We will be filing an formal complaint with U-Haul U-Box based on the actions of U-Box in Fort Worth Texas (origination point) and have spoken to District Manager of U-Haul Scott in Northern Arizona. All of the information we received from U-Box was inaccurate and cost us an additional $2,000 due to overcharged storage, shipped without notifying us so we could purchase insurance for our belongings and misinformation about the delivery in Arizona.

Online setup made check in a breeze. Drop off was even easier as I didn't even need to get out of the vehicle. Only issue is that inspire of the “masks required “ sign on the door, not one employee was wearing one. If that's the case, just take the sign down.

My auto transport blew a tire during my trip, so obviously this location needs to do a better job with their safety inspections. Also I made a reservation for a 15' truck & an auto transport on 12/18/20 for pick up on 1/26/21 at this location. This reservation was made 5 weeks in advance, but the day before my pick up I was called & told by an employee at this location on hwy 69 that the equipment I reserved was not available at this location on Hwy 69 & that I would have to drive over 70 miles to get a 20' truck (not the 15' truck that I reserved) in Wickenburg, because there were no 15' trucks within 100 miles. I was given an accommodation for mileage, but NOT for gas as I requested, so I had to spend over 3 hours of my time & over $20 of my own money on gas just to resolve the poor inventory management at this location. The rental cost me significantly more than I agreed to because it was a bigger truck than I needed & when I picked up the auto transport, I told them that I only needed it for one day, not 3 days, but they charged me for 3 days, anyway & told me I would get a refund for the unused portion of the rental if I returned it early, but that didn't happen, either. The worst part of my experience was by far the tire blowing out in the middle of my trip & waiting on the side of the road for more than 2 hours for the tire to be replaced & then getting to the U-Haul in Placentia after 7 pm when they had closed & having to find a place to park a 20' moving truck WITH an auto transport attached to it safely overnight.

Truck wasn't cleaned before rental: Exterior dirty (mud the length of the truck on both sides-hid prior body damage), bed dirty (not swept out), interior wasn't clean (mud on the floors, seats dirty), windows not clean. Right Front Tire Pressure Monitor defective. Fuel gauge didn't track tank level. Counter pick-up service was quick and courteous. Drop-off was hassle-free. Store was neat/clean. All of the staff was maskless. Lot was uncluttered. Difficult turn-in from the highway, but easy to get out. Online reservation worked well. But Online Pre-Check-In did not work and threw me off during upload of DL and CC info - which translated into more time spent at counter.

I pulled into what looked like the right area and walked into the store to find an associate to give the keys to and was told I need to move as my friend who was waiting outside was told to move now! He was very rude to my friend, never said where we should have parked or dropped off the rental. I will tell friends not to use this site. Go to other locations.

It was a little annoying that they changed the drop off location to a further location from where I was than charged me for extra milage it was only a few dollars but it's still annoying that I had to pay extra money because uhaul changed the drop off location

I put below average because I was told the truck was not available when I was there to pick it up. Then when I returned it, was charged for using the packing blanket. Which were not used. Called to tell I was charged. They said the blankets were unfolded which was not true. Though this location the people were very polite, don't get me wrong. Very helpful, and did end up getting a truck for my move.

I’ve rented at this location several times. I love it. It’s clean and safe and handy. They have carts and a gradual loading dock with height options. Security cameras everywhere. Huge elevator.

Location capacity was staff limited. While they were courteous, four of twelve U-boxes were not able to be picked up on schedule. That said, I was still very happy with the overall move and will gladly recommend U-Boxes to others for their moves!

Access and customer parking are an issue. This is a large location and needs better ingress/egress routes. That is a main complaint for most U-Haul locations.

All three employees were not wearing any mask or face shield. During a global pandemic and in the state of Arizona where we have the highest rate of transmission, this was deeply upsetting. I will think twice moving forward with UHaul.

I have rented the same size U-haul trailer from Old Town Horse & Pet in Tucson AZ, four times in the last 2 months, and dropped the trailer off at U-haul moving & Storage of Prescott each time. I was asked if a 2 day rental would work for me each time that I picked the trailer up. My answer was yes, each time. I rented each trailer about 9:30 am, and returned each one around 1-2 pm. This time, without saying anything to me before I left the drop off location in Prescott, I received the usual email later in the day, with a $20 "extra day charge" for keeping the trailer over 48 hours. Thought it was 2 days. Never charged extra in the 3 prior trips, while doing the same exact thing. Is this sleazy? HMMM! Obviously, going to speak to a customer service rep, then do an update as to the outcome.

Well, the box was loaded at my parents' house on November 30. On December 5th, I was called to say there wasn't a lock on the box and couldn't ship until that was on. Totally forgot. Lots for 1 guy to do after losing my dad earlier in the month, moving my mom to NH and trying to get the house cleaned out and ready to sell. Not sure if the box could have left AZ sooner if I had remembered the lock or not, but the process of a box arriving should include a quick inspection to make sure there's a lock and a call immediately, not 5 days afterward. Delivery? 12/19 was the date. Then 12/21. Then 12/23. Moving target for coordinating schedules for my siblings to be able to receive, unload and return the box. And closer to Christmas Day each delay. Haven't seen the $50/day refund yet ($200 total). Would have Liked to see the $99 fee waived to bring the box down the street as an act of good will and maybe a "Sorry for all of the changes and date pushes". I'm open to suggestions on Just how much Good Will U-Haul is willing to extend there. Every penny goes back towards my mom's continuing care, so I'm not shy about asking. The $2172 paid for the transport across country Probably was a contracted truck. About 800-900lbs of stuff in a small box with my Mom's life inside, including her sleeping chair. How about this. Refund the $200 (contractual), the $99 for delivering the pod to the apartment and U-Haul Contacts the hauler ( $1972.00 should be that rate now), IF I ever get the contracted $200 back to put back in my Mom's account, to see how much Good Will They have towards the non-dependable timeline to move a crate across country along with about 12-14 other crates, I imagine? Nice Margin for 1 T/T trip across country. I'll paste this in the Contact Form as well.

My only comment: That Every UHAUL "non-dealer" is never staffed right there is always a line and never enough staff members to handle all of the needs. Additionally, I had a problem with my rental and the "factory" store was not able to help me it cost me an additional 4-hours to wait for roadside. Rediculous if I stop at a Factory Uhaul for service - it should be there!

The ONLY reason I am extremely dissatisfied with UHaul now is because you have given my email address to third party solicitors!! I am requesting that you stop whatever action you have taken that has caused me to receive UNsolicited email advertising from insurance companies, concealed carry certificate businesses and many others. Those businesses give no way to unsubscribe, the unsubscribe link is redirected through UHAul, meaning you are profiting. Stop this now

SERIOUSLY, THE BATHROOM ON THE STORAGE UNIT LEVEL IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. SOME OF THE EMPLOYEES ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL HOWEVER THERE ARE NEGATIVE ASSOCIATES AS WELL AND SEEMS TO HAVE A STAFFING ISSUE. ALSO, THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN YOU TRY TO CALL. I was a little concerned because when I first called I was told there were no units available and when I called back 10 minutes later to see if I could go on a waiting list I was told that there was a unit available which I rented. So some staff are not bothering to look on the computer maybe?

They gave my reserved unit to someone else and also charged me for the first month after I had confirmation that my first month was supposed to be free. I contacted corporate and all they told me was to contact the store. Not a pleasant experience at all

The space was fine. Appreciated that is was clean, safe and not too hot/cold. Had ongoing issues dealing with the administrative side of the biz... not returning calls/emails, bookkeeping errors, poor customer service. I am relieved to no longer have to deal with the corporate entity or local manager. Incredibly frustrating and stressful. No way to run a business.

I went to my storage unit after I got a call about a flooding. I went to my storage unit which was fine. I let them know. However a week later, I went back to the unit, my key didn’t open the lock. When I went to the desk, I found out they broke into my locker to check on it. They said the insurance company wanted to see if there was any damage. No one thought to tell me. They actually broke into my unit without my permission. This is unacceptable. I will never store at uhaul again. PLUS, they didn’t even think they had done anything wrong.

We had a bit of a problem when I found out the morning of my move-in an 18 wheeler could not access the property to get to my storage locker. This was after confirming twice with UHaul staff that an 18 Wheeler could drive on the property and use the loading dock and freight elevator to get my items to the fourth floor.The U-Haul manager went out of his way to troubleshoot what we could do with the truck and determined the best plan was to find another storage provider that had access for this large of a truck. He turned a bad situation into a positive experience for us even at the loss of my business. I also received a refund for the prepaid storage locker the same day which is pretty swift for a large business.
