We opted for the retun via cell phone as it was after hours. We did the whole process but the system kept giving us error at the end. The pick up was very confusing; we did a online check in but all the informatin was asked again. the person at the desk did all he had to do but seemed burnt-out and almost annoyed. I reserved a 10' truck & got the reservation fine. Then 2 days later, they called to tell me I couldn't have it for my required time so I got a van instead. The van didn't have a license plate which means, it was not inspected by the staff before I picked it up. Trying to utilize the app is cumbersome and ended up not working. Had to go inside and the agents tried to help but were also less than interested in figuring out why the app wasn't working. Only one employee was working and I had to wait over a half hour to pick up. Employee was very helpful and this doesn't reflect poorly on him at all, just the company. I rent from Uhaul 3 to 4 times a month for work, at various locations around my city. This one is the worst by far. They are however the only location open on a Sunday so I had little choice. This last experience was less-than acceptable. Open at 9? Great, I show up 8:55. The employee intending to open the store shows up at 9:25. Doesn't necessarily start us off on the right foot. Now I'm late because of uhaul, again. The truck itself (26') was â€œok.â€ Somewhere between clean and dirty, somewhere between well-tuned and broken down. Upon returning the truck I was told by an employee (with his Covid mask under his chin) that I HAD to do a self check-in, on my phone. I apologized and told him that I did see in the digital â€œpaperworkâ€ it was recommended but not required. He said it is now the way it is done. When I apologized again and told him that I didn't have my phone with me and that I drop off at many other locations and am not asked (dismissively and disrespectfully) to do it myself, he said something about me â€œreading the signsâ€ (none of which indicated that I'm required to do a self-check in, by the way), told me where to leave my key and walked away. It was so unprofessional, and frankly, clear that at that moment, he just â€œdidn't feel like doing it.â€Matthew Z.

The worst experiene I have ever received from Uhaul. First of all, no one was wearing any mask, and the agent was facetiming with his girlfriend while i waited for more than 5 min until I complained to make a scene. No one ever wore masks when I was in the office, or they put them on as I walked in. I moved all of my items out the day my next payment was due, but they would not let me end my lease because I didn't provide 24 hour notice. I understand that those are their terms, but they were able to end my lease and chose not to so they could acquire another month's rent. I confirmed this with corporate. Also, I had to come back from over an hour away to remove the lock a month later. Neither the furniture dolly or the utility dolly or any of the furniture pads were on the truck when I picked it up which I didn't realize until I got it to my location.. It was completely empty. I did not have the time to go looking for it as there was a snow storm coming. I was under the impression that it was going to already be on the truck when I picked it up so when I go to my house and opened up the back there was nothing in there. I had a horrible experience and this location was terribly unorganized. I called the day before moving out of my U-box to confirm its location and that I would need to access it the next day. When I arrived the next day, the man at the front desk was on his phone the entire time. It took over 15 minutes for them to find the number of my U-box and then I was led to the warehouse. They did not know where my U-box was and had no record of where it had been placed. I had to look for it with an employee for over 30 minutes. When we found it, it was inaccessible. The employee had to call someone from the front desk to bring the keys for the forklift to move the box that was blocking the door to my box. We then waited for another 15 minutes. Once my box was accessible, there was a metal bracket screwed in to prevent anyone from opening the door. I had not requested this or ever been told this would be done and the employees didn't have a screwdriver. We then waited another 30 minutes before an employee pried it off. To top it off, they never recorded that I moved out of my U-box and was charged an extra month of rent. I only had an hour reserved at my apartment building for the freight elevator and missed it because of this location being so unprepared and unorganized. I will never recommend anyone use a U-box from U-haul.Samantha F.
