask around your neck or mouth doesn’t count. Suffice to say, I’m looking for another place to store my stuff and judging by my experience on Saturday evening, I’m guessing no one really cares so. I also need to say that while there was some effort to remedy my situation on Saturday there is no reason I couldn’t have been given my card and allowed to move my stuff in. My “staff friendliness rating” was based on the Saturday crew. The Sunday crew was much more helpful and I’d give them a “yes” for this question.allan g. | First Impressions

The Staff was amazing at pickup and drop off. Fast, savvy and personable. One gal offered to assist, though her backpack was on and she was off the clock. Her just as wonderful coworker stepped in and helped me. I rented the 15' truck and failed to check the fuel gauge. When I picked up the truck, the fuel was just a tad over a 1/4 tank. I returned the truck with the same fuel level and when I got my receipt, I was charged $30. I checked my contract when I picked up the truck and it showed the fuel gauge as a tad below the 1/2 gallon tank, which was incorrect. Going fwd, I'll be sure to check the fuel gauge b4 leaving the lot and hopefully U-Haul will record the correct fuel level.ALEDA G.
The experience of picking up my truck was absolutely terrible. The confirmed location changed 3 times without my knowledge. It was terrible communication on uhaul a part. Once I was finally told the third location of my truck, Bayshore Blvd, the pickup proceed was easy and the customer service was excellent. The worst experience EVER - first the location on Bay street saw my reservation but said they had nothing available due to a glitch and didnt see to care that i made this reservation a month in advance and called everyday the week leading up to me need the storage for a week and they confirmed it but when i arrive they tell me otherwise. What is the problem with you people? I have money in my account, my account is still the same and nothing has changed. I have been a customer with you for 5 years and my account has been on auto payment the whole time. You have to first request payment from my bank and in turn, they pay U-haul as they have for the the last five years but you already know this and that's why I believe you periodically try and scam or deceive customers into delinquency with their storage rooms. Please do what you were supposed to do in the first place and request payment of $129.00 from my bank and refund the late fees. This was the worst experience I've ever had hands down and you better believe this won't be the only place I'm reaching out about it. every review channel every phone number you have... expect to hear from me. After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra $120 to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S $40+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. I waited for a very long time for the sole staff available (20 min). I had rented an 8x8x8 storage. She had to unlock the storage first, yet she chose to take care of the next client. After waiting for an additional 10 min, we proceeded to my storage unit. I discovered that a quarter of the unit was occupied by a very large column (2.5 x 3). She mentioned she knew about it and almost insinuated that I should have known; she insisted that it was an 8x8x8. The unit was useless to me as I needed to place 2 large items (a couch and an erg machine). She refused to upgrade me. She refused to help out finding an alternate facility. I eventually had to drive close to 30 miles away to be able to store my items. A terrible experience unlike the one at the Oakland Coliseum's.
