Everything was Excellent until I received my receipt via email which I was charged an additional fee for Coverage; SafeMove $14.00 WITHOUT my authorization. Made 2 calls speaking first with Maureen then Wendy which they both emailed JOSE the mgr for this location and have not receive a response yet. We couldn't get the lock off the truck to get the keys due to it being cold outside so we had to find an employee to assist and he struggled with it as well for awhile until we were able to get it open. I had a 9:30 appointment which I arrived about 5 minutes early for. There were 3 people a head of me and by the time I actually got to the front counter it was past 10:00 am. Service was incredibly slow. Then the link they sent for me to do a condition report it wouldn't work. Service was very slow and a little frustrating. The back of the truck especially over the cab was full of mud, as if the previous renter had moved potted plants or topsoil. I had to spend the first 45 minutes of my move cleaning the truck so I wouldn't be placing my household furniture in mud. Then I get charged double rental for bringing the truck back 22 minutes late by their standards but because I didn't get to pick up the truck until 8:21AM with all the locating of the truck and waiting for the online check in to verify and photos. So I really had the truck from 8:21AM to 4:22PM being 1 minute over 8 hours , but still charged another full day. That is a scam on top of scam. Be aware that you'll need at least an hour for online check in/out and you'll be charged for a minute over. So if your at risk of being a minute over might as well keep it another 8 hours.Matthew S.

Check in was painful. Between the guy in front of me and myself, it took probably 30 minutes for it. Only one employee at the counter while a line formed behind me; 4 people deep. I felt badly for them. The guy that checked me in knew what he was doing but seemed uncoordinated and inefficient at his tasks. It didn't help that the utility dolly ID numbers weren't in the computer or whatever else he had to do to get mine ready. Probably 5 or 10 minutes to do that. The only reason I would come back is convenience. I've rented from the Uhaul in Saukville, WI a few times and they are very efficient and act with a sense of urgency. Checkin has never lasted more than a few minutes.REID M.

I have been a UHaul customer for over 15 years and here are the top 3 things I was offended by today that will make me seek storage and truck rentals somewhere else. 1) Having to give my cellphone number and home address. 2) Having to take pictures of my driver's license and of the rental vehicle. 3) Having to retrieve the vehicle key from a lockbox on the side of the building.DAREN S.

I have used this location before and service was fine. This time I went to pick up the trailer and the person hooked me up and then tested the lights, the parking lights didn't work and I was told that I couldn't take the trailer until I repaired the lights on my truck. To save time I returned with my company truck to pick up the trailer. It was a different person that hooked me up this time, he hooked me up and then went to the back of the trailer and told me to use my turn signals and brake lights and said I was good to go. He said he was happy because when he first hooked me up he saw a spark. As I drove home I realized that the running lights still weren't working. When I got home I called the rental location and told them that I suspected that the trailer was actually the problem with a dead short. I was told that I could pick up a different trailer. I picked up a different trailer after I had to run around to find replacement fuses, I went through (3) fuses troubleshooting the problem at $5,75 a piece. It cost me almost all the morning and $16.75. I find it hard to believe that the lights aren't checked in between uses.GREGORY L.
Make sure you have a phone that has excellent reception, could not download a photo of my driver's license, took foreverrrrrr! Even using their guest Wifi. Same thing happened outside when I wanted to take photos of the existing damage to the truck for documentation, could not get a good signal to download to their form that they want you to fill out before leaving the parking lot. My favorite part was the return. The younger male that helped with that was working hard, friendly and anxious to be helpful. I don't know if I'd say the same of the people inside when I picked up the truck that same morning but at least it ended on a good note. There was nothing special or amazing about this location or people. It didn't frustrate me nearly as much as the Waukesha location so I GUESS that's a plus? I'm also contacting customer service because apparently it costs more to rent on Fridays and Saturdays (which is fine) but it certainly isn't crystal clear and they will get you for more and be sneaky about it.TERRY M.

Besides the fact that it took me two hours to get the truck and I had to drive 20 minutes to another location (which added on an additional $30 because you guys charge 99 cent a mile), the main manager at the West Allis location was an a**hole. The guy helping me out was a mechanic, trying to help out the only other guy working the counter (the manager was in his office). The mechanic guy was nice and helpful, and when the manager came out of his office, the mechanic asked him for some help and the manager LITERALLY said "I don't have time for that". I wanted to jump over the counter and slap some sense into him. Customers ALWAYS come first. Because of this, it took an additional 20 minutes for the mechanic to finish the process and finally get me the truck. First recommendation: teach your people values. Even if the manager was really busy, he could have said "Let me just go sort something out really quick and I'll be right back" Second recommendation: If you know you're super busy on the weekends, schedule more people and always have someone on call. Third recommendation: Spend a little money on your computers, programs, and apps. Having your system crash three times per customer= people waiting at least 3 times as long. Also, if you're going to have your employees tell the customers that everything can be done online, please make sure that the customer can do it online. Fourth recommendation: If the customer is paying to rent the truck and also for insurance, at least give him 20 free miles per day. I understand that wear and tear exists, but some of those miles put on where because the nearest location near me did not have the truck I needed. Give people a little buffer zone. ThanksEDGAR G.

Terminate the employment of all the grifting thugs you employ here. They assess additional charges to their rental contracts for cleaning fees/refuel charges/late fees or whatever they believe they can assess. Avoid this place and find a rental elsewhere. There is a Budget Rental just one mile south from here and a Ryder facility 1/4 mile north. If you seek self-storage sites, you can find many places with greater security than this place at a fraction of the rental rates these pirates swindle from you. You don't have to worry about thieves breaking in here. The thieves here are employed at the site and come with every rental you get.DARIN L.

Offer other options of pick or location. Was sent to this location and took me almost a hour and 30 minutes to get the vehicle I had reserved since it wasn't at the location I originally reserved it at. Called location to transfer info to location and never was done. System was down at location and not enough staff for customer waiting. The employees at the location of the storage facility were helpful but I had to take a day off of work to drive there in person because no one ever picked up the phone at the location. Every time I called I was rerouted to an offsite customer service rep that would state they couldn't help me because they didn't have access to the accounts at a different location. Tried chatting online and was also told that only a rep at the exact location could help. Leaving messages didn't help either. I would get a voicemail with the general number to call back and no one would pick up again. Tried calling corporate and would sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time and then have the same experience. While the face to face employees were helpful, the experience I had moving was horrible with this company. I had to go between 3 locations to get a truck and storage facility and then the size that I ordered wasn't available even though I had paid for it online with a credit card already. Miscommunication from the company only created more issues with trying to relocate out of the area. I have driven over 200 miles extra to deal with issues from moving and using the storage facility. I rented a unit online that would be large enough for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the facility, I was told I'd need take a cart back-and-forth to fill the unit, which I'd never had happen before. I ended up having to rent a different kind of unit I could drive up to. I reiterated that I had furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the unit, it was only big enough for a few boxes. I feel that the prices are very high. The facility hours could be an extra hour. There is never enough staff always have to wait. I ran late four important reason and when I got to the facility I wanted to make sure that I could check out before the staff left. I think they should have oh way that they can access the key and let you be able to still use it since technically it is my last day until at least 10 or 11 because technically it still is my day instead I was locked out from being able to leave and the gentleman inside the desk was not helpful to my friend who went to tell him to let us out. Luckily there was a another employee that was outside other facility that was able to access and help us leave but we still had a couple big things to pick up and we had to leave it outside of the gate because of not being able to still have access. I don't think staff should have to be there to make sure that the unit is clean if I'm paying . They should be able to clean it out the next day that should be their job. We also rented a truck at one point and it is really misleading when they say $19 and some cents for a truck but by the time you include the miles and the hassle of bringing back the truck it was not a quick drop off there is a procedure and very time-consuming I feel that it is very expensive. I guess in a time of need and no one else has a truck a person has to be convinced that this was going to be an expensive rental and realize that they have to close their eyes about the expense of the truck.
