I was upgraded from a 15 foot to a 17 foot truck for free since they were out of 15 foot trucks (even though I reserved it a few weeks in advance. I originally specified picking up at this location and returning at a different location. However, when I was upgraded, the 17 foot truck apparently had to be returned at this location, but I was never informed of this. When I called about this to get it fixed, I was blamed because I agreed to taking the 17 foot truck, even though I was never informed. The lady said it would have been highlighted on the contract that I signed, however I did it on my phone, and the check in process never informed me of this, and the lady said she doesn't know what the phone does. This forced me to put extra miles on the truck and pay more. The lady was also not very understanding or nice.Cody G.

Liked U-Haul offers climate control and that the units are alarmed. Nice to see carts available to move items into you storage unit. There was plenty of room to back up a truck and trailer into loading area. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only issues I noticed was a truck parked in the loading area for a long period of time that was not actively moving items to and from a unit. I believe this to be a loading area and not a parking garage. The center overhead door was not working to loading area. The restroom facility I used had one toilet that would not flush and there was no soap in the dispenser. Those 3 minor things I mentioned did not affect my decision for my rating. There was a mix up when we rented the 4x8 trailer. They had put us in for a 2 way when it was just a 1 way rental. It was a walk-in rental, Mistakes happen, so I'm not mad about it. They're getting it figured out. The process of moving has been stressful and the staff were super helpful the last few months with storage, truck and trailer rentals. Probably the easiest part of this entire moving experience has been dealing with your Uhaul facilities in the Cedar Rapids, IA (Westdale) and Fulton, MO locations. I was told to simply leave the truck in under the canopy. I did, and then received a call saying that we had not dropped off the truck. This was two days later. I had dropped the truck off two days early. I was also charged for an after hours drop off which was silly since the drop off was 8:30 AM. There was also a fee assessed for damage/cleaning. I made a reservation online the night before at the 16th Ave SW location. It was confirmed, my item was available & waiting. When I got to that location I was told it wasn't available & I needed to drive to the Edgewood Rd location. I asked why I hadn't been informed that the location that I received confirmation from was out. The worker told me they had tried to call but no one answered so they DIDN'T leave a message. I checked my phone, a number had called...3 mins AFTER my scheduled pick up time & there was NO voicemail. I don't answer random number that I don't know. What is the point in calling after I have already gotten to my scheduled location? What is the point in calling if you're not going to leave a message? And why confirm that equipment will be at a location if it is NOT at that location? So my scheduled "quick" pickup turned into a 45 min ordeal.DAVID H.

Well the truck was beat up, I followed the app for disputes and when we got in the truck, we were told it had 3/4 of a tank and when we got to the truck that was parked in the back forty. I spent a 1/2 hr inspecting the truck myself and took pictures. Which meant the crew we had, was standing around waiting on us to get there with the uhaul. I have never been to a uhaul that the personal did not inspect or bring the truck up to the front of the store. We rented a uhaul in May from Coralville and they brought it up front the gal working and i it was told that uhaul hasn't conformed to your policy. Worse experience everTina R.

The pick up location was fantastic could not of been better. Would highly recommendâ€¦â€¦The drop off location and experience was probably as bad as it could've been. The drop off location had three people working two at the counter one outside. There were four customers in the store. The one gal working the counter was standoffish and rude. It's almost like she was trying to invite confrontation with her tone and attitude. Complaining and blaming someone on the phone. The other guy didn't do much of anything. I waited in line 20 minutes for them to tell me that the guy outside had to check me in. They obviously saw me standing in line pull up in the truck and have my paperwork with me. They literally could've told me when I walked in a go to the guy outside. Based off of their attitudes towards the other customers and their coworkers on the phones I think they could care less about customer service. I will go out of my way not to have to deal with this location ever again. The employee outside was disoriented and confused on what to do and overwhelmed. I finally told him I'm leaving my key in the truck And he can check it in when he gets a chance. I'll probably write a google review on this horrible experience with more detail. They should be ashamed of themselves and I would be embarrassed having them as representatives of this company.Robert P.
Ignore the instructions on the big signs that say to wait in your vehicle when dropping off. I waited thirty minutes at the front of the drop-off line because people who arrived after me ignored the signs and went inside. The store opened about 40 minutes too late because the girl that was supposed to open was passed out in her car! Another employee found her there. She gave him the keys to open. He did and the alarms went off. A minute later, she came running in to shut them off. She lied to the security company or police department, whomever it was that called to ask about the alarm. She said she pushed a wrong button. She tried acting like everything was normal while doing her best not to vomit. And offered no apology whatsoever to the people who had been waiting. And then she overcharged me by a day. It was rectified when we brought it back, but still not right. I believe her name was Brittni or something like that. But that was undeniably the worst experience I have ever had with something like this. Now, the trailer itself worked perfectly and served its purpose but I will probably not use this location again, unless I have no choice. It was unbelievable.RYAN J.

I rented a van for the day and wasn't able to complete the self check out because my phone died (which employee was aware of) and no body came to check it out. The gas was 1/4 below where it should have been. I ended up going 22 miles and put 4 gallons back in ($10 and we'll over what I used) even after that it didn't bring it back to what the system said so I was charged an additional ~$13 and they said there was nothing they could do. Once they knew my phone was dead and couldn't do a self check out then they should have sent someone to do that for me. Employee said there was no way on device to adjust for the difference with out charging me. Unsatisfied with this service and will be moving my two storage units out of there.Kevin W.

I wanted to see my storage room, and unload distance so the young lady sent me around the building to the second floor without a code to get in, so back to the counter. Then another young lady decided to help me, and took me thru the building and showed me my unit, not convenient. So she pick another one, sent me around the building to unload, and the doors was locked I couldn't get in. She said oh she forgot she would be there in a few minutes.After almost 2 hours there I just cancel my order and left.. I called the facility with a question and the person I spoke with was rather rude and unhelpful, even right off the bat upon answering the phone. After arguing with me for several minutes, the employee was able to solve the issue I had called about in 10 seconds which made the rest of the call feel like a waste of time. The unit that was made available for me was very dirty and chalky on the ground. It looked like cement dust or flour and it was everywhere. More accurate directions on which door or loading/unloading areas is closest to my storage unit would have been helpful. Also not very clear, in fact nonexistent instructions on how to open the loading dock doors without setting the alarms off. Or do they go off regardless? I wouldn't know. No signs or instructions. It took over half an hour to get set up, despite already having a reservation. (That's half an hour at the counter, not in line - I wouldn't blame a long line on employees.) Staff took an extremely long time to enter my information, and in some cases I had to spell my name or street address up to four times. For example, when I gave them the name "Margie" and spelled it for them, they spelled it "marde". I then respelled it, and they spelled it "marde" again. I had to spell it twice more before they spelled it correctly. Staff failed to apply my month of free storage from my reservation, and I had to point it out and then they had to back up and do it again. Staff told me I was using the same phone number twice, when I was in fact using two different phone numbers that simply had some digits in common - I have no idea why they couldn't tell two different phone numbers apart, but I had to argue with them for over a minute before they would acknowledge that two distinct phone numbers were not in fact the same phone number. Staff assigned me to the unit in the furthest back of the facility, even though there appeared to be plenty of units available closer to the loading area. (This one could be on the system, or maybe none of those units were the right size. I would normally give them the benefit of the doubt here, were it not for everything else that went wrong.) Staff did not explain the layout of the facility, and pointed me towards the wrong loading area. Staff did not explain how the alarm system worked, or where I was supposed to swipe my access card. I had to provide two street addresses and three phone numbers, and the staff would not explain why. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any business, and if anyone I know ever needs storage I will be strongly recommending that they go anywhere but here.Gabriel L. | First Impressions
