To receive a email 3 hrs. prior to my pick up time is very unprofessional when I booked this van 10 days ago and received a confirmation. I will NEVER recommend this location to anyone---highly disappointed!!!!!!

Lynn MThe LOCATION was excellent, no complaints at all. I highly recommend that. The truck was clean and serviceable however the windshield wipers were horrible. They literally fell apart halfway through our trip of 1400 miles. This is a huge safety issue. The dealer told me later that U-Haul does use the cheapest wipers. Make sure to have them replace the existing ones BEFORE you depart.
Joseph RThe movers aspect needs to be a bit more streamlined, for movers to come in and talk about they need more money up front was kind of weird. I paid for 5 hours they worked for 3.25, then wouldn't come back to the house load the truck so I could unload it myself the 2nd trip, even though there was nearly 2 hours remaining, so there's large items i still have to have moved, they also broke the dolly strip that was never used as we had our own dolly and cart to use, but they didn't use those either at all so not sure if they are encouraged to do so, so expect to have to pay for a dolly too when you book. Uhaul staff were all great & friendly, the movers were too but that payment thing needs to be configured differently if there is a way, because again, I paid for 5, was estimating 4 +1hr for stairs, so I truly expect that remaining time to be used to load the remaining bigger items.

TIMOTHY TMake sure to inspect all trucks thoroughly before issuing to customers. My issue very much caused a delay. At the end of it all the manager was very helpful in solving my problem.
Daria DCustomer service was fine. I had my authorized driver pick up the vehicle. They were cleaning the van when he arrived. Unfortunately, I was the one that had to drive it throughout the day. The smell in there was horrid. It smelled as if someone defecated in there. Driving was tolerable as I drove with the window down, but I could not enter the back of the van. Whatever was used to clean the van, or mask whatever smell was in there just made it worse.

Nicole BThe woman checking us was great. However, the day before we had tried to rent the trailer and did not have the proper light kit on my vehicle. I told them that I would reschedule the trailer for the next day after I purchased the light kit and installed it. I told them that I would go to AutoZone to purchase the kit. As I was leaving, I saw an entire wall of light kits in the garage area and asked if they sold them. They replied yes, so I went back in to see if you all carried the right one. And indeed, you did, and I bought it. The man that installs those kits was also there and did not inform us that that service was available. The manager was also on duty. I think it was a missed opportunity for your team to provide great customer service and increase the sale and service for your company, but they didn't seem to want to do the extra work or try to make the most of us as customers. My criticism is of the manger and the service person, not of the desk agent.

DAKOTA RI was charged for a utility dolly that I didn’t get. I was charged for an extra day when I turned in the uhaul a day before I was actually suppose to. I wasn’t refunded the $15 for the utility that I was initial charged for it.

TERRENCE HI used the uhaul help section to find moving company. The company called stated it was a 3 hour minimum instead of 2 hour like uhaul had listed. He sent a link for me to pay for the 3rd hour. When he got their he had no tools to disconnect washer and dryer nor take the table apart so that stayed behind. They rushed and were only there for 1 hour because they had another job at 11am. I paid for help for 3 hours and only received 1 hour. I informed him that he would need 2 forms of ID and vehicle registration to get on military base. He advised that he always move people on and off base. However he did not have information he needed to get pass to enter the base. I was very dis appointed with that.
ANNETTE JOnce I got to this store to return a truck and put my stuff in storage, the employee was unable to see my reservation, but after about 30 minutes she saw my information. She did not have change readily available. Once everything was taken care of after being in the store too long, my stuff was placed in a storage unit that I cannot access because I am handicap. Once my movers got everything in the storage unit which is on the second floor, I returned the truck to the front and the employee said I was good to go. I had my sister give me a ride home but on the way I received a call I had to come back to get the truck because that was not the correct location but I explained to her that her store was on my paperwork from Georgia, but she insisted she could not check the truck in and I have to come back and take it to a Gretna location instead. At the point I was tired and frustrated so I advised her I would need to pick it back up in the morning so I would not be charged additional money and I would be contacting the corporate office. I received a phone call 30 minutes later stating there was technical issues with the computer and my truck has been checked in with no additional charges. I think the stores need to be sure they are on the same page and not make it difficult for your customers when renting your trucks.
TRACEY HWhen I rented a van and noticed there's dirty on every van's windshield; driver's rearview mirror; and passenger's window however your maintenance would need to wash up in every window and windshield. Thanks, Customer.

nathalie a | Overall ExperienceDuring the time my belongings were stored with U-Haul, my rental rate went up six times with the following statement as an explanation for the increase: $1,990 in additional charges based on this statement in each letter notifying me of an increase: “My staff and I pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, dry, and secure self-storage facility and are dedicated to improving your storage experience. We complete daily inspections of the property to proactively improve facility maintenance and security, as well as conduct a monthly pest control program to adhere to our superior cleanliness standards.” In the end, I paid an additional $1,990.00 for this promise of cleanliness and pest control. But when I came with movers to clear out my storage unit on 7/24/23, I discovered that every piece of upholstered furniture, carpets, wooden items, art, and some clothing had all been destroyed by vermin. While the staff was friendly and helpful and the insurance I'd paid for covered most of the damage, I am angry that I paid $1,990.00 for enhanced cleanliness and pest control under completely false pretenses; if the management at that time had actually done what they promised in exchange for higher rent, my belongings wouldn't have been destroyed. I feel ripped off, and I certainly would not recommend this facility to anyone.

This was a common thing at the Lapalco in Harvey business. Each time I entered the building, it was quite junky. It looks like they're going out of business.

We pulled in and walked in the building and where told I'm on the phone with my momma you have to wait. 4 minutes later is when we finally started getting help if you want to call it that. We where eligible for a free month storage in a climate controlled unit when we arrive thats not the case. They tryed to charge us for the month and then it wasn't even a controlled unit. After getting 2 managers they finally agreed to hold up to the offer. Not a climate controlled unit. We where then displaced because of hurricane Ida. We called to see if they could pro rate a few days because we where not in the area where told no very rudely. Told us that if we didn't have the stuff out by thrusday the 16 by 4 we would be charged again. We dropped everything and came to get the stuff out when I went to check out I was again almost charged for somthing that was agreed apon. After 20 minutes waiting for a manager to come assist me to figure it out and talk about the damage to my materials in the unit was rudely told nothing we can do here have to claim online. Horrible customer service no one I know will be renting from your company.

The lock was on the storage space they charged me for but I did not have access to it. Needless to say I will not do business with this facility again. Most of the staff members were truly great and helpful but that manager has got to go.
