It took 2 hours to rent a trailer I had already reserved. This is not acceptable. The first trailer I was hooked up to was not "one way" so they had me swap for another trailer... that too had issues, but they talked to "traffic" to fix that then they claimed my '07 Tacoma was not capable of towing it.... nonsense. The reps in Oakland tried their best, but were clearly understaffed for the day.

clean the cargo vans better. I found a lot of glass in the last cargo van, and a lot of cigarette ash in the one before that one.

Our U-haul truck was stolen (along with the stuff inside it including a motorcycle) which was hard enough, and I was worried that the company would make things even harder (with a bunch of extra paperwork or fees or something). But fortunately they did not. The guy at the counter was very sympathetic and seemed genuinely sad for us, and we weren't charged for anything above what we had originally agreed to pay.

The first time I came in there wasn't a van for me even though I reserved one, so I had to reschedule. Not a real problem for me but I could see it really messing up someone's plan. even a call 30 min before would have been nice so I wouldn't have gone all the way out there.

I reserved a 17' foot truck but when I went to pick it up they only had a 15'. I really needed the bigger size and wasn't able to fit everything in the truck and had to use my SUV to finish moving.

The address is noted as 8000 San Leandro Blvd,but the entrance is on 81st St. Maybe just tell people that as I drove right by it twice...On a different note, the young lady at the counter named Ashli Bosley was extremely polite,professional and helpful in every aspect of picking up and returning the truck..She made moving day so much easier...

First location was in a hopelessly run down, dangerous neighborhood. After I threaded my way through the whores and pimps, they did not have the reserved van available. No one had contacted me from U-Haul. Office gave me the toll-free number for Dispatch. They found another location for me. I took the van, drove it 30 miles. When I tried to load it, I discovered that the back door would not open. Drove it back, they gave me a dirty pickup truck that worked. Girlfriend is astonished that I didn't demand to get my money back. I won't rent from U-Haul again unless it's an emergency.

The woman who helped us wasn't very helpful. She was pretty rude and spoke to me like I was stupid when I asked about reviewing the condition of the vehicle before signing the damage waiver. The manager was very nice though.

The first van I picked up stalled and I had to return it to the location...It would only go 3 miles an hour. Then the billing got messed up and the second van cost more $$$.

The checkout process was tedious and cumbersome despite having succumbed to the "Express" check-out the web site pushed. The supply products pricing provided from the site did not match what was given to me in the store (the web site was more expensive) and I was told to gather all the items myself anyways within the store. The explanation of the rental terms and potential fees was abysmal. The information was either incorrect (didn't match the contract) or downright misleading (highlighting charges and fees in only the most positive light and failing to make clear the onerous extra fees). While the marketing for a cheap rental of a pickup truck works, paying over $60 for something that is advertised as a $19.95 product leaves me with a poor memory of the experience and pushes me to use my traditional rental companies like Hertz for future needs.

Our experience was fine however there were more than a couple customers ahead of me in line whose trucks were not available or at another location and weren't notified of this change. It that were me, I would have been very upset. I recommend working to improve communications with customers so this type of thing doesn't happen.

The gentleman who met me at the truck to check in put the wrong miles in which almost had me paying $300 more. Thankfully someone realized the mistake and the ladies at the counter were able to fix it. They were really good about getting it squared away.
