I was completely dissatisfied….I didn’t use my storage for a full month and was charged for a full month….I also was unable to get my things out of storage for 1 full week because of the parking lot asphalt being replaced and painted….there was no warning or head up notices for this work being done….July 31st I was surprised to see the place was coned off to access the facility…I was told by august 4th that I would have access….on august 4th I was told I wouldn’t have access until august 6th….the results of me hiring movers twice, no access twice, not using the unit for a month, not having access for a week, and not being compensated for time and money I spent, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all….and I will be contacting corporate to make another complain about this situation…Harlon B. | Overall Experience

The employee who helping for return was so mad all the time coursing using bad words just because he doesn't know how to remove the tow dolly from the truck he was throwing the tools everywhere was very angry and not happy with his job. I told him to be patient and relax then I removed the dolly from the truck. The problem was the dolly hook which connected to the truck which can't be removed unless u remove the spear tier. Any how I removed the tier and took of the hook. It was so simple if the employee control his hanger.Fnu M.

They use an adjacent business for their parking lot and don't let the public use their parking lot. To get the actual truct you have to drive a mile down the road and talk to a guy in a van who may or may not be there.Matthew S.

Understand that their parking lot was being resurfaced. The location where they put their trucks had no one to help to the right truck. Say people when we returned it later in the day though. Customer service wise, would definitely consider renting again. This location is a little awkward with the trucks being in a different location, but that wasn't too bad. Loved the new check-in process and allowing me to take photos of pre-existing damage. Equipment-wise, though very clean and nice interior, the ride was total garbage. So the original location where I had scheduled the pick-up was very unorganized and did not provide a good experience. The parking lot off blocked off with no signs to tell customers where to park. There were also no trailers or trucks at the location, which made the facility look like it was closed. Once parked at the nearby gas station, I awkwardly walked across the lawn to get inside, the staff had no sense of urgency as I waited in line for a long time. Also, there were no signs that explained the direction of the foot traffic inside the store, I felt very awkward when they told me to walk around to the other side of the stack of boxes in the middle of the floor. Once I got to the counter, they told me that they are getting their driveway redone so I will need to go up the road to get the trailer. It would have been nice to have received an email or text to be notified of all of this. When I asked where is the other locations, the staff member said, "Oh it's just up the road." I asked for the address, and she did not know it, or look it up, but confirmed it was "just up the road." I'm not from around the area so I was slightly annoyed. Once I drove up the road and found the location it was completely unclear where I were supposed to go. There was a huge storage location, but there was no U-haul office to confirm that I was here. I drove and walked around the plaza to no avail. I couldn't find anyone or a storefront, and of course, I couldn't get ahold of anyone on the phone because all the calls were directed to the corporate phone tree. Additionally, it was incredibly hot outside making all this confusion more irritating. Finally, I found a single staff member in the parking lot who had been busy organizing and possibly cleaning trucks. We confirmed that I was here for a pickup, but I had to wait for him to serve 3 other people until I could get instructions on where to go or what to do. I don't understand why there wasn't staff from the office helping him. (I'm a white woman, and I am not thrilled that there were 3-4 white staff members working in the a/c office, who made the one black man work out in the heat.) Once I had his undivided attention, everything was fine. I was able to hook up the trailer and the lights with no issues and go about our day. I will never go back to this location again, and I would highly not recommend it. I wish I had scheduled the reservation in Shawnee or Overland park, even though it was much farther away.Crystal W.

Uhaul on in truman corners is poorly managed and very unhelpful and unprofessional. My reservation was not ready, the staff could not find my truck- however my movers did. I did not receive any dollies and i reserved 2. I waited 20 mins to speak to a worker, but he was in the bathroom taking his time. I waited 40 mins on the phone to speak to customer service, who really didn't seem interested in my complaint and asked what did i want her to do, do you want me to locate you a dolly? No! I want my experience reversed and to have never done business with uhaul!!ashley P.
I can never reach a human at the local U-Haul location I rented a truck and a unit from when I have questions. I cannot log into my U-Haul account and I need to be able to contact someone. Now I'm canceling my unit and done with U-Haul until this issue is resolved.Kayla G.
The U-Haul “System” seems to be pretty poor. When I reserved a trailer in Birmingham AL to move sone things to Grandview MO, they asked if I needed any storage. I reserved a storage space at Truman Corners in Grandview but when I arrived there to turn the trailer in, they said there were no unit’s available. It was only because of the General Manager’s efforts to work out a solution for me that it worked out at all. Great job by the manager but pretty poor job by U-Haul. The staff at U-Haul said this is not uncommon. The U-Haul reservation system seems to be the problem. That is not good customer service or good business practice. Truck was given to me on empty. Was asked to bring it back with a 1/4 of a tank and would be credited 60-70 dollars for the inconvience and when I returned with a 1/4 tank was only credited 30.00. when asked I was told "I'm just doing my job, I dont know" Mind you this is the same kid that told me 60-70 dollars when I got the truck. First I called to check on how I get the Uhaul after closing hours because I had a booking for 7:30 p.m. after closing hours. They sprung on me that my Uhaul had been cancelled somehow. So I had the lady on the phone set me up a new Uhaul from a different location for 7:15 p.m. I have the receipt with proof that it was set for 7:15 p.m. We show up and there was no keys there for us and I asked a worker that was leaving because they had just closed and he said they had no reservations even though I had the receipt and order number. So I had to call and RESCHEDULE again for the morning and when we showed up at opening at 9 a.m... the boss was running late and he didn't show up until 9:45 a.m. to unlock the place and get business started almost a hour late. By that time there was such a huge line of angry people and our 9 a.m. reservation didn't even get until almost 11 a.m. Really put us behind on our move and made the process so stressful and rushed. It just seemed like one thing after another. The return process was super quick and easy but everything before that was too much to where I would almost spend more somewhere else with a different company next time to try to hope for less stress and problems.Jason B.

I would suggest better customer service the day I had to pick up a rental I waited in line for 1.5 hours. Not one clerk greeted anyone in the facility or outside. Not one person said sorry for the wait we're moving as fast as we can or anything they avoided looking up when walking back and forth from getting the trucks. They lost my original reservation at the place that was 2 miles from my house and where I was moving to. I had to drive 20 miles to the new location (my help was waiting for 2 hours at my house to move which cost me), stand in line for 45 minutes because there was only one person working. I was helped and ready to go drive the truck but the worker helped the next person behind me before going to get my truck which added an extra 10-15 minutes on my time. The app was very hard to use when returning the truck. Just not a good experience at all. I have to move the rest of my stuff now and while Uhaul is right next door to the location, I am inclined to go with another company.Kenneth W.
