At pick up I followed a customer into the store that had parked illegally in the handicap spot. My wife and I parked further up. While I was talking to the rep Dymond. She identified the customer as her girlfriend and I remarked about using the. Handicap spot. At this point the girlfriend shrugged her shoulders....Dymond explained to me that nobody follows those rules and I should mind my own business. Then the both verbally abused me loudly before Dymond ordered me out of her store. ....... Won't be back . You guys are the worst at customer relations. Horrible......really bad .....all recorded if they were working

Staff were very friendly and efficient but did not understand (or did not communicate) U-haul policy accurately. I was told that my rental included UNLIMITED MILES through the 4-day rental period then AFTER that period, so starting day 5, I would have up to 800 miles (as in pay an additional fee for each consecutive day, drive up to 800 miles during those consecutive days without yet being charged per mile). This is not explained well in the contract either, especially given the above context. The charge rate per mile was also never communicated with me and I didn't see anything about it in the contract, so imagine my surprise when I encounter an additional $100 charge at a full dollar per mile after bringing the truck back EARLY. I am hoping to hear from customer service and/or will be disputing the $100 charge with my credit card company if it shows up on my statement.
Making a huge life change and moving 900 miles by yourself is already SO stressful and expensive, the only redeeming quality of my overall uhaul experience with both locations is that a truck was available and got me from point A to point B.

I fear somebody or U-HAUL in its own capacity is engaged in a dishonest at best / fraud at worst fuel surcharge scam. Keep in mind, everything about the transaction and use was perfect. Except for the starting fuel. I was told the fuel gauge was at 11/16. It was under 5/8 (that’s 10/16 for the math challenged) and I have a photo to prove it. I brought it back way up at 13/16 in case the person who is either dishonest or bad at math miscalculates again. It seems without very specific measurements you may want to err on the the side of the customer.

Truck was very tired. Pealing, sticky steering wheel - I had to wear gloves so it wouldn’t rub off on hands. Ripped driver seat. Doors were dinged and driver door flew open upon a turn. The latch on driver side appears bent.

First order is to start with customer services on pick up date. The representative attitude was not pleasant or welcoming. The truck was raggedly. As I drove, it sounded it as if it was going to fall apart. I thought maybe it was something in the back, but once I made it to the destination, there wasn't anything in the back. On the return, customer service was just terrible. The directions clearly stated to remain with the equipment and a representative will come out and check equipment. Once I arrived, I honked the horn, no representative. Approximately 10 minutes later, I honked again, no representative. I went inside to find the representative with the same unpleasant attitude, sitting and talking with another employee. There was not a response from her regarding me sitting and waiting in the truck on a representative, only stated that she needed the key and receipt will be sent to my email.

I had to wait for a new car dolly due to the fact that mine was defective. After calling customer service and explained the situation, I was informed she's just a "note taker". Then I was transferred to a manager who I had to explain the entire situation to as if there were no notes taken. I was awarded one extra day for the truck and the dolly. Then I was immediately charged as I was pulling out of the parking lot for what I told would be no charge at all. The only positive thing I can say about this entire experience was your roadside assistance. I was on a time sentive trip and they had me up and running with a new car dolly in about two hours and were very helpful. I will not leave any negative reviews online, but I do intend to be refunded what I was promised.

Both ladies, the one who helped me make the trailer rental reservation and the one who assisted me upon return, were very helpful, friendly, and professional. This was my first visit to this particular U-Haul location, and I can say it was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had. Unlike some other locations where friendliness is sometimes lacking, the staff here truly made a positive impression.

I returned the U-Haul 8 or 9 hours early than what I needed you. When I got there to pick up my money because I use the cash deposit there were charges on there that were discussed that we're going to be taking off prior to me leaving the facility and it was not until thank God I had video footagey talking with the assistant general manager about charges that were supposed to be to taking off or removed when I return the truck but they weren't so instead of the staff members taking my word for it they would not remove the charges until I show them the video validating what I was saying was true I thought that was tacky and poor customer service because the thing should have been adjusted prior to like I was told it was going to be done I won't be using that location anymore very disappointed

Staff was very rude. They forgot to put the add on items in the trailer. When I came back, there was no apology and they had me grab everything i need myself. All they did was point me to where it was. They weren't even sure my trailer was there when I arrived. Super unprofessional and rude. They also told me they would make me pay a cleaning fee if I didnt fold the furniture pads, which i found kind of wild considering the furniture pads weren't clean and I had to drive an hour round trip just to come back and get them. Would have loved a discount or just an apology. It seemed like I was inconveniencing them by even coming back.

So the vehicle was handed to me with 7/8 full tank. I was told I would be charged $4.75 per gallon if I returned it with anything less. How the hell am I supposed to know when the tank is 7/8 full?
Also - my estimate was $82.55 - based on driving it 40 miles. I drove it 35 miles and yet I was charges $91.97.
I won't be recommending U-Haul to any one, and I will avoid doing business with them myself as well.

The on-line reservation process worked really well, and I answered all the questions and provided the picture of my license, etc. for Contract: 91408754. Most importantly, I declined the Safe Move $15 fee. When I arrived, I was asked the same questions again, almost had to send a picture of my driver's license again, and also verbally declined the Safe Move $15 fee again. After the rental, I returned home to find out I was charged the Safe Move $15 fee. Everything was a great experience except that specific frustration. Now it will take more effort on my part during a busy time to resolve.

The van I rented had transmission issues making it difficult to move from a stop and the fuel gauge was broken. I returned it with a full tank so much so that the gas pump would not allow it to be filled any more. But since the fuel gauge was broken. I was charged for 2 gallons. Clearly no one actually tried to fill and and just looked at the broken gauge. And was unjustly charged $16

Nothing to necessarily something to improve. But just a comment that The location is tough to pull in and out of since it's near an intersection and keystone so it can be tough with a large truck or van
But thats a minor thing. The benefit of having a location near by in this part of the city that's fully stocked outweighs that.

The trailer had mulch in all the corners and in the front, I was not charged for bringing it back dirty but it was a concern that I might be. The young lady who hooked it up to my vehicle did not mention she knew it was dirty. I didn't have a broom with me so I left the mulch in the trailer

Uhaul truck had many safety issues and should not have been allowed to be rented out. Broken side mirror, non functioning parking break, a windshield visor that would fall into the driver's view.
Return experience was just as bad waited 5 min in the truck for the employee to check the truck in. After they never showed. I went inside, the employee was on their phone with the headphones in. No one was in the store. She said she would be right out. 5 minutes later she finally came out and checked the vehicle in.

Improve the ride on trailers. Suspension is so stiff the ride is very hard on the cargo. In my case, the stiff ride bent the structure of what I was hauling, even with picking the smoothest route to and from, driving well below speed limits and taking turns at almost a creep.

I reserved a car hauler at a much closer location and when I arrived to pick it up they said they had accidentally rented my reservation to a walk in. So I had to pick up and deliver at a different and farther location. It would be much appreciated in the future if reservations were held for the person that initially reserved the item and not provided to walk ins.

POOR COMMUNICATION! My things were destroyed from mice poop. I bought insurance when I first moved my things in. When my things were destroyed the insurance couldn’t be found. I was told I had renters insurance which wasn’t true because I moved out of my house I didn’t have renters insurance. Corporate said they seen my insurance, but the insurance company did not. The general manager kept saying he was going to talk to his boss and never call me back this went on for several months. As a result my things were sold. All of my memories were in there. My photo album with several obituaries were in there. Jewelry my grandmother gave me before she passed was in there. This was THE WORST experience ever. 0 out of 10 they are not for their people. The general manager said he was going to have his workers go through my things and take pictures to show his boss that never happened. I will NEVER use them as a storage again.

The area to load/unload your car was full of debris including shattered glass both times we were there. It made backing up all the way to the platform impossible. It would also be helpful if there were ramps available instead of stairs inside the storage area.

I must say this was the worse experience I ever had renting a uhaul. Had to rent 2x within a month. Got charged for something on 1st rental, never got receipt so don't know what it was. Trucks not checked in at time of return so receipt suppose to get emailed. Was put on automated payments for a storage unit I never had. When I called I was told he would get to it when he got chance. He has customers. When I'm a customer that already paid and was still paying for service I didn't have! Now I have to wait for uhaul to return my money! Unprofessional and rude!

Space was easy to access and convenient, clean, and loading and unloading not difficult. Only drawback was some slight water intrusion into unit. It really only impacted a single box and that was full of towels and blankets and a bookshelf shows some slight water marks on bottom. Nothing major and that can’t be remedied but otherwise, nonissues at all.

I’m not blaming the staff, as they were friendly and apologetic, but we waited over an hour to be helped upon arrival. We were 4th in line. Everyone else was renting vehicles, except us. Listening to the people in front of us, I could tell that nobody’s reservation was going smoothly. Slow computers, an invalid driver’s license, not enough vans to fulfill all reservations, etc etc. Once we finally got access to our unit, the loading dock area was full of broken glass, so I couldn’t back my car up all the way. The whole thing was inefficient. Friendly staff was the highlight.

When I paid off my daughter's
bill & went to empty her unit I couldn't get in bcs they didn't lift her pin number restriction. No one was available to assist. Last person I talked to offered a $100 pay out AFTER I couldn't get in which wasn't my fault...I went back AGAIN 2 months later to pay and empty the unit but my daughter's belongings were auctioned off from what I was told was possibly by mistake bcs her bill wasn't on a lien as of yet. I was told someone would call me and resolve the situation but I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. The automated service sends you in circles when you call...This IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS! 😞

This storage unit met my needs during a time of change in my life. The facility is sometimes swept, but sometimes there’s junk that’s been dumped on the floors for day. There were several times I visited with people’s possessions dumped out outside beside the loading dock. The bathroom was out of toilet paper the time I tried to go. There was rarely a time when I could access the initial box to enter the code because there were trucks and trailers in front of it. The loading ramp is hard to access because it’s a tight squeeze with trailers and trucks parked in front of the entrance. The facility staff were nice and helped when my code didn’t work or I had trouble accessing the box. It was easy to sign up and I’m glad I could get in by the next day or within hours of paying. I’d love if they could prorate a month, since I moved out in the middle of a 30-day billing cycle, but that’s minor to the code boxes being consistently difficult to access.

From the past manager to the current one Bryon. It has been the most convenient and easiest experience with UHAUL. Any time i had an issue, rather it be payment and or just getting access to the facility. They were always there. With a smiling face and welcome energy, as if they were happy to help. Good people are hard to come by these days, however you've managed to keep good ones around. For the past few years while i have been renting from you. I really appreciate that. The lady that rented the unit to me entered the wrong information and a letter was sent to someone that should have never received the letter. No elevator or lift to get to the 3rd floor units. Storage units are not all that secure. Anyone could kick thru the wood doors.

This storage had a water leak for over 2 years and never notified me to let me know that my stuff was destroyed and molded and wet I had to come up to this facility and was getting ready to move out find out that my stuff was Destroy overall I really had no problems with this facility sometimes you could call the phone and no one never answers but when you get there someone is always sitting at the desk or maybe out in the garage smoking a cigarette on the phone but if I had to re-rent I will probably use you all again thank you and have a great day

I had problems getting in contact with management when I needed help. When I signed up for automatic payment arrangement they would charge my bank card twice every month, I would have to call for the inconvenience. I was promised a discount for signing for automatic payments and never received it. After I moved my stuff out of storage I found that I am missing a lot of my stuff, I am missing pictures for my decorations, lamps, and a few boxes of clothes. I do not know where they are or why they would be missing

All of the staff at this location was respectful, friendly, courteous and just Awesome. If you send in secret shoppers to the other locations [pendelton pike] with adults well beyond their 30s and the young adults at the[ keystone ave] they will put them to shame. With staff like them keystone is my set location. Moving is stressful enough. Those types of people keep your customers coming back. This was for my mom. I was done with Uhaul after my last experience. My reservation was switched to a terrible far places that costs me more than I ever paid when using yaw. Those young adults renewed my faith in yaw.

I've only had my storage unit for a few days, however it's clean, accessible by car or Mass transit, indoors with Indoor/outdoor security cameras with 7am-11pm accessibility.
Only grip is there's no elevator, so plan to walk with items up to 3 flights of stairs & or the incline walkway to side entrance.

The layout was a lie, there is no easy access to the 2nd or 3rd floor. The units doors don't even go to the ground, so our goal or storing a piano was quickly met with failure. We didn't even bother breaking that tag of the storage unit we just left and requested our contract be canceled. I've never seen such a sad excuses for a storage unit, especially considering it cost the same amount a proper storage unit would cost.

I was told by the phone reservationist the facility had a freight elevator to move my furniture to the 3rd floor, so I accepted a third floor unit. When I got to the facility, I learned there was no elevator in the facility. When checking in, the service agent didn’t appear how to input data into the computer. He kept making mistakes and had to redo most items. When I asked if this basic info was in the system because I provided it when I made the reservation. He responded, “ Don’t get me started about the call center.” My movers were waiting to unload their truck and were getting quite impatient. They estimated my fee based on time and had not allowed for a 30 minute check in at the storage unit. These things need to be addressed by management and corrected if I am to recommend U Haul.

humidity control (musty,, mildew) is understandably sub-optimal on units with outside walls; single dehumidifier for large square foot facility - more of a facility design issue (U-Haul corporate vs. local management); less of a problem for units central to building
Bill Meguschar. and staff do a fine job - good service, friendly, helpful, work to resolve any issues and in general a pleasure to do business with; would recommend to others and use in the future
cost increases were regular and not as price competitive as some, but I utilized the facility for longer than expected (ended up with 2 units @$150, $300/mo total for over a year) so this was inevitable

Recommend putting in ramps and remove the stairs by the unloading docks. It was a pain using one cart to unload things from the trailer, then transfer to another cart and then push stuff to the unit.

We canceled our storage unit as sooon as we saw it. There were plywood walls and water satin all
along the bottom. There was standing water outside the storage garage as well.
Staff was kind and helpful, found us another UHaul storage location to go to.

The office area was clean and nice.
The storage area was awful. The unit I was shown to had thin plywood walls with water stain about three inches up. Additionally there was standing water outside of the storage unit by the entrance. I was not about to leave my furniture there!
The helpful staff found me another U Haul storage facility not too far away that was newer and had cleaner storage. That worked out for us.
You need to redo your storage facility or charge way less, I would not have even stored my things for free there though!

The service was exceptional! I give it 5 stars. The storage facility is clean, but is multi-level with stairs and no freight elevator. There is a steep ramp. Loading is precarious and a safety issue.
