Had a great experience at this U-Haul location. I needed a truck/van to move some furniture. The owner greeted me Saturday morning and advised me on my options. I ended up with a van rental just for the day. The van I was given was in great shape - nearly brand new with only 1300 miles on it and clean as a whistle. Had the rental for a total of 4 hours and return was smooth and simple. Price was based on mileage and flat rental fee, and while it was more than I would have liked I think it was very fair. Would definitely recommend this location and owner.

The unit I was given has taped over holes in the roof…. I brought this to the attention of the staff working that I was concerned my belongings would get all wet because of the poorly tape holes and was told “oh is it a giant whole missing or what does it look like ? Because if it’s not a large hole we just tape over anything else.” Avoiding answering the will my belongs I’m moving in there going to get wet ? She was nice otherwise not her fault. But to not be offered a different unit or to be even be renting that out like that kinda sets the tone of this place. The price is about the same anywhere else with climate control which this facility doesn’t have all outside units so that really doesn’t make it worth it. There is an abandoned building assuming owned by uhaul because it’s right next to the units falling apart inside just asking for squatters. Overall you wouldn’t think this quality would be something you’d find in Cicero more something you’d see in the city. Had to move that day so no choice but to use this unit for at least now but would not recommend to family or friends

It took over an hour to get the rental once we got to the store. There were 4 other people waiting who had reservations at the same time. Staff should have accounted for this. Why do you charge 19.95 per day and still charge 19.95 for 4 hours???? What is the point of not keeping the truck for a whole day then???

We wanted to swap trailer from person that had tractor/snow blower on it without having to unload the equipment - even though we both arrived at location within 15 mins of closing time, Alicia did the transfer & stayed past the closing time, being extremely. helpful in our endeavor,, Saved us a lot of hassle of trying to move a tractor from a trailer to a pick up truck!

Lisa and Phil were very attentive and helpful when I picked up and dropped off my rental. I would highly recommend this location just because of the employee that are there. The outside of the truck was filthy. Inside was clean. Truck drove terribly and the brakes made the truck shake so bad I almost turned around and went back. But I knew I only had to go 40 miles. Truly disappointed with the quality of the vehicle.

I picked up the truck from this location for local move. We left the facility and went back home that was only 2 miles down the road. The truck broke down. We called the pick up location with no one answer. Then we tried the 800 number and luckily we got connected with someone who helped. The rep on the phone even tried to call the location with no one picked up. The rep helped us to call for road side service and then asked us to go back to the center for an exchange of moving truck. We went back to the center and the rep was surprised that the truck needed to tow back to recheck as he said that was rented for moving the day before and it was found!. The rep at the center was not showing understanding and said it was strange! His comment made us felt uneasy made my son felt horrible. I complained this manner to the rep from the call center. He shown understanding and told us that that was not our fault of the failing truck!. Also I complained to the rep about this whole incident and the delay caused me troubles on moving! He found me a supervisor called Ashely and said someone from UHaul will call me directly for compensating of this issue. However, No one called since then and I have been busing on moving. I expect a manager will call me back @ 347-563-8222 for compensation.

When dropping off the rental, the employee came out quick to start the return. There were several notes in the file due to extended rental with the weather as well as a rented dolly never being provided. Both the pick up location and the 1-800 number employees stated the drop off location would be able to adjust the final bill. The employee who completed my return laughed at me and said that’s not how this works, she would be charging me for everything, and I had to call and file a complaint against the pick up location. After drop off I called 1-800 again and that employee was able to process a refund but again reiterated the drop off location should not have charged me to begin with.

The truck was a driving nightmare. The headlights were not aimed correctly. Making it very hard to drive in the rain. The window crank knob came off. The vent did not blow any air out. Was also unaware that it did not have cruise control.

I reserved my equipment to tow my vehicle from Fort Drum to El.Paso TX. Truck and toy hauler through the 1800-uhaul. I asked several times to make sure my equipment was 100% guaranteed and at the location, gave my vehicle information etc., I paid plane ticket to fly el paso TX to Syracuse NY. To find out customer service booked the wrong equipment no safe to tow my vehicle and the right equipment nowhere around the area. Called customer service and all theu said is sorry nothing we can do but give you $50 dollars next time you reserve with us seriously?? I am a military service member and I already told all my coworkers about my experience and that I will never do bussisnes with uhaul again. I had to drive close to Rochester to luckily find the only toy hauler in the whole region. Drive back to.syracuse and up to fort drum. Disappointing, I spent so much on gas amd time that I will never get back.

I couldn't get into my storage unit because someone hit it with a car or truck and broke the door so I couldn't get in for over a month.

Mold growing on exterior and interior of storage unit. Water and ice in the unit. I would say this was due to the not so bright idea of removing the gutter system. Mouse feces showed up this spring. I was careful to never store food in the unit. This made for a moldy/mouse feces experience- left ASAP. To finish, the leaf blower you use to drive the leaves, needles, and cottonwood balls into my bin made it in about 4-5 feet. I hope you reached your objective....that is pissing me off-. To conclude, I wonder if you traded in the leaf blower for a broom and shovel would lower your BMI and increase your customer satisfaction?

When i emptied my unit out there was insulation and mouse dropping all over my stuff which was definitely not there when i moved it in. The gate to get in was wide open and no code was needed so anyone could go back there. Only good thing was going inside to tell the workers I’m closing my unit out. Never again.

There was a misunderstanding on two storage units that I reserved. When I spoke to the associate that answered the phone, she was courteous and understanding. She said she had to check somethings and would get back to me. She was not able to complete the transaction that day but did return a call and said she would get it taken care of. The next day she was able to complete it and responded by phone. GREAT customer service!

The only positive was u-haul allowed me to settle what I owed before I moved out of my inside storage container. ALL of my furniture had mold and bugs all through it. King size serta icomfort mattress ruined. Solid wood table & chairs ruined to mold, dressers ruined to mold. Bugs (spiders, stink bugs, centipedes) and signs of mice. Also through the container and belongings. This is the Cicero NY on brewerton road, location.

Needed to change unit after the ceiling fell out and damaged my things but after attempting to many times by visiting the workers in the office and making phone calls no change was made. I also asked several times about getting refunded for the last full month of October and 11 days of November. At the very least I wanted the remainder of November refunded since I was moved out on the 11th but have still not gotten a response. Uhaul is not the storage facility I would ever choose again or ever tell friends and family to use.

Although the woman was very nice when I was there I had to unlock my card and did not have my phone with me she said she would put the payment through after I got it unlocked. It it was only about 5 minutes later and she did not put the payment through, so when I went back to put my stuff in the unit I could not get in. Left a message with the GM who did not call back and missed a day of work the next day to get into the unit.

Just yesterday I emptied my storage unit out I had to stop at the dump to throw a practically brand new loveseat sofa worth $700 because it was soaking wet absorb ton of water had mold between the cushions very displeased I will never recommend anybody ever use a storage unit I called to see what kind of recourse I could take in a lady pretty much said nothing we also paid for the monthly insurance sick to my stomach for having to throw it out

Customer service was non existent at this location. I would drive over to the Taft road store before dealing with the woman in charge here. She needs a class in dealing with the public, ie. saying, “”Sorry for the wait”; “Sorry for your trouble in the yard (gate wouldn’t open, broken lock) . Waiting lines very long. My unit had insulation droppings all over my belongings for over a year. I complained in person to the person at the counter and also online. Was never given any solutions other than my own follow up to contact them during the week to "schedule" a time for me to move my belongings so the could clean it up. I had to clean it up myself several times and clean off my personal items of the droppings. The unit had insulation damage at the time of issue and should not have been given to me. As I travel for a living I am not always available and is why I haven't moved out before. Very unprofessional and is main reason I removed my items and rented space elsewhere.

My storage unit had a leaky roof. It ruined some of my belongings. I was forced to move my things to a different location. I was offered no help to move my things. I was forced to rent a truck from U-Haul and only given a $15 discount towards the truck. After paying for the truck and movers it cost me $254. Very unfair. I was told by the GM Philip that the MCP will not do anything else to help me. I had insurance on my storage and they do not provide any cost to move my things out of a broken storage unit.

It turned out that not only was my door broken and that let the elements and mice in, but the roof leaked as well, soaking all my furniture and electronics. My storage unit went to crap and I had to clear it all out and pay $130 to dump it in the local dump. They were kind enough to settle my month of past due balance for $100 and not charge me another month's rent for going 2 days over my due date tho.

Uhaul needs to provide better weather resistant locks if they they insist customers must use their equipment. Locks will freeze in the harsh weather , making it impossible to access storage unit. Keys for the locks are even worse, not durable at all.

Alesha Mowers was super nice and very informative. I felt like she went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and fully taken care of. I didn't have any questions because she answered any before I could ask. It's always a nice to interact with someone like her. I even arrived right before closing and usually people get annoyed with that because they're ready to go home and be done with their shift but she was happy and helpful and even made me laugh at times. I left there feeling better then I did when I arrived. Moving is stressful and having to store my things while im in-between places with my lease at one place ending 30 days before my new one starts... she someone how made all that stress just disappear. Im always very thankful for people like her. A gem. Everyone at that location was just so friendly. Thank you for hiring employees like those.

our unit was invaded by mice, which left their corn kernels and droppings all over my daughter's contents. UHaulstaff referred me directly to insurance company. Headache I dont have time for.

I was paying for 24/7 security and key card access to a gate that never got installed even after 3 months. Despite this unit being in Syracuse, there was no salting and poor plowing. Excellent staff

Need to make access available for FREE AND at ALL times 24/7 people have work school and emergencies and need to do things at their storage at all different times of the day and the week! Thank you

I would suggest salting the storage driveways as I and my nephew slipped a couple of times falling when emptying the unit. The driveways were sheets of ice. Very dangerous. I hurt my myself falling.

I love the staff! Aleasha is a life saver and the staff in amazing. When needed I'll be back. My only complaint is finding out that a mouse lived in a boot of mine and helped himself to some string.
