The employee that brought the Pickup truck was very rude. He could have given information about the Pickup and when asked he was not transparent. We needed to know if the pickup would seat three people and he suggested we have reserved another truck, when all that was necessary was to let down a section that was there and would allow three people. When I asked him why didn't he mention that in beginning, he accused me of hollowing at him and said don't do it again. I also was given a truck that gas gauge was on empty when I received.Barbara W.

First I went to another uhaul locating on International near 50th Av, and they were appalling. They seemed to have a lot of trucks, but they seemed uninterested to do any work. Without reservation the woman tells me she can do nothing, fine, so I ask for the phoned number of San Leandro location to which she tells me she doesn't have it despite sitting right in front of a computer. None of the employee there were pleasant. I don't what kind of people uhaul hires, but I'd rather not see anyone that doesn't want to work.Shu Y.

The agent who checked us out messed up. I explained her the situation that it's under my boss name. He couldn't be there so the agent explained she would cancel his reservation and put in my name. But she still placed reservation under my boss name and info and used my credit card. As we went out to pick up Uahul a gentle ran up to us and stated that's your not your rental. We were so lost and waited outside as he requested. Came back out and said the agent messed up. We had to ask him in giving us more information but he said he fixed it and the price adjustment has been made and walked away. We trusted it and left. Throughout the day we realized we need to keep uhaul and extended our day. We called the local office 5 times and kept being placed on hold. Never got Through the line so I decided to call the customer service number. I did get through and was helped to extend the day. It only took 10 minutes to do that. I return the U-Haul Sunday before they closed. Next day Monday received a phone call stating U-Haul has not been returned. I had to agent the completed scenario again. Not all customer service are willing to help customer to resolve issue but the one that finally did it does a good job. My reservation was cancelled, I was immediately ask to call hotline and they not willing to help. I was charged 700 dollars because the prior truck had a dead battery. When they switched my truck, I don't think they switched the information so I was stuck at the uhaul unable to fully return the truck since the online platform wouldn't recognize the mileage. When I called the only pathway they could provide was me being contacted in 72 hours which never happened and when I ended up calling, they never suggested any courtesy for my inconvenience. I asked her politely to explain the claims process to a poor young college age chick who had gotten side swiped as I cruised by. She yelled at her to. The online check-in was not easy at all. We had issues at every step (ex. pick up truck wasn't an option sometimes, but if we kept refreshing, sometimes we'd get it), but then when we finally got to the end, it wouldn't let us agree to the terms and pick up the truck, so we had to go inside anyway.Andrea C.

Steve was unable to connect my trailer and told me it was because my ball was not the proper size. He sent me to another u-haul dealer who determined the ball was the appropriate size and sent me back. when Steve was eventually able to connect the trailer he then discovered that the wires to the right taillight were completely severed. He then had to connect another trailer. The last time I rented a trailer from you one of the tires was completely bald. It does not seem that safety ranks high on your priorities. Angel, your manager handled these problems that we had very well and professionally. Steve on the other hand seemed to be poorly trained, unprofessional, and prone to use profanities in front of a customer.GRANT G.

Worst experience ever. Was told only 30 minutes before picking it up (I was already on my way) that it was rescheduled for way later in the day. Then was told on the phone I would get a $50 credit for this. It was never applied to my account and I had to call again to get this settled. The people on the phone were very kind. But the people at the store were very stressed! So not sure who caused all the issues here or if it's just Uhaul in general....We were told there were 0 trailers available in the Bay other than the one that was rescheduled. This was a lie. We showed up and there were 5 on site. Plus SEVERAL other options.. Then we were given the wrong trailer! They didn't hook up the one matching the number they put in the system - I had caught it and had to wait an hour for them to figure out the system and fix this. I reserved a dolly when I made the reservation online. But when I went to pick up my truck, I was told they didn't have any dollies left. Not sure how that happens, but that's something you might want to address. Fortunately, I ended up not needing the dolly, so it didn't end up being a huge inconvenience.Eileen M.
Picked up a truck with mirror broken, dirty. When they fix the mirror the employee who brought the vehicle back had the truck Smelling like WEED!!! While I appreciate the 1 month free trial with my one-way truck rental, getting access to my storage was a bit of a hassle. There was only one customer representative at the front desk when I arrived and even though she was friendly and helpful once it was my turn, the person who helped show me to my unit afterward didn't explain to me the storage layout or building access outside of using my key card. I had to go back to the front desk to find out there was not a loading dock for my items and that the uhaul truck wasn't actually allowed into the storage unit. There was only one hand truck available for use and the driveway for moving items in and out of the storage unit was heavily trafficked with moving cars. The whole process was very stressful and makes me unsure about renting from the storage facility in the future, at least at this particular location.Michelle W. | First Impressions

When I got to Oakland to drop off truck and move into the facility I was told my reservation was not there. I had an email proof of my reservation which was not honored. I had to pay more for a unit which was not expected. I waited for over 2 hours for clarity which I never received as the manager was driving around in the golf cart dismissing my concerns. My only thing of importance is my safety. when an unpleasant unexpected situation come up that is not taken seriously. I've had a few incidence or situation that happen in the 4 or 5 years of using your facility. I understand truly the stresses put on the employees at this time of the pandemic but still in all case by cases. When I bring up things it is seriously a reason. My drop off address and storage facility had different addresses though it's essentially the same facility. Employees may want to point that out to customers. I ran into issues with the storage space unit number and card key access, all as a result wing and they were having technical issues getting it all up and running, but Barbara was always around to try to help as much as she can. UHaul needs to provide some seating for customers who have physical needs such as chairs. I had movers helping me b/c of my age and walking disability and had to borrow the chair at the handicapped window in order to sit down while they made the move for me. The personnel at the UHAUL faculty were nice about it but it got me to thinking what if another handicapped person had come in? Then what? One or two additional chairs should be enough. How you communicate to your customers on your site versus on site is very different. It should be clear about how I will be able to access my unit so that I can come prepared with the right truck & / or cars. A unit should be accessible using your trucks. Workers should also have the knowledge of how big the units are and what can/ can not fit. I made an reservation it took 30 minutes to get me a storage . The yiunf lady that was helping me need to be still trained she didn't know anything she had to keep asking for help . My move-in experience was terrible. The first issue was that I placed an online reservation for a unit and on the day I try to move in I learn that the unit I reserved is not available and no reservation was made. My only comparable option was a slightly larger unit with higher cost. Because I was in need of storage immediately, I decided I had to sign up for something and accepted the higher cost but was not compensated for the lack of availability and absence of a reserved unit. My second, much worse, issue is that the online office and access hours are WRONG. When we moved in we were not informed that the information online was out of date. We believed we’d have access to our unit until 10pm and come to find out we only had access until 7pm, on the following day it was even earlier - until 5pm only. When I went to confirm this with the office staff all I was told was “the website is wrong.” There was no further explanation, no offer of help or accommodation, and from there only frequent reminders that we needed to be done moving in by 7pm. I do not understand how information as important as office and access hours are not updated in all relevant locations and how the staff does not proactively mention this to tenants to account for the gap. Ultimately, I decided to rent this unit because I’d already trucked my items to the location and needed immediate storage, but if I’d had more of a choice I would have gone somewhere else. DON'T BOOK ONLINE - Even though if you book online they are not going to give you that unit. They say they don't have it even though you already booked it. It was the worst customer interaction I have ever had. People at the front desk, they don't know what they are doing. They gave us the wrong unit number and we walked to that unit and when we come back they told us it was the wrong unit. This happened 3 times and on the 4th time, they told us that they don't have any available units on the 2nd floor that's why we need to take the elevator. Even though the facility is nice, the experience was worst. I hope they select their employers carefully at the next time.umut s. | First Impressions
