Hand my driver's license back to me. Curb the casual employee banter. Think about what the customer would like to know. The young man who went to locate our rental didn't say a word to us and we were left to stand in the cold wondering what was happening. I did not complain on-site because I got what I needed, but since you've asked, these are the things I would work on if I owned this location.

Would be nice if the person checking out the gear would review order more closely. I had reserved blankets & dolly, but it wasn't initially in the truck. When I went back in, they started to ring it up separately. Only after I noticed it very small on the receipt that I had already paid for it did things get corrected.

The person on the phone who recommended the truck size completely messed our move up you need more informed people reserving trucks. She recommended the wrong size (too small) and a tow dolly that only goes up to 55mph for a cross country trip. UNACCEPTABLE customer service. I had to pay $900 for a Penske truck to fit all my stuff and I had to pay for gas on that truck too. The window for me to drive from St. Louis to GA was FAR too short. We needed an extra day and the fact that it wasn't offered is again UNNACCEPTABLE. you didn't help me at all. You were just there. So I'll be choosing another company to help me move in the future. I am NOT a happy customer.

The location is above average for sure, but the specific vehicle I had last time BEEPS CONTINUOUSLY EVERY MINUTE to buckle your seatbelt, even if all the seatbelts in the vehicle are safely buckled. Please look into this for the next customer... It was VERY difficult to drive this around for the 3 days I had booked it

Once I found out the closest dock location everything went well. There are 3 locations for unloading and loading. I was aware of 2. The third location was closest to my unit and on the same level which made things much easier.

When I signed up online there were not clear instructions on how to complete the process. I went inside to clarify where I would enter and use my entry code. The woman that was helping me could not find my information on her computer. She “said” she searched my name, contract number and phone number and could not find me in the system. The manger (Keith Sexton) just happened to stop by customer area and found my information without delay. It was starting to be a painful experience before the manager arrived. This is why the move in process for me was rated below average. The woman that helped me did not give me clear instructions on how to get to my storage unit.

They took money that was held for the trip and upon paying for the remainder total cost my wife used her card and asked them to put money back on my card. This was on the eighth of October and here on the 20th of October I still have not received my money back due to uhaul not releasing it. So I will never use this storage and moving facility ever again nor will I ever recommend it. The fact that it’s has put me in such a financial bind that I’m living in my car now, plus you not releasing my money back to me for no reason. I will never do this again. This has put more hurt on my life than you will know or care to know. I have been on the phone for a week trying to get this situation settled and still no resolution. Highly disappointed with this company and wouldn’t have thought you would have dealt with customers like you have… I want my money back. You got paid the total cost and this isn’t right. I’m livid! That’s almost four hundred dollars. I need that to live!

The staff used a personal cell phone to take an image of my Driver License. When I asked why they explained that the system requires it. I protested because that license information is Personally Identifiable Information (PII). They stopped that process and used the system to collect the information. Very shady. Not well trained. Cutting corners. Lack of staff.

Signage at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Dutchtown is inadequate. When driving to the location, it's very difficult to figure out how to legally enter their parking lot.

I rented a 5x8 enclosed to move my daughter to Dallas. The man who installed the trailer light plug put it in upside down, I had to show him how to connect it. The trailer came off the ball going down Gravois and I dragged the trailer by the safety chains for about half a block before able to pull over. Thanks God my wife or daughters were not driving a loaded trailer. I returned trailer and got another one. This replacement trailer vibrated very badly all the way home. I looked at the tires and the left was severely cupped. The right tire was missing about half the tread, down to the casing. similar to a big truck recap coming off. I called the 800 number and they sent a service person out to fix the tires. He was in a private car, small four door with just a floor jack and no tools. He stated we would have to take them off, go back to East St. Louis, mount the new tires and bring them back. He reeked of marijuana and the whole experience was very startling and unprofessional. I called the 800 number to report this, he stated he had another service call and left. This was Dymonds Classic Tires, Inc. in East St. Louis. I called the 800 number again and they sent out Purcell Tire. Very professional, had a service truck and was done in les than half an hour. Great job by them. Overall experience was very disappointing. I hate to think what would have happened if that trailer blew the tire going down the interstate at 55 miles

I was having a hard time picking my truck up from the website so I went inside to get help. The woman helping me was really nice and was explaining what happened. There was a woman working 2 workstations down from where I was being helped, when the woman who was helping me started to look for the keys to the truck that I was there to pick up the lady 2 work stations down said that she was renting it. I jokingly made a comment “does that mean I get $50?” And the woman 2 work stations down (who I do not know her name but she had thick rim glasses, many tattoos and a shoulder length darker color haircut) snapped and yelled “Umm no that's only if we don't have that size truck we have other trucks the same size!” Im not sure what her problem was but it seems like she is a constant problem because the manager came out immediately and told her to “calm down” and to “let it go” along with the lady who was helping me shook her head and apologized for the other woman's actions. after the manager finally got her to be quiet She continued to talk under her breath so I was not able to hear what she said. The manager was very kind and helped me from this point! When I returned the truck to the designated area the gentleman that was cleaning the trucks was very kind and courteous. I believe his name was David but I could be wrong, it was a busy day of moving but the gentleman that was cleaning the trucks made the end of my day and the end of my stressful day so much more enjoyable he is a keeper! As I'm sure uhaul knows that moving is a very stressful and aggravating process. When It's 8:30 in the morning and I'm being helped by one person and then getting yelled at by someone who obviously causes problem regularly.

Was 10min late for drop off and was charged for another day of use. 6 hours was not enough to load, drive, unload, and drive back. If I pay for a day I should be able to use the whole day u told closing to return. Don't call it 'per day' if a 'day' is only 6 hours.

When I signed the contract and added Smart Move I asked the agent if this covered damage to the truck. While parking the truck we hit a tree branch and dented the front corner of the box. On returning I reported that there was damage and asked to clarify that the agreement covered damage to the truck. When I got final invoice email I had been charged an extra $600.00 for truck damage. Perhaps I did not sign up for the correct coverage but I ASKED THE AGENT if this covered damage to the truck. Other that that this location has always been great to work with. I have used Uhaul several times in my life and they have always been wonderful. I rented the truck at 1/4 tank of gas and after the move I put $25.00 in gas which brought it back up to 1/4 tank. I have always returned things I borrow in the same condition. They charged me almost $50 for fuel and a cleaning surcharge. Plus $20 for checking in the truck the next morning. All of which I have never had a problem with before.

The truck I reserved had a malfunctioning door on the trailer and would not close. There was not another one that size do I had to drive a larger truck. Why did the location not know the trailer door would not close? It was open when I inspected the truck.

Though this uhaul facility did a decent job at keeping the storage area clean it is not the idea location. Uhaul reduced their storage hours to only be open while office personnel are there. This is inconvenient but I understand why. Numerous times while I was at my union there were people who were trying to get in- many homeless people and people who were on drugs trying to get in. There was someone in the bathroom for a few hours doing drugs, a couple times people were so high they wouldn’t even acknowledge you when you talked to them. I don’t know what the fix to this is, but just something to be aware of if you use this storage facilty. Again, staff and units were good. Hours and the location was not, especially with people trying to get in.

I hired guys to move me from the storage to my home as well. The company phoned the day before their scheduled date to confirm everything. The movers called also the next morning of the move to confirm time & location and they phoned to give eta, as in route. The young man named Jimmie @ Helping Hands-worked professionally, was very helpful and was strictly about the business of moving!! I give Jimmie ***** stars !! My interaction with your legal department and local staff, helped accomplish what i needed while somewhere other than Missouri. I hope the severed lock were noted in rounds made by security, I don't know when or who did it. While on hold, a manager checked and the contents were there but the lock severed. The contents were gathered, one tote, by the contact person I listed. The tote is not with me yet to confirm it is intact...all contents. Thanks. K J Rollins #1240

In the last couple months that we rented there it seemed like this location was trying harder to make everything safer and more secure. When we first moved our belongings into the storage facility I was really put out by how unhelpful the workers were, and how sketchy the location was. But in the last few months we had no issues, felt very secure each time we visited, and were impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the helpfulness of the staff.

Had sticky pad for bugs/rodents in unit. Upon leaving unit there were dozen plus roaches on pad, items there for 3mo. Terrified may have brought some with me upon moving my items to new place. Great staff always friendly and helpful said had a bug issue with a tenant think its under control
