I checked in online when I arrived and it said pending approval for over an hour. When I went inside, the front desk clerk said she couldn't do anything because I already started the process online. Then she said I wasn't on her schedule either. Then eventually when it was figured out, the parking lot was not cleared and the truck was covered in snow with no tools inside to clean it off. The absolute worst experience. I returned my uhaul at 8:30am. She says â€œwould you like a receipt.â€ Me thinking it was for the return of the uhaul said yes. I get a receipt for $72. When I asked her what it was for she said I had to pay for an extra day and service fee. I argued and said no where on my confirmation email does it say it has to be returned by a specific time. She said that's how it is and there's nothing she can do. I paid $1300 for a uhaul and then you are going to charge me $72 for an extra day when it says NO WHERE in my confirmation email a return time? My 2nd time renting and the crew is nothing but amazing. I don't know what they are paid, but with the service they gave me, it is not enough. They greeted me like an old friend and helped me out like a great one. They allowed me to vent a bit about the situation I find myself in and it made me feel better. Well it was pouring rain the morning we got the U-Haul. And the lady we got at the front desk or it was not very helpful or willing to get up it's like she just wanted to sit at her desk. She didn't help us find our Pacific U-Haul even though we asked we actually got into five different vehicles that morning in the pouring rain and had to go back inside to ask for help I watch they said oh just follow the lines on the in the grid. By which we went back outside and attempted again and luckily we found a nice lady who was also getting a U-Haul out there in the pouring rain who helped us find our truck. The fact that the lady at the front desk was not willing to help us at all find our rental was very very inappropriate and unprofessional and I'm very upset regarding it . Other than that once we got going it was fine but just the morning experience was not what I expected.Twila N.

I went in the same day (which is what I selected as my check in online date) and it said access denied- check in not made. I message the dealer from the uhaul website and never received a response. I want a refund. I am 64 years old man. I ask for small truck to move two refrigerators. I even rented a equipment dolly. They rented me small truck with trailer hitch and no ramp. Didn't realize it until I showed up at the home where I purchased to pick up the used refrigerator. We had lift the refrigerator in lay it on the side. Which is not good. They should us rented a 15' small truck with a ramp and higher roof to stand up the refrigerator. Extremely disappointed in the rental from Uhaul North Canton.MARK E.

The truck was not clean In The cab. There was no dolly even though there were questions about one and a spot for one. The biggest issue I had was that the closest Uhaul accepted our reservation but then it was transferred in the middle of the night before the reservation. I called the â€œnew storeâ€ to confirm that they now had my truck but they had no power and after being on hold for quite some time, a new man came on the phone and yelled at me, â€œI DONT HAVE YOUR TRUCK!â€ Then hung up on me. So I went to the original location who only had one truck the size I reserved any it was out of gas so they couldnt rent it to me. I had to call reservations who found another location that could rent the truck after 45 min of trying to pick up the truck I had reserved. When I went to this place it seemed nice and big. Only issues were that the person told me the wrong information when she told me where the truck was so I ended up wasting another 15 min searching the lot and ended up going back in the store. When she saw me amuse said, oh it's by the street. She knew why I came back in without my saying a word but never considered coming to tell me while I was outside looking even though no other customers were in the store. Finally when checking out mobile the system crashed on me twice so I had to start over the check out process twice which was annoying at 730 at night while my ride was waiting for me.ELIZABETH B.

The equipment was fine. The staff was nice and helpful. But I experienced major problems. I reserved my rental online and the website added dozens of items (over $100) to my order. Luckily, the staff at my pick up caught this and were able to correct the error. Then at my return, the staff (different from the earlier visit) took my keys and told me they'd complete the return. However, the next day I received a call from the location claiming I'd never returned the truck and would be charged multiple penalty fees. When I tried to call back, I was routed to multiple customer service agents and waited for over 25 minutes. The customer service rep tried to contact the store location but could not. I was told my account had been noted and I would not be charged any penalties. I do not know if any of this is true or if I'll be charged correctly. I currently have multiple charges on my credit card. I also do not have a clear paper trail of what charges I should expect to be accurate. I am thankful the staff and customer service agents were polite, but this has been a terrible experience.Caleb G.

The pickup process was very stressful. First of all, the first location I was scheduled to go to did not have the equipment I ordered or any viable substitute. I understand these things happen but I called to confirm that morning and was told everything was good. I was sent to another location further away from where I wanted to be. When I got there, the trailer was ready and the desk persons were helpful but the hooks on the safety chains were too small for my truck. I've rented many U-Haul trailers and this has never happened but this guy's solution was to disconnect the trailer and send me across the street to TSC to buy quick-connect mechanisms. Of course, TSC didn't have the right size so I had to buy new hooks at $30 for the pair which was all they had that would work. Without going into too much detail, the hooks were caribeaner style with cotter pin help pins. When I took them over, the guy assisting put them on in a way I knew would be impossible to remove once I needed to take them off but he jammed them on there and sent me on my way. Of course, I had to break the hooks to get them off the truck when I was done. I didn't open the trailer at the pickup spot because I was already two hours behind schedule and when I got to the house and opened the trailer, the floor was covered with mud and leaves.
