The steering had way to much play on the steering wheel. The gear shift lever was really loose. I had gotten the insurance and when I brought the truck back they said I put a scratch on the top of the box which I didn't. I had the insurance so they said there was no charge but I want to emphasize any scratch was not mine. When I accepted the truck they gave me the keys and said it was the second in the line but the key wouldn't work but it worked in the first truck. I had booked the truck rental a month in advance only to get a call a day before stating that instead of my pickup time being 9:30 am that it was being moved to 1:30pm. This cost me money as I had people lined up to do the move and there was a 4 hour time period where I was on the hook to pay them. Our reservation was originally for 24 hours; however, I called before picking up the rental that we would not require it that long and the Customer Service Agent was appreciative of that due to the high demand. He had advised me that if we dropped it off after closing we could do a self check-in and said he would explain that to us when we arrived to pick up the vehicle. When we arrived we had a different CSA assist us and he was not nearly as friendly or helpful. He told us our rental was DUE BACK AT 7PM as it was being rented again the following morning. I advised him that our rental was actually until 2:00pm the following day but I had called to advise we would have it back sooner and he completely dismissed it and demanded / was adamant we have it back by 7:00pm because that was our return time. Ensure customers know in advance of pick up that personal vehicles cannot be left on site when picking up a rental. I spoke to staff on 3 separate occasions prior to pick up and was not informed. This warrants an extra call or email to make sure customers know.Patricia D.
The after hours pick up process was poorly communicated. I was told my ID is enough on the phone, but it wasn't when I got there which wasted a lot of my time. When I called to keep the truck later than we'd originally booked for, the customer service was OUTSTANDING. She was helpful and made it seem uncomplicated even though we knew it wasn't so simple. However -- when we got to the store for the pickup of the vehicle, the customer service was really terrible. It was getting very busy and the store was getting inundated with customers. While we were being served, the customer service representative was talking to different customers and other staff members while helping us and we couldn't seem to get her full attention. Worker that we spoke to gave us all the wrong information, was incredibly rude and abrupt and was unhelpful. She indicated that I didn't need to fill out anything before we left, just that we had to take four pictures. Luckily I got a text indicating a form to fill out. I even asked about the form as I had rented recently. She said there wasn't anything needed. She told us to drive up on the left hand side to drop it off, when the drop off spot was at another area. She spoke poorly of her coworkers to us the customers and grumbled at a coworker right in front of us saying that "no one could do their job right" while meanwhile giving us wrong information. Found out last minute and through U-Haul's head office this location had changed my truck reservation to the largest truck on the lot. I was told it because they didn't have any trucks in the size I requested. When I went in two days later to pick up, I saw several trucks in the size I requested in the parking lot. When I asked the clerk if these trucks were for rent, I was told they were; but because, they claim, the head office changed it, they couldn't rent it to me. While I was charged the same as the smaller truck for the larger truck, because of it's size, I ended up paying that same amount in gas and really broke the budget driving it. Found the manager to be rude as well. That seems to be a consistent observation of this location. She claims I would've told over the phone that reservations are not guaranteed, without even asking or finding out that made the reservation online, not over the phone. If I had been told that they don't have my reservation and they really didn't, I wouldn't be as bothered by this. But they had up to THREE of the trucks I needed that were available. These people only get business because they're literally the only company in town.Micheal P.

The gas was half full and too big. They gave us a dirty truck that was too big for what we needed. Thus having to spend more money on gas and not being allowed on the toll bridge and adding on more travel time to an already busy enough day. Was in unit 1644 for 3 months, mattress against the back wall of unit had mold in one corner. There was a cotton mattress protector on it, and the mattress itself was fine. But water/dampness came from somewhere. The access hours were fine, but I wish we could have moved out of the unit at 10pm the night before. It was open early enough when we did move. To not have parking for my vehicle while I used the van for two hours was disappointing and an inconvenience. It would be nice if for hourly rentals you could leave your personal vehicle there. There were about twenty empty parking spaces but I was told I could not leave my vehicle there. I was gone for under two hours. Will not use this service again due to the inconvenience. I've been dealing with uhaul for almost four years. St.John's NL and Dartmouth Nova Scotia where by far excellent people to deal with good service. Charlottetown PE by far was the worst for storage. Lost all my furniture because of poor construction on the rear of the building it flooded . I can honestly say that I will never use uhaul again for storage. Also wherever I go I will tell people about my experience especially people that I consider to be my friends. I received no compensation at all. Twice in this location, some strange situations passed me. When I returned the trailer back, the same Indian (I don't really know his nationality, but he looks like an Indian ) guy served me, unfortunately, I forgot his name. The first time I ordered a trailer from 7 am to 5 pm (the order was made online), I picked up the trailer at 7.40 am and returned to the station U-Haul at 5.40 pm, that is, the real deviation from the planned time was + 40 min. Came back to the U-haul station, and this guy told me that I was 40 minutes late and now I have to pay for a new rate, not 29.95 + taxes, but already 59.9+ taxes. Of course, this caused me dissatisfaction, and he steadily explained to me that for the system I have been using the trailer for the 2nd day already, we argued with him for quite some time that the time indicated by me is an approximate time, and even if I was delayed by 40 minutes, then this is not like not the second day. But he steadily convinced me that there was nothing he could do and I needed to pay for two days of using the trailer. Only when I suggested that he go through and discuss it with the manager did he decide how to uncheck the system, so that I would pay for one day. Yesterday another situation happened, when I took a trailer, a nice girl asked me, when returning the trailer, to park it in the place from which I took it. I did this when returning the trailer, parked it in the same place, and proceeded to the office to close the order, there I was met by the same Indian guy, who said that I should not park the trailer where I parked it and that I should overtake trailer to the place that he indicates. I followed him, he pointed me to a place where it was physically impossible to maneuver the trailer to park it. I tried to park it, but due to the limited space, I only drove the trailer into half of the parking space. But the most interesting thing is that at the moment when I was parking the trailer, another Indian guy approached this guy and, speaking Indian, not English, tried to explain to the first one that it was a bad idea to park the trailer here, but it should have been parked where I parked from the very beginning (of course, I don't know a word in Indian, and I can only guess what they were talking about, but from their facial expressions and gestures it seemed to me that they were talking about what I described above). After I parked the trailer in half of the parking space, the second guy left, and the first one asked me to push the trailer by hand and put pegs under the wheels. In this situation, I was not satisfied with the fact that, instead of an accessible parking space where the trailers were located, I was redirected to an inaccessible and physically limited place, and then they were also asked to push the trailer manually. I am also unhappy that employees in U-Haul uniforms used Indian (or another) language in my presence during business hours to discuss where I should park the trailer. I am absolutely not against any language after hours, but during work, in the presence of a client, discuss my parking in other than English, I think not correctly. I hope, you are able to check the U-haul system and see who exactly closed my order two last time it definitely should be the same guy. Thank you for the chance to leave feedback. The first truck I rented was great! The second truck was substantially cleaner when I returned it than when I picked it up! I pointed out several things not working correctly and/or broken on the truck when it was returned. Also mentioned both doors being fill of garbage, even a used mask, and there were large chunks of glass behind and under the drivers side seat. Not impressed and the staff seemed very nonchalant about it. I hope they didn't send that truck back out before repairs. I won't ever use this company again.Raegan M.
