The staff at the Westfield, MA location were excellent. My only complaint is that your reservation process is not the best. I asked to pick up the trailer in West Springfield, MA and when I opened the email confirmation, I saw the reservation pickup location was Westfield which was in the opposite direction I needed to go that evening. We were charged an additional $30 for mileage despite the fact our original pickup location was supposed to be in Greenfield. We had to go out of our way to pick up at a different location and were told we wouldn't be charged as it was out of our control.Jeff G.

Explain the gas refill and the rate of extra milage without the customer having to ask. Let customer know that every time the truck is started, towing is engaged and need to shut off if not towing anything. Also explain that the customer will be charged after the fact if toll road is used that only using a transponder.Tammy L.

This location is 1 of 2 that I like to rent from as they are close. Staffs at both places are always knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Despite my finding out none of U Hauls insurances covers "overhead" damages, the rental experience was good but not the OVER BOOKING of reservations which might be a computer problem.Stephen F.
U Haul should refrain from over booking like the airlines. Having to go over 38 miles out of my way on both of my rentals is stressful for a 75 yr old disabled vet. Despite the approximately 20 plus phone call I had to make with all the pick up sites being changed, all the customer service personnel were very nice except one, who may have had a bad day.Stephen F.

The visor wouldn't stay up and was obstructing the field of vision- I had to duct tape it up so I could see the road safely. (The clip to hold it in place was also missing, although it wouldn't have helped mitigate this particular issue.) Please keep an extra key on hand for each vehicle. I locked my key in the van and spent $90 for to retrieve it. The gentleman at the store told me that this has happened four times in the past month. Marks on the van suggested that it had likely happened to that same vehicle previously.Eric M.

Arriving for our scheduled hitch installation at 4:00, the person behind the desk said "good luck, he's going to be the only one here." The person doing the install checked us in and said it would be a 2 hour job and to come back. Our reservation was to stay and wait. At 4:15 the manager (person behind the desk) left the installer alone to answer the phone, handle returns and walk ins. At 7:00 (3 hours in) he drove our car around, telling us we would need to return the following day so he could finish to job as it was not done and he was closing. He agreed to stay after hours to complete the job. At 8:00 (4 hours sitting on the floor) he brought the car out saying it was done. When we arrived in Columbia, CT to pick up the trailer the lights were not working correctly. Their testing showed the wiring was not hooked up properly and they worked another hour to redo what was done improperly. All in all, due to the Westfield locations inability to do the job correctly, we were out 5 hours of time after paying over $500. They were rude and inept at their job. The Columbia location had to complete the job, which we are grateful for, though it set us back slightly on our trip. We are very grateful for the manager, Shane and his staff in Columbia, for getting us up and running. They made an unbearable experience bearable.Spenser W.

Be more upfront about charges. I was thrilled about $19.99 to rent a truck for the day. The insurance was reasonable, and I expected miles. I didn't know there was a $19.99 service fee. That defeats the cheap charge of $19.99 a day. You should just tell ppl it's $40.00. that's my only issue. Otherwise good staff and his experience.Dawn C.

The location and manager were fine. The issue was that our pick-up time was not honored. We originally scheduled for 10:30 am (weeks in advance), then it was moved to 3 pm a few days before and we were called at 2:30 THAT DAY after driving 2 hours to get there and told no truck was available. UNACCEPTABLE! The manager at Westfield worked with us and managed to find us a truck at 6 pm, but the "traffic" customer service folks were rude and unhelpful. We had to scramble to find someone to care for our pets since we were arriving home late. Will NEVER rent with Uhaul again. This is the second time a reservation was not honored as booked in the past year.Mark C.

I don’t blame this storage facility for my very negative experience with the truck I rented and the poor customer service communication. The facility that I dropped my rental off at and got the storage at actually agreed with my negative remarks and said they would like to see some change and they were very friendly and understanding. Overall I enjoyed the service at the facility but otherwise terrible rental, I’m glad after multiple times of check and I finally was able to find this facility. I reserved online a 10x20 drive up unit for $204/month, upon arrival I was informed there were no 10x20 units available. The best solution I was told was to rent side by side 10x10 units inside. I reluctantly agreed as I was there with a truck full of stuff. When processing my reservation it turned out that to rent the 2 units would cost me $300/month which is UNACCEPTABLE. If I was quoted that much at the time of reservation I would never had rented the unit as that is way too much money for me to pay monthly. This move with UHaul has been nothing but problems from the truck rental, the moving helpers, and then the storage unit. I am EXTREMELY disappointed.
