I had a problem with some one name Linda telling me that uhau had a storage all the way cross town and they did not.so I felt that I should not pay for those miles. When I return the truck I had the worst consumer service with Kayla Dessenberg. She was very rude and she had very bad body language . She say to me when I ask for the manger she say for what. It was my problem. That if it was her she would have done it better and different. and she would not give me the manger name. She told me to just get over it was not uhauls problem. I said to her yes it is and that I will be reporting her she said no problem. It is just !0 dollars and said yes but it is mine. I walk away because She really was making me mad. Horrible experience. Had a unit on the 3rd floor for 3 years. The elevator was broken at least 75% of that time. Was given 1 month free. Unable to get my stuff without hauling it down 2 flights of stairs and down the ramp. Staff didn’t seem to care and had no resolution. Charging people for something they can’t use. Every unhappy with the customer service at this place when picking up this unit. Had a pack up time at 4:30 pm. To witch i showed up early "4:20pm" to get. Did not get it hooked up you my truck until about 5:25pm. I am very unhappy with the customer service I had Thursday. Was told to pull under the green awning. The guy was checking on a truck I waited. He looked at me and asked what I was doing. I explain that I was waiting for him he says why I an picking up a trailer. Well I can wait until I an done. So I waited, about 10 mins later to told me to back up to the trailer. Then he asked for my paper work I told him I sid not have any that the guy inside explain me to show him my email with the confirmation . he then told me that was not good enough. . . just very unhappy. To the point i dont even want to rent anything anymore from you all. I spent 80 some dallors to be treated like that. Not only did it take me time to get hooked up almost and your later I get treated like that spending that kinda of money. I feel I was treted poorly. Drop was good. The staff are great and the location is convenient. I honestly had no issues with the staff or the facility in general. Unfortunately, there’s always a ton of homeless people milling around outside and trying to follow you in and the big garage doors don’t close right behind you. I had a guy try to take stuff while I was making trips between my unit and my vehicle, and the ramps to the second level aren’t fit for anything larger than a sedan, so I had to park on the street. This place is in need of an update and needs a security guard to watch the back ramp doors. Additionally, 24/7 access and 24/7 security should be a thing at every U-Haul. Like I said though, the staff are great and doing their best. I had zero issues with staff and Autumn was always a pleasure to talk to. I think any storage place in Norfolk is bound to have the same security issues.Matthew A. | Overall Experience

I got caught up in unloading and unpacking, causing me to miss my return time. This place called me 2 hours after my time and said they needed the truck for another customer. I apologized for the delay and promptly brought the truck. At this point, I was 2 1/2 hours late and find out they charged me for whole extra day. But, someone else was renting the truck so they were double dipping on charges. The lady at the desk got very irritated and angry when I asked her to explain why I was being charged a whole day, but couldn't keep the truck for the time I was being charged. And, she kept saying I was a day late, when it was less than 3 hours. I will never use, nor recommend Uhaul again for any one to use. Worst experience with renting a moving truck. The employee did not input the correct outgoing mileage of the U-Haul. So when it was time for me to return the truck I sat there for about an hour for customer service. When I finally got connected with someone he gave me a different mileage to put in and I had to retake the pictures to input and everything . It was annoying !! Perhaps the representatives could reveal the exact location of the vehicle so that the customer is not left to trudge through the rain to find the number on the bumper. Give a call with more than a 24 hour notice when your company is changing the pickup time and location of a trailer. This caused a big inconvenience in that someone I had helping me move had already taken the day off of work to help making them lose money when the trailer wasn't even available. Secondly, when you get the trailer in, GIVE A CALL! If you've changed my pickup time from 10am to 4pm, but you get the trailer in at 2pm don't wait for the customer to call to tell them it's there early. My only issue was the elevator is broken and I needed a unit, which was on the 2nd floor pushing really heavy stuff up a steep ramp on a cart was really difficult as it was just myself and my two teenage sons. The storage units are made out of plywood and chicken wire. Not secure or safe. It is not ventilated and very hot. Access to the storage is almost impossible. Cant fit uhaul into the storage area and even a normal car is a very tight fit. The 'gate' is broken and not fully.closed and looks.like it's been pried open on the bottom. Zero stars. It was not communicated that the elevator was Not working in the rental process. Although inconvenient, it would not have been a problem if the 3rd floor unit had better stairwell access. Due to the narrow stairwell entrance, we were unable to move any large pieces of furniture into the unit. Due to this, my couch is now sitting in my fiancé’s apartment. There is also no indication that the elevator will be fixed anytime soon which makes removing my belongings a a nightmare. I would not have rented the unit if I had known about the access issues. Apparently the facility had a broken elevator for quite some time. When I tried to move out I had to carry my furniture down a ramp. Much of it got broken as I attempted to do so. Some kind of notification should have been given especially since they still accepted full payment of the storage rent! Also there were rat droppings on most of my belongings! Roaches. Stinky. Scary. Two roaches hitched a ride and ended up in my brand new garage. I had to throw out all cardboard immediately and scrub garage to prevent an infestation.
