I'm moving in with a friend as a result of Hurricane Ida damage. My apt still needs repair and it's been quite stressful. I rented the van in person Friday. Jerome was easy going with a kind disposition. I arrived at 850 am Sunday, 2nd in line, movers waiting at the apartment. I was sorely disappointed when the young lady w blonde hair stated I needed a credit card. I wasn't told that during reservation. She was blunt, stoic & said â€œit's on the website.â€ A little kindness goes a long way bc no one knows another's plight. I left & ret'd w my cc. I'm grateful a bubbly lady with a long ponytail served me when I returned. Her efficiency & friendly attitude made a difference. The van was nice, clean, easy to drive. By this time, we're caught in the rain (New Orleans). We sucked it up and made the move. I returned the van and was served by the blonde lady again. She may have said 5-10 words to me. Printed my receipt, offered no explanation for extra charge (I think it was mileage) and I left. All my belongings are in storage, my car & a friend's house- that alone is hard enough. As stated earlier, I do not know her plight and she may have been having a rough day too. She knows her job and is probably a dedicated employee however she may benefit from some customer service training.Sherile S.

Could not find anyone in the store to return the truck. Had to look for an employee to help us. The employee was very cold, and unfriendly. The employee could not refund our account for unused equipment and boxes. Call the GM and still not resolved. Clerk was not polite and was on her phone thru out the entire business transaction, personal calls. She made and received several calls while she was trying to refund our account. She said she could not refund the account or even offer a solution for the return and was told to step aside to assist other customers. I asked her to call me or have the GM call me and she did not follow up. She did not even, apologize for the wait or difficulty. No respect for our time or business. I have emailed the GM at the location and I am still awaiting a response. It's highly unlikely that I will ever book services thru uhaul in the future. Storage unit was not I-315 climate control . Some wood pieces had mold, the rats were horrible they pee, poo,chewed clothing etc. Just had I did not have to leave merchandise any longer…When speaking to a worker they mentioned he do not go in the units. I work as a peace officer 6 fays a week 12hrs a day, time was of the essence I picked up the truck, That i changed several times. I did I asked your sales rep/agent do you charge 19.95 by the day or flat rate and miles. She replied 19.95 only and .79cents a mile. When I retrieve the truck 2hrs earlier than expected. I was told 19.95 was added. Hmm. I was on a budget. Major event in city park. For my family reunion. 78.00 later I'm appalled, then at check out 108.00 at check out only have 13.00 in my account I have to borrow the monies to make sure I don't incur a nsf fee. No I did not fill up the gas I was short a quarter mile.. totaling 31.00 on return. Omg I'm out raged.Gina M.

I was left the key to a vehicle that was not listed on my contract. The instructions on where to find the key did not apply to the location where I was. It took an hour and 15 minutes to resolve the issue using the emergency roadside service. The vehicle had a sizable amount of damage in both the exterior and interior, which were not noted in the rental contract. The windscreen was cracked all the way across. The interior of the vehicle was not cleaned between rentals, and the interior wind screen was very dirty (we didn't notice this until night time when it interfered with visibility). There was a slow leak in one of the tires that we had to fill up 5-6 times during the rental period.Joshua G.

The last time I rented everything was great! They walked me around the vehicle and made sure everything was good. This time they didn't. I got in the truck and it was riding very rough. I got to my house and my movers said I had a flat. There were two big gouges in the tire. It got us started an hour later than we wanted. The man that came out to change the tire was excellent. When I returned the truck the girl that was working the desk wasn't very friendly. I would still return back to this location. It is very clean and my first time renting was a great experience. It's not even as close to my house , but so much better than the Expressway location that I used 8 years ago.Debra T.

This was my first time using U-Haul, only picked this location due to longer hours of operation convince. Customer service at the desk and over the phone was not helpful, frustrating, and uncomfortable. If anything left me more confused. For the return process, I got confused due to the instructions I was given by the front desk assistant to simply return the keys to the return box. Pretty easy I would say, but completely skipped the part of using the app to validate your return and pay for the service. By the time I realized something was wrong with the instructions I was home. It was pretty frustrating having to go back and correct my mistake that couldn't have been avoided by better communication and clarification of my questions and concerns instead of the dismissal I got. The van I had had a cracked windshield and the crack ran across my vision level. It also had a low tire pressure light on so obviously the tire pressure was not checked. This will be the last time we use uhaul. Experience was horrible from start to finish especially the Harvey location. We pulled in and walked in the building and where told I'm on the phone with my momma you have to wait. 4 minutes later is when we finally started getting help if you want to call it that. We where eligible for a free month storage in a climate controlled unit when we arrive thats not the case. They tryed to charge us for the month and then it wasn't even a controlled unit. After getting 2 managers they finally agreed to hold up to the offer. Not a climate controlled unit. We where then displaced because of hurricane Ida. We called to see if they could pro rate a few days because we where not in the area where told no very rudely. Told us that if we didn't have the stuff out by thrusday the 16 by 4 we would be charged again. We dropped everything and came to get the stuff out when I went to check out I was again almost charged for somthing that was agreed apon. After 20 minutes waiting for a manager to come assist me to figure it out and talk about the damage to my materials in the unit was rudely told nothing we can do here have to claim online. Some staff members were great, but the store manager was horrible. I was charged for a storage space I did not have access to and I was accused of putting the wrong lock on my storage even though I bought the lock from their store. When I shared this information with an employee and the manager I was threatened by the manager that my lock would be cut off if I did not come to remove it. The lock was on the storage space they charged me for but I did not have access to it. Needless to say I will not do business with this facility again.
