We reserved a 20 ft moving truck a month and a half before we needed it...the night before our move we were informed that they wouldn't have the size truck we reserved had only the massive 26ft one and it wasn't going to be at the location we reserved it at which was only a couple miles from us. Instead we had to pick it up 30 miles away through a extremely busy downtown route at a area we were unfamiliar with. Took a extra hour of our time and extra gas which we had to pay for. They did give us extra miles, but charged us for gas upon return. We returned it with the same amount as pick up and what is on the contract, but still got charged a extra $15. They definitely will rip you off!!!

My experience was extremely unique. The uhal truck was towed from my apartment leaving me stranded. I went to the towing company paid the $500 and got it back. Did not get to finish what it was intended to assist with. Im still searching for someone with a truck to help.

Got in the truck AC did not work. Manager said call roadside assistance… I did not leave the lot with the truck and ended up coming back 2 hours later and it was fixed. Manager gave me 2 extra days, I turned it in the same day as originally scheduled and was charged 4 dollars extra for mileage which makes no sense.. Will not be using U-Haul again!

Problem number one ordered trailer reserved wood time at Kenner. Location on veterans boulevard got call from corporate saying I had to pick up at chef highway 60000 block. New Orleans Louisiana went there. They didn't have didn't have to go to lapelco service to get the trailer that we reserv was not a good experience.

The worker Shaun was extremely rude and obnoxious. He purposely made this experience more difficult. He gave Us a truck with 1/8 gas. I asked could we get one with gas because I'll have to go in the opposite direction to get gas, he said all of them didn't have gas. When we went to move the truck it was blocked. We went in to asked can they move he other vehicles so we can get out, He rudely stated "I don't move them, one of the guys on the lot will move it." I asked the guy if it had gas and the truck was almost completely full. I asked the guy Shaun if I could get that truck or could he check to see if the other trucks had gas. He bluntly said "No I'm not checking any truck for gas either take it or leave it." Reluctantly, I took it but if there was another option at a nearby location, I would've left it for sure. I had to drive the opposite direction to get gas, pas by the rental location on the way to My destination for miles I would be charged for. If I could give a negative review number I would. Horrible experience.

I would still recommend the location to someone else because the service was good but the truck I got was not mechanically good. It was clean but it wasn’t in the best of shape. It pulled to the right indicating brake wearing steering was not good. It was wrecked on the passenger side. Overall not a bad experience but Yao good either.

The storage is actually for my sister - Nakesia Washington - belongings. The only way she could get the storage for free was with the rental. The door is very difficult to raise up die to a lot of rust. It actually hurt her back and mine trying to open and close it. Hopefully the staff can put something on it to help with that issue.

Horrible, told me that i had to pop the lock off my own unit in order to cancel my payments and get my belongings, i popped the lock on my own purchased a moving vehicle and planned to move everything next day, which was verbally communicated with the employees at the storage unit. They put another lock on there over night preventing me to get my belongings.. months later a manager reached out and told me i can get my belongings for free anytime between the hours he disclosed, we then purchased another U-Haul and was prevented from getting our belongings due to the manager not having a key to the unit. But told us to come anytime as if they had the key on hand. Now they want me to pay 1300 to get my belongings. Overall horrible place and horrible customer service !

My reservation was for a drive up unit, however, when I arrived, I was told my reserved unit was not available. I was given an unit on the second floor with no elevator nor dolly available for rental. This was very frustrating. If uhaul would have notified me of this, when I made the reservation, I could have made other arrangements. Don't wait until someone shows up, then inform them their previously reserved unit is not available.

During the time my belongings were stored with U-Haul, my rental rate went up six times with the following statement as an explanation for the increase: $1,990 in additional charges based on this statement in each letter notifying me of an increase: “My staff and I pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, dry, and secure self-storage facility and are dedicated to improving your storage experience. We complete daily inspections of the property to proactively improve facility maintenance and security, as well as conduct a monthly pest control program to adhere to our superior cleanliness standards.” In the end, I paid an additional $1,990.00 for this promise of cleanliness and pest control. But when I came with movers to clear out my storage unit on 7/24/23, I discovered that every piece of upholstered furniture, carpets, wooden items, art, and some clothing had all been destroyed by vermin. While the staff was friendly and helpful and the insurance I'd paid for covered most of the damage, I am angry that I paid $1,990.00 for enhanced cleanliness and pest control under completely false pretenses; if the management at that time had actually done what they promised in exchange for higher rent, my belongings wouldn't have been destroyed. I feel ripped off, and I certainly would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Storage unit was not I-315 climate control . Some wood pieces had mold, the rats were horrible they pee, poo,chewed clothing etc. Just had I did not have to leave merchandise any longer…When speaking to a worker they mentioned he do not go in the units. Well it’s over and glad to return home in Alabama…Would recommend but tell them to check storage periodically.

We reserved a climate control large unit, when we arrived there was only one unit available which was not climate control and very small unit. i had to take it out of desperation for a move next day and no time to look elsewhere. Why reserve a space if it is going to be given away to someone else? The unit has no light, appears it was torn out.

Customer service was complicated. Each time I called to get clarity on anything, I was placed on hold for more than 10 minutes and the disposition of the rep was nasty. This was a common thing at the Lapalco in Harvey business. Each time I entered the building, it was quite junky. It looks like they're going out of business.

This will be the last time we use uhaul. Experience was horrible from start to finish especially the Harvey location. We pulled in and walked in the building and where told I'm on the phone with my momma you have to wait. 4 minutes later is when we finally started getting help if you want to call it that. We where eligible for a free month storage in a climate controlled unit when we arrive thats not the case. They tryed to charge us for the month and then it wasn't even a controlled unit. After getting 2 managers they finally agreed to hold up to the offer. Not a climate controlled unit. We where then displaced because of hurricane Ida. We called to see if they could pro rate a few days because we where not in the area where told no very rudely. Told us that if we didn't have the stuff out by thrusday the 16 by 4 we would be charged again. We dropped everything and came to get the stuff out when I went to check out I was again almost charged for somthing that was agreed apon. After 20 minutes waiting for a manager to come assist me to figure it out and talk about the damage to my materials in the unit was rudely told nothing we can do here have to claim online. Horrible customer service no one I know will be renting from your company.

Horrible to say the least. Almost a week waiting to hear from a customer service representative. Faulty equipment. Lack of facilitation. No communication on processes and alternative processes. Lost a sale on furniture that I had advertised. Couldn't get into the building using access card. Had to return the truck before being able to use it. Only truly helpful person was Travis in Roadside Assistance. I can keep going... next time I will rent a truck from Home Depot and a unit elsewhere. Worse $200 spent.

Some staff members were great, but the store manager was horrible. I was charged for a storage space I did not have access to and I was accused of putting the wrong lock on my storage even though I bought the lock from their store. When I shared this information with an employee and the manager I was threatened by the manager that my lock would be cut off if I did not come to remove it. The lock was on the storage space they charged me for but I did not have access to it. Needless to say I will not do business with this facility again. Most of the staff members were truly great and helpful but that manager has got to go.

When I got to this unit I wanted a big unit. After applying for the unit I was given three separate small units which would have not fit any of my big furniture. The building was also unsecured and had a broken door.

When I first got the unit I had problems but once the young guy Jordan took over I had no problem after he even gave me the option to choose a buzzer are a card to get in and out the gate due to me have a problem with the card that I was provided but he said they been had the buzzer I would recommend dealing with this guy any day.
