I put five- only FIVE- miles on the truck and was charged 27.90 for 4 gallons of gas when I returned the truck. A truck that supposedly gets 1.25 miles per gallon is not a well maintained truck. When I called to question it, I was told the charge would be removed, but in actuality only 9.40 was credited back to me, and it wasn't even attributed to the fuel charge, it was taken off the rental rate. I'm disabled, and I had to have assistance even getting in the truck. I did not put gas in it before I returned it. I admit this fully. I would have quietly accepted paying for a single gallon of gas. Not 4. I was charged for not gas I used, but gas for the NEXT customer. I or my roommate had used this location twice in the last 2 years and been relatively happy, even recommended it to others who went on to rent there. Never again. We will actively speak against Uhaul at this point and will rent elsewhere in the future.Jillian H.

I made a reservation with Uhaul multiple weeks in advance. I chose a pickup location within walking distance of my old apartment and a dropoff location within walking distance of my new apartment. Two days before my reservation Uhaul told me that my "guaranteed" reservation was unavailable and moved me to a new pickup location that was like 5 miles away and forced me to take a $20 uber. Then on the day of my reservation, Uhaul also canceled my "guaranteed" dropoff location and moved that to a new, further location that also required an approximately $20 uber. You didn't honor either of my reservations, you canceled them both the week of, and you screwed me out of $40. Horrible experience.Andrew M.

i did not receive any customer service from pickup location all the way down to drop off. I'm still waiting to hear from corporate for some kind of compensation. i had to detach & park the rental trailer after the rep inside told me the guy outside would do it. Was dragging & sparking chains after rep hooked up trailer causing me to be stopped by Arizona trooper (25mins) & get a warning ticket. Entire uhaul experience was a inconvenience. This location gave me a 26 foot truck that was shaking like crazy & the brakes kept slipping. I had to hit the brakes about 5 times to get it to stop & ran through a red light because of it. I took a Lyft back up there to tell the mgr Eugene that I've been trying to contact their roadside to come get it cause it's unsafe. He said he'd notate it so I didn't get a late charge or anything. They towed it that night I specifically told the mgr Eugene I didn't want them thinking I didn't bring it back or acquire late fees & he said he'd put specific notes in there for me. The next day I get a call from someone saying I didn't return the truck. I told the it was picked up by UHaul's roadside svc & he said it doesn't show that in his notes. This experience was a nightmare starting with your Horrible, user unfriendly self check-in app. I tried for 45mins & couldn't get it to work, so then I had to reserve a truck at this location. I was 2hrs late with my movers waiting at my home for a truck.lakiva R.

I've been renting from various Uhaul locations or over 9 years and over the last two years I have drastically reduced renting from Uhaul for various reasons,: poor customer service, too long wait times once vehicle is returned, etc. Recently, I rented a cargo van and that customer service experience was stellar and restored my faith and loyalty in Uhaul. I was immediately greeted with a warm greeting from Terrance Houston. He was efficient, product knowledgable, thorough, and very friendly. Upon returning the cargo van, to my surprise I was immediately greeted again from Cyrus Martinez. He genuinely inquired about about my cargo van experience, and verified my information. Cyrus also had great customer service skills and very approachable. Terrance and Cyrus are exceptional assets to Uhaul and I thank them for a great customer service experience.. I am, however, most thankful that Uhaul recognized their talent and skills enough to hire them. It's a undenial testament of their management. Keep up the great work! Paul WPaul W.

Truck had transmission problems and staff tried charge me nearly $199 for the rental plus the $70+ in gas after giving me a truck on E and demanding I return it with 1/4 tank (15gal) of gas. UHaul did not have my moving container on a trailer for when my move was scheduled. This caused numerous issues with the movers I had booked through them and resulted in my stuff only getting to me 5 days later than scheduled. My original location ended not having my uhaul rental available at the time of pick up. Was then sent to another location that refused to be able to let me drop off the uhaul at my original selected location. Rep at the new location I was forced to go to was unhelpful, disinterested and was clearly focused on upselling me as opposed to trying to make it right. I will commend your company for holding my storage as long as you did, but my biggest complaint is when I received a message stating I could get my items at no charge, then not giving me any way to access those items. The items in the storage were my deceased brother who died not long after Covid started. I received a message from Erica at 24th st and McDowell office stating I could come get my items at no charge. I was working at the time and did not get the message until after they had closed for the day. I went down on Sunday with the means to get the storage cleaned out and was told the lock on there was unable to be opened. So I had to leave and not get my stuff Sunday. I called immediately when they opened Monday morning as my storage was due to go to auction and was told there was nothing they could do. I felt that this was the worst thing you could do to somebody, make them think they can get their items and not give them anyway to get it. I still have not even been contacted about the personal items that should have not been included in the auction. I expect this from Public Storage, but not U-haul. This storage unit was rented for my son who had to move out of his ASU apartment. When he went to check in he was told that he didn't have a reservation. After arguing with the desk person his reservation was found but it was pulling teeth to have him show my son the location of his storage unit. His card and code would not let him have access. The desk help used his card to open the gate and told him to call yesterday to get a new code. He called yesterday, got a new code, drove his car packed with all of his belongings to the storage unit and the CODE did not work. He has to be at work at 8:00am today with a car full of stuff. Everything was great except for the account platform. I set up autopay for all 3 of my lockers day 1 & somehow 1 magically came off of autopay & I was charged an late fee… the same thing happened the following month but in the 2nd month, it was 2 of my lockers that dropped off of autopay causing me to pay 2 late charges. In total, I had to pay 3 late charges due to a faulty system & had to make sure to pay manually every month due my lack of confidence in the system. I had a different storage for a long time. I wasn't comfortable with drug addicts pretty much living in thier units, and always hanging around the outside. About half the staff were not wearing masks even when leaving from behind the desk. The storage facility recommended for a 2 bed 2 bath was far too small for what we needed and had to change units.
