The major negative of the whole experience was having to wait for the parts to come in. I ordered the hitch on 9/21/21, and set up installation for 10/4/21. The parts were not there on that date and did not arrive until two days later, forcing me to cancel my moving help and re-schedule my move. The parts should have been there, and I'd like a partial refund to cover my inconvenience. Only the efforts of your dealer saved this from being a total disaster!!!! U-haul's web site is teriible, and difficult to use. I had trouble getting rental confirmations, returning the trailer to the dealer of my choice, and making changes.L Paul F.

First of all I had to fight and wait for my deposit to be released from Uhaul. I spent over an hour on hold with my bank on a 3 way call with Uhaul customer service to get the hold released because Uhaul wanted to blame my bank. Not the case now it has been over 20 days and I have to wait for a manager to come in tomorrow to call corporate office and hopefully that will resolve it. The truck we rented was terrible shook so bad it was dangerous. Paid a lot of money for bad truck and to have to fight for my money back last lady had attitude because I didn't want to wait any longer for my money. The trailer was not as advertised. Requsted a 6'x12' flatbed which was accurate however it failed to mention that their was a welded metal gate with a 4.5' opening. I specifically said I needed to drive a 5' wide side by side up the ramp, they said no issue. Either I missed the part about I was only getting an estimate, not an actual reservation or it was clearly stated. My daughter was with me at the initial visit and also did not hear that it was only an estimate. Make sure the client knows when this happens. Great climate controlled indoor storage. Bad weather was no problem when storing or removing items because of the indoor, drive-through loading and unloading area. U-Haul has all of the things you need when storing; including boxes, packing materials, provided locks for the units, etc. as well as any vehicle you might need when moving items. The gentleman that was there when I dropped the truck off was so disrespectful and rude. I couldn't believe I was being talked to the way he spoke to me. He continued to cut me off when I was trying to explain my situation and completely dismissed everything I said to him. My husband had to walk away because of the way this man spoke to me. I asked to speak to the manager and he had a â€œtoo badâ€ attitude and said he wasn't there. I paid cash and wasn't told the cash drawer closed at a certain time even though I was there before closing. One of the people that was with me was going to let me borrow the money to put the gas in but I had to give it right back to her when I got the refund. Ended up leaving and not getting a refund at all because of the way that man treated me. I won't be back to this location because of his terrible attitude.TERRI A.
After dropping off the rental I realized I might have left a set of keys in the cab. I tried calling the local store for 45 minutes. No one answered the store locally. IF you can find the local number, all calls are automatically rolled to â€œsomeone somewhereâ€ who then gives you another number which also rolls to a call center. I had to drive 20 minutes back to the store where the attendant was sitting behind the desk reading. After asking about my keys he said, â€œGo look in the truck, they're open.â€ UHaul service is nonexistent on Sunday!DAVID R.

The online process to reserve a U Pod was incredibly difficult (and U Haul does want you to do this all online) and I couldn't complete the process. After a trip to the Hickory site and a conversation with Christine (who was very helpful), I was able to reserve my pod. Next up, I had to complete the process online to hire a moving company from the U Haul recommended list to bring the pod to my house (another horrible online experience), which they then loaded and returned to the Hickory site (they were incredible). At the other end, in New Hampshire, the U Pod was not at the site given on the scheduled date - it was at a warehouse across town. Once I had access to it and unloaded it I breathed a sigh of relief - at least it made it to NH and all my items were in good shape - perhaps the best part of the entire process. In short, the online process is messy, complicated and like working through the worst medical billing problem you've ever encountered. I do give kudos to Christine in Hickory, and the fellow onsite at the Marlboro St., Keene, NH location for their help. U Haul should revamp and simplify their online directions for renting a U Pod, and they should also provide a direct phone line to each site so the customer can talk directly to the people handling their order.Eileen A.

Trucks should always be ready and full of gas at pickup to make it easier for the customer to fill the tank when returning. Estimating how many gallons are needed to fill to a certain level is awkward and makes it troublesome or more likely, over-filled and hence, an added cost for the rental.dan C.

I am currently storing my class A motorhome at this facility. I contracted for a covered space with electricity. I specifically asked what amp service was provided. I was told 15amp 120v which was acceptable. Upon moving my motorhome into there was no power at the 15amp outlet. I called to the office and was then informed it was only available for about two hours per day and was on a rolling basis. I feel like I was misled. The reservation and move-in experience was not confidence inspiring. I felt unsure that I had a unit reserved when I made my reservation ("we will figure that out when you get here"). When I arrived to load the unit, the particular unit that I was assigned was not yet determined and someone "had to check" if a particular unit was available for me. More recently (this past Sunday morning), when I attempted to access my rental storage unit, the electronic clicker would not open the gate. When I attempted to use my card, the gate indicated the card was invalid. When I entered the store, the U-Haul associates at the counter indicated that there was no record of my renting a unit. They accompanied me to the unit (fortunately, I remembered the unit number) to open it. Of course, the keys to my lock worked and I was able to access my possessions. The U-Haul associate indicated that they would "take care of everything" and record my rental in the system. She did not write any of my information down (unit number, name, address, etc.), so I am not confident this will be done. The only thing that needed to be done was the strap on the elevator. It was missing on the top floor. It felt a bit unsafe, but it may have been because I wasn't shown how to use it. Freight elevator. They tried to make it right if you were unhappy with service. Friendly staff. The storage was a bit hot to my tastes but in all fairness, I like a cooler atmosphere. They're trying to save money and electricity I suppose. It's not like you are going to live in it. You're storing your stuff. Clean. Plenty of packaging material available for purchase. Moving straps and such. Good range of vehicle sizes. Gas was a bit much. I think their vehicles could use a tune-up. Used way more gas this time than a previous move back from the same place. Steve Punch is the worst Uhaul employee I have ever come across. He is rude, has subpar emotional intelligence, poor problem solving skills, needs anger management and is overall an incapable person to represent Uhaul. Steve Punch did not solve any problems that he created whatsoever and instead tried to eliminate the problems he created by demanding I leave the store or he would cancel my reservation. Incompetent, pompous and too arrogant to accept any responsibility for his actions. I will never be back at this location and am considering never coming back to Uhaul if Uhaul is complacent with this treatment towards customers. I had reserved a 10X15X10 storage unit. When I arrived, there were not any 10X15X10 units available. They had to give me a 10X10X10 and a 10X5. They did find me two units that were close together. However, when I made my reservation, I wanted a 10X15 not a 10X10 and a 10X5. We did not know it was upstairs and our unit is the furthest from the elevator. So we had to put everything on carts go upstairs walk to the other side of the building and then unload the carts. We moved our storage crates from Pods to U haul. We saved almost 1/2 the cost by using u haul. Steve went out of his way to make our experience as easy as possible. Pods had unbelievable hidden charges and found out when I called to have the Pods picked up from the uhaul facility that they only picked up on certain dates and it would be almost 2 weeks until they could pick them up. I was never informed of this when I called to have Pods deliver the pods I was told to call back when we wanted the Pods picked up. Then Pods wanted to charge me for that extra time until they were picked up. They said they would credit one pod back but I had to pay the full months rent on the other pod. Steve at u haul said he would take care of everything and not to worry. Very pleased with the whole experience.Sandy H. | First Impressions

The day I decided to move into my stuff in the unit their was some very rude people packing the freight evaluator full while I was trying to use it also!! They have the right to use it also but Damm have some respect for others!! I know we are all on a deadline but really come on people don't be so Dam rude to others!! I even asked if there was another evaluator I could use he said no so I guess I was screwed it cost me more for mileage where I rented the truck for!!! Luckily I rented the uhaul from somewhere else!! I guess you win some you lose some in the long run!!Pamela W. | Online Move In
