I was charged for an extra hour for no reason what so ever they claim i brought back the truck after hours which was never so I never go over my time because I used uhaul all the time very poor service.Premchand L.

I reserved online and purchased a hitch and 2 ratchet straps for pickup with the trailer. Upon arrival I notified the employee that I didn't realize I had straps in my truck so I didn't need them. She informed me that she would need to regenerate the contract to return them but that I could return them at drop-off if I kept them in the packaging. This sounded easier so I agreed. When I went to return them, I realized she charged me for 2 and only gave me 1. Plus, the return location said I needed to bring it back to the original location to return.Timothy R.

I had originally scheduled a pickup in manchester, and 2 days before the scheduled day it was transferred to the brainard location. Not a big deal. Upon arrival to pick up the truck, the gentleman behind the counter, who was very pleasant and helpful, ran into a snag where the truck I had reserved was not there, and was trying very hard to correct it. Then the manager started getting involved, and she was an absolute nightmare. She was rude to everyone, myself and the helpful employee included. She was bad mouthing the other location, interrupting the other employee, and barking commands at me. She was one of the worst displays of customer service i have ever receivedRyan B.

Faster customer service at pickup. I walked in and there was no one at the counter. Then rep reserved my trailer and told me to meet her at the gate, I waited there for over 15 minutes I had to walk back inside to find her, she claimed her manager was renting a van so she had to take care od her, which I have a hard time understanding how a manager would think that would be OK??? As a manager she should have told her to finish up and take care of the customer. At return No one met me at the return line. I walked inside and no one to be found. After several minutes, a guy rolled up in a Uhaul scooter claiming he was thr only employee for that big facility. They definitely need to hire some more employees. I can't remember her name, but the person who helped me was great to work with. I don't really understand the check in process. If I rent a car at an airport, basically I have to show my ID and off I go. When renting a truck, it always seems to take 15 minutes. Renting a car and a truck is essentially the same with the only difference being trucks are larger. So I struggle to understand how renting a car is so much easier than renting a truck.James D.
The only concern I had, was not a single employee was wearing a mask. This includes pickup and drop off employees. During these times, I would think a business like this would adhere to state mandated rules for public safety.James N.

Have correct measurements the beds of the trucks my one specific detail was that I needed a bed that was at least 13 ft long it was only 12 and a half where you guys get your 15 must be the top part of the truck that you guys are including as the overall length truck wasn't really suitable for the application I was doingMark W.

I voiced my concerns upon returning the vehicle. Maria was excellent. She listened. She apologized. She even refunded some money for the inconvenience. My issues were with arrival and pick up. I do not appreciate having to wait until 7:10 for your employee to show up for work. Much less him taking his time once he arrived, a long good bye kiss before the girlfriend drives off, etc. And when I greet someone with â€œGood morning!â€ I expect it back, not just silence. His attitude beyond that was satisfactory but he certainly didn't set a very good first impression. The truck was a quart low on the motor oil. I mentioned it and he topped it off. Again, not something your customers should need to be concerned with. The outside glass on the cab and mirrors wee not clean. Inside was fine. I like to see when I'm driving, especially a vehicle I'm not familiar with yet. Minor complaints and overall it was satisfactory experience but you need folks like Maria opening your store.KEITH G.

The Gas level in vehicle wasnt accurate. It was at a quarter of a tank. When I was told that it was full. And it wasnt full. For a 20 mile round trip I paid $ 45.00 of gas. Ridiculous!!Carl H.

The mobile check-in process completely did not work at all because of the location services even though I kept giving uhaul.com access. It's the only instance I've ever had trouble sharing my location. I had to go inside instead to resolve my sign inNicholas A.

Hire people who know how to listen and communicate effectively! I specifically told Ashley that I didn't want the insurance but she still added to my contract. She also put down truck had a full tank when it was indeed 1/2 a tank (thank God I took a photo b4 leaving u-haul location). Also, when I asked her to confirm time of my rental return time she had it wrong so she had to edit contract since it wasn't available until 12:30pm opposed to original rental time of 11am. The heavy blonde spanish woman was very rude, and refused to remove the incorrect insurance charge. If I would have known how bad they were going to screw up the contract I would have definitely read through the contract through its entirety. This was one of my worst experiences ever renting a truck with u-haul, and I've been a customer for over 20 years!!!!!Michele R.

The manager was not wearing a mask and was sneezing and coughing like it was a joke. Another associate was kind enough (and wearing a mask) to come out from behind and wipe down the credit card machine and pen, but the pen I had to use to sign the papers was handled by the coughing individual and not sanitized at all. I have used this location a few times for convenience but this was the first time I had this sort of negative experience. Can't say I will use this location again if COVID safety for customers is not taken seriously by all staff there.John T.

My first place of pick up was in Bloomfield. Incorrect code to the lock box. This place had the trucks covered in snow and ice, poorly organized, we were just sitting there for 30 minutes in the car trying to warm it up. No scraper provided. Not just this location but UHaul in general is a poorly run company. Not worth it.KELLY W.

The Hartford CT, Brainard Rd location had excellent customer service, however I would NEVER recommend UHaul to anyone ever because of the online and telephone reservation process. The lack of definitive information and misinformation and omitted information caused our move to be a stressful disaster. Only the woman at the Hartford location was able to help us in a small way with big effort. UHaul is just short of a scam.Lainie B.
