The employee working the check-in counter arrived at least an hour late for work, resulting in at least a dozen customers not being able to pick up their vehicles as planned at 7 a.m. when the location first opened. No apologies or discounts were offered. Had the employee started work on time, my vehicle likely wouldn't have been ready anyway. Both the passenger and cargo sections of my rental were dirty. Even after the keys were handed over, the vehicle was still not as clean as I would have expected it to be, especially for the price I paid for rental. However, I believe the employee tasked with vehicle maintenance (who was jovial and helpful) had fallen behind in their duties that morning because they were busy dealing with the fallout from the tardiness of their associate. Ultimately not their fault. I wouldn't recommend this U-haul location to others at this point in time. Yes, these things do happen. I myself have been late for work every once in a blue moon over the extent of career. It was the way in which the late employee - and the company - handled the matter. Had they simply apologized upon their arrival, explained that they would work quickly to process everyone, and even offered a small discount for the waiting customers, that would have gone a long way to rescue the situation. I might give the location another shot in the future, but not at this point in time.Ryan B.

I've been to many U-hauls and this has got to be one of my favourite, it was so professional, friendly, and organized. Sunny was an amazing guy who helped us out a lot and I often saw him helping out other employees, he was the calm guy that everyone can count on. I loved that All the forklift drivers were women. I've never seen that before at any other u-haul or building site. They all drove around with such confidence and care. I would come back.Bryan E.

This was a terrible experience start to finish - the app was VeRy glitchy, it said I was ready to go out to the lot and while I was tryign to find my van the loction closed and the van I was trying to rent wasn't actually ready; I ended up in a bigger vehicle that cost more, the checkout process was close to 45 minutes all in. several times through the process I was worried I wouldn't get a van at all. Fix this, please. Car share technologies exist, are out there, and if you implemented them this would be a very valuable service. I would pay more for real, reliable 24/7 carshare access to uhaul trucks but at the moment you are offering a very substandard softward + rental experience.Cara S.

I have rented a number of time from this location. The is always a long wait to pick up the vehicle. They could use another person at the desk. There is usually only one and they are on the phone with customers a lot. This makes for a long line and wait time. The trucks are good. They could clean the inside of the windshield. Also, always make sure the gas tank is full. Nothing bothers me more than having to head to a gas station after a long wait.Alan C.

Quite disappointed with the rental service of this branch. I've always rented their cargo vans in the past with no problems but this time the whole transaction was a messed. My visa card had a duplicate charged and money paid out on the 2 transactions. This was supposed to be a single Pending Hold Transaction at the time of booking and only then processed after the return of the vehicle. Upon this, a 3rd $ amount was billed upon returning the vehicle. Having a frustrating time trying to get the error rectified by their staff. Information on where trucks waiting for pick up may be parked. My vehicle was parked around the back that is not visible to customers and a long walk around. The staff were busy and those in the parking lot out front not helpful when I said I couldn't find my truck. They all just told me to go speak with an agent. It would be nice if you had lock boxes for the key so when doing mobile pickup people didn't have to go inside to get the keys from staff. Especially since your whole "skip the line" thing only works if all staff aren't in the middle of helping other customers!! So you still have to wait for them to have a moment to get the keys for you. Also, parking spaces are super tight -- my vehicle was parked so close to others that I couldn't even open the driver's side door and I had to get in the passenger side and climb across!LIANNEE B.

I recently rented a utility trailer for the first time from UHAUL at their 355 Weston Road location. The service provided by their staff far exceeded my expectations. Tanya respectfully addressed my questions and concerns when finalizing the rental contract. And importantly, Sunny provided friendly and expert help by connecting the trailer to my SUV and explaining everything that I needed to know about towing it. Since this was my first time towing a trailer, his help made the process easy and it meant a lot to me. Thank you Sunny and Tanya.MICHAELW D.
The truck that I booked wasn't in the store. The customer service said that she could do nothing for me. One hour later, when I supposed to pick up the truck, she gave me a smaller truck and a pick up (and charger for this). My move delayed for this reason and I had to deal with delays on the previous building and the new one, for where I moved. It was one of the most terrible experiences in service and customer service that I had in my life. I got terrified and panicked, thinking I might not move that day. And the consequences would be detrimental. I had to make two travels due to smaller truck size, which gave me a terrible headache. I would never recommend this service to anybodyMilena R.

I signed up for 6 am smartphone â€œ24/7â€pickup at a location close to me but last minute was changed to in person pickup at this location for 9 am. I was told to get there one hour early and did but for no reason: no service until 9 am. So this delayed our trip last minute by 3 hours. It would be better if you were up front about the time and place for pick up instead of changing at the last minute. It was frustrating. Also I was charged for a dolly but didn't receive one.David I.

I had a reservation to pick up my truck at a Mississauga location and the day of my moving my truck wasn't there and I wasn't informed. I had to go all the way to Toronto to pick up another truck which gave me extra cost, extra stress for my moving and a huge delay on my moving. I also had to pay extra movers due to the delay. This issue with U-Haul made my moving more expensive. The customer service was terrible. I would never recommend U-Haul to anyone and I would need a refund from U-Haul as you didn't comply with the reservation I had.Juan R.

I was pretty disappointed with the dimensions and location of the locker (ie not at ground level and very awkward to pack). I rented a 5x5x8 locker and it is not that size. I had to store a queen size bed, which is heavy, but not rigid. The bed does not fit neatly within the locker due to the smaller dimensions and I had to lift it up to the second level up some risky moveable steps. Because the door was not 5 feet across, the interior dimensions not 5 feet across and the locker was almost 6 feet above ground level, it was extremely difficult to put my bed in there. Because I had to store my bed on an angle in the locker, I will not be able to store much more of my stuff in there. It is what it is. Place is very clean (although the rodent trap in there makes me a bit nervous - hopefully nothing dies in there and stinks up my mattress and the small amount of clothing I was able to store); staff is nice and friendly; the facility seems secure. I'll still rent trailers and stuff from UHaul, but I probably won't store stuff there anymore.Thomas N. | Online Move In

There's no level of accountability from uhaul. They somehow messed up at every interaction I ad with them: truck being late, rental equipment not being available, passcode for after hours access not working after being set up, being charged for a second day of rental due to not being able to store my items in the storage unit since the password they gave me was wrong and having nowhere to go (I was told I wouldn't be). After all this I was told it's my fault for sleeping in the truck nearby instead of spending money on a hotel, I was told to "figure it out" when calling for support about my passcode for after hours access not working (they set up the wrong one instead of using my phone number). Nobody there really cares about you as a customer or even a human being for that matter. But the staff at the location was nice and friendly though. Rep “sold” me a unit explaining that it was the expected size and even showed me in person the sample unit in the showroom, we agreed to go ahead. He gave me a price, I did not check, started the billing cycle and he proceeded to charge my card. Then a couple days later we brought our boxes up only to find that 40% of the unit was inaccessible due to concrete bulk head and roll up door interior. We wasted days and hired help having to relocate to another unit, promised to be the same price. AFTER we relocated all our stuff they automatically charged me more saying “well it’s a bigger unit” without agreeing with me first. AGAIN wasted a week and had to hire help again to come and remove everything as it was not in our budget and frankly the service was horrible. Staff would stand by with a blank look while the elevator didn’t work, and said we had to walk around the building to get them to find help at the front desk, all while she was standing there doing nothing holding a radio and a mobile phone. Doing nothing. Wandering around checking her phone doing who knows what but defo not customer service. I’ve never had such bad service anywhere. Wasted at least $300 on nothing and 10 days of redundant service and waste precious time trying to move house - setting me back at least 2 weeks timeline besides the wasted money. Over the course of eleven months, my locker experienced two floods. The first time, my locker was moved to another location **on the same basement floor**. It was bizarre, since that didn't fix the issue. Two months later, my locker was flooded. Again. With sewage. It was awful. I lost a few boxes. The management did not offer to compensate me, or to move me to a locker that would be less prone to flooding. The second time around we found we had to wait a bit because the sliding doors were not open we ask two times the first time around and then when we went to go grab our things to give them time to open to get to our truck the doors were still not open. Donna and Kim at Stockyards made a very difficult move a truly wonderful experience. I regret that I didn't ask all of the staff who I dealt with for their names because they were all great. I had a very positive experience from the moment I walked in the door and it continued until I left. At every turn I was treated with, not only respect and consideration, but they were so, professional, such decent people, and so kind to a customer who needed help. And they did it with a beautiful smile, laughter, and such sweet kindness that I will never forget it. Never. I’ve used uhaul for two long haul moves and paid thousands of dollars to them in the past month. Uhauls booking system is filled with errors and misscommunications. Both of my moves where very stressful (naturally) and having uhaul representatives not able to find my reservation to assist me/ reservations not being properly connected caused a domino effect of problems . There was an internal system error that delayed my move by a day. I ended up finding a hotel to sleep in for the night and paying extra unplanned costs. Calling the main uhaul number I am being transferred to different folks who aren’t able or willing to help me in my dispute. I was informed that even though an internal error caused this issue I would need to speak to the general manager of Toronto to settle my dispute. When she called me from +1 (416) 335-1260 she said her name was Karen. Her demeanour was very defensive and rude. She hung up on me, when I called back I spoke to a person named Donna who left me on hold for an hour of complete silence and never called back Every in-person interaction I’ve had with uhaul customer service at Stockyards location has been great - calling in for assistance to the main uhaul number has been a nightmare. I am left with the impression that because I already paid my rental fees there is no real interest in assisting me Very appreciated of the folks in person at the location to assist. They were amazing help along the way - But I am very disappointed and sad to say the least about Uhauls system for following up post-move to settle disputes. The main problem I had using this service was that you did not accept visa debit for online payment. This made paying for my storage unit a complete hassle and waste of time. Multiple times I had to take time off work and go out of my way to pay for my storage unit in person rather than online or on the phone. When I called specifically told them that I needed a unit to put a Queen size bedroom set they reserved a 5 by 5 by 5 it were a small box that could not even put my dresser. So when I went to check in I asked the lady at the desk if it would be big enough to hold my queen size bedroom so she took me to show me the size that they reserved on phone ,it were not what I needed so she gave me the bigger size a 5by 6by 7 but it too small. I think they should educate there employees of the sizes appropriately for customers description. Also there were not enough moving cart for a search a big and well known facility. There were only 4 carts and numerous people were moving. The alarm keeping on going off when using the elevator even when you put the code. Tanya (the Manager at the Stockyards location) is excellent. Anytime I had an issue or concern she handled it immediately, to my satisfaction and ensured that I felt like a valued customer. She is organized, helpful, able to remain calm but firm when dealing with difficult people or situations and an absolute asset to the uhaul brand. Even though I had made an online reservation, when I arrived, I was told the unit was not available, with walk-ins given priority. Fortunately, another similar size unit was available. It worked out, as the unit I thought I was getting needed a ladder to access it and we had several heavy pieces of furniture. Parking was confusing but ultimately manageable. I think the U-haul website should mention that some lockers are accessible only by a ladder and should also mention that walk-ins are honoured over reservations. U haul Toronto weston road location : very poor customer experience, the staff is super unfriendly, barely answering the questions, not smiling at all, looking super mal and annoyed if you dare asking a question. also , the area where you are supposed to unload the truck is SUPER TIGHT , getting into the warehouse was a headache, there is barely enough room for a car. The toilet is a big mess and not clean beside there is only one for women and men for all the clients, i recommend to make at least 2 washrooms and schedule a daily cleaning service for them under close supervision. Would love to give a higher rating, but.. I booked online on the 25th of October, for a move-in date on the 26th. I figured I have all day of the 26th *as is convenient for me* to store my belongings.. makes sense right? I received a voicemail on the 26th at 3pm from staff saying that they assume I've moved out and will be cancelling my storage unit. WUT? So I called back within 10 min saying, no, please leave my unit for me I just haven't had the time to come and bring my belongings yet and I've only just booked the unit the night before! I would probably be there later that evening, as I understand storage access hours are until 10pm. They said no problem. I get to the facility at 7:30pm with a truck full of my things, only to find that my access code is denied as well as there is no lock for the unit I booked. I can't talk to anyone about remedying the situation because office is closed, and head office (although available) obviously can't help get me in to my unit. So I have to go back home and unload everything that I had loaded up, just so I could repeat the process the next day when office opens. Frustrating obviously. Either your online booking system has some bugs, or the girl I talked to on the phone that afternoon didn't do her job. I would like to say though that the staff member who helped me get in on the morning of the 27th (and had served me in the past for other services) was lovely, and this woman deserves a raise.Andie W. | First Impressions

In regard to question number 6. It’s very clean from one perspective but the other perspective it isn’t. The mop head is extremely musty. When using the mop the whole place would end up smelling musty. Would highly recommend getting a fox washing machine and dryer to wash and change the mop heads out or just put a new mop head on every 3-4 weeks. Also after using the mop store it upside down so it can dry, don’t leave it in the bucket (can’t dry in the bucket). My storage unit was slanted. I didnt receive the full 5x5x8 because of this. You should do a walk through with the customer when they rent the unit. I wasnt loading it until after hours and didnt take a look at the unit until then. Since I loaded after hours there was nothing I could do, no staff to contact. The storage unit was clean and big enough for my stuff to be stowed comfortably. The whole of storage building is clean, well lit and inviting. The front desk staff service was a bit slow when we first went to rent the storage when even we were just about 4 to 5 people in line. Apart from that staff were very helpful and professional. there were customers moving out blocking the docks and the driveway which made our moving out delayed over an hour. Your office employees did not deal with those rude customers and let them park their truck in the driveway anyway. They were also using all the building moving equipment and hoarding the elevator for themselves. You need to put up instruction rules on the use of the facility and not allow people like to act this way. We pay movers by the hour and this was a waste of my time and money. If you fine those rude customers they will stop acting this way but ignoring this behaviour will make you lose customers like me.ALIA A. | Overall Experience
