Online purchase 39.00 dollar truck I knew the size I needed for the job when I arrived there they wanted to put me in the smallest truck I wouldn't have been able to do the job so to me there is something that isn't right to also the gas meter in the truck had a quarter tank on paper work it had more so uhaul owe me 8.50 cents . The people are fifty cents slick this is bad for any business so this location won't be there for long I'm still affended by this thanks .LEWIS F.

The system for no-contact pick-up is frankly terrible. I had to wait until I arrived to get started and then the online system forced me to put into two different names of people who could verify that I was...renting the vehicle? It wasn't clear. We were late to our online pick-up appointment, so we were told that we had to go inside to check-in. It took a very long time asking all the same questions that I completed online. When we got to the van, we were told the tank was full but it was only half-full. We only rented it for the day, and we returned it to the same location prior to closing around 6pm (they closed at 7pm). The next morning I received two frantic calls from that location telling me to return the van because it was overdue, even though we returned it to a U-Haul employee the night prior. Also, online I reserved a furniture dolly, but they did not have any at this location so we had to carry everything ourselves. Overall, the experience should have been easy, but this location made it complicated and they do not seem to communicate well with each other. Next time, we'll try a different location in DC.ROBERT D.

Mice urine and rodents were all in my storage unit which severely damaged my items stored. The unit was wet and caused my items to have mold grow on it despite me adequately wrapping furniture in plastic, the furniture still ruined. The drop box for the keys for after hours return is unclear. The app directs you to a picture of an orange box with the UHaul logo, so I walked all around the property looking for a box like that and never noticed the slot in the white brick with the green sign. Others dropping off after hours were equally confused. Also the person who answered when I called with questions about after hours drop off didn't seem to know anything - at first she said "we close at 7 pm" and she also told me to park the van in customer parking. Please update the instructions for after hours drop off and train any new employees. There were three others returning vehicles around the same time as me and we were all kind of lost. I spoke to a representative the night before our pickup to change the size vehicle. The person answered the phone right away, was friendly, and made the change immediately. They were very efficient and exceeded expectations. I was wowed and really appreciated the level of service. This is a big improvement from my previoius experiences in years past. When we got to the Bladensburg Rd rental they did not have our truck!! We were there well before our 4 p.m. rental time. We stayed a few minutes past 4. Never got a truck!!!! When you allow clients to select 'International Driver's license' please make it absolutely clear that you will not accept foreign driver's license just official translated documents. My European license was rejected. Other car rental companies allow you to rent cars without a problem but when you move to the US you don't get a license without first having an address.IGOR S.

The man who greeted us was very nice and helpful. The van I rented smelled quite bad and had a used cigarette and ashes in the cup holder. The gas gauge was broken as well.Marla K.

Return agent Charles was rude, unprofessional and smoking while returning vehicle. He never greeted or acknowledged my presence just yelled a total and walked off after he was done inspecting/checking in the van. When I point out to him there was and error with the mileage record he initially refused to look at it and then said you will have to go inside for them to fix it when I showed him the signed contact that the prior check out agent provided. Customer service is important this is not the first time I have seen this type on service for him. I am a frequent renter of this location and honestly I think this was the final straw for me. I look forward to renting at the k street or blatensburg rd locations.DERRICK B.

Overall, this is a very nice facility. My unit is in the new building which is super clean and modern, so that was really nice. But the online check-in process was a mess. I checked in online the night before and got my unit number and access code, but upon arriving to the facility, found it very unclear as to how I actually access my unit. There were 3 call boxes on the wall with no indication as to which one I needed to use. When I tried the call box that seemed to be the correct one, I got a message saying "access denied, not checked in" even though I already checked in online. Thankfully, the employee in the office was a HUGE help as she walked over with me and showed me that I first need to "check in" again by entering my access code into a different box, then needed to dial my code in again at the main call box to actually open the door. There were zero signs or placards that indicated this on the wall, so I would have never figured that out. She then walked me over to my unit only to find that it wasn't ready for move-in. The facility padlock was still on the door and the free disc lock that was supposed to come with the unit was not inside the unit. The funny thing is, I had already purchased a disc lock at the location I picked up my truck from from because they told me (incorrectly) that a free one does NOT come with my unit. The wonderful employee yet again took care of me and made sure I got a refund for the lock I had purchased earlier. So in other words, had I relied on the online check-in process and arrived at the unit after the office had already closed, I would have been TOTALLY screwed because I absolutely would not have been able to get into my unit. Again, the very friendly and helpful lady in the office saved the day for me, explained everything, and got me all squared away, so the overall 4 star rating is thanks to the great staff and the fact that the condition of the facility and unit is really nice. Everything would have otherwise been smooth but it appears there is serious lack of coordination and communication when checking in online (I had similar problems when I went to pick up my truck at another location despite already checking in online and opting for mobile pick-up). If the office/store weren't still open, this could have been a total disaster that would have left me stranded. Shout out to the wonderful staff member that took initiative to get me all squared away. She turned a frustrating experience into a positive one.Aaron H. | Online Move In

I was told I would have a lower level climate controlled unit and when I got there it was an upper level. Staff was not friendly and not helpful. The hours of access are ridiculous. I am SO VERY SORRY that I moved into UHaul. The movers were already there and I couldn't find another place. I am so unhappy with UHaul and my entire experience. The customer service at this location is deplorable. The staff is extremely rude, and the General Manager Osman is very disrespectful and short tempered with customers. I requested a lock cut, as I lost my key and I’ve had the unit for about six years. He told me that it will be a minute. When asked a time frame he said, “It will be a minute” and walked off. I came back approximately two hours later, and he was still unable to provide assistance. 1. The requirement to use the U-haul sold crescent lock is a scam and money grab by Haul and its dealers. I have had storage units for a decade using my own combo lock and never had a security problem. The idea that the required lock provides better security is a lie. 2. The movable ladder necessary to access my second level space constantly wobbled making it unsafe to access my unit. There was not another ladder available use. this is unsafe and reported to the facility. 3. The storage unit door did not close properly and align so the lock could be easily installed. This was reported as well. It took two of us on a the above rickety ladder to push the door enough so it would align and lock the unit door. Such a basic. Get it right. 4. We were only shown (1) elevator. Lots of waiting. this is a converted 3-story warehouse and if another elevator exists we were not shown it. More focus on making money and less on customer service by investing in necessary vertical transportation. Really not sure I'm not going to move back to the Cube Smart a few blocks away.
