The best part of the experience was an associate (Leo Taveras) I returned the truck and he was getting ready to go home. He took the time to help me return it using the internet and bar code. The car dolly I rented was damage before me use it .. the taillight popped out during the trip because it was tapped on .. and when I loaded the car on to the dolly the strap was short on the right side lucky I was able to make it work but I had to deflate air out of the tire to get strap onto ratchet strapPietro D.

Why is it that the customer service reps lack the understanding what their job responsibility is? Their customer service skills are horrible and U-Haul should be embarrassed to have these reps at first line to represent their company. Either they are on a personal phone call or talking to a colleague about nothing related to U-Haul business. I had to go back in the office three times because the rep forgot to inform me of something. This is even after I checked in early on your site. Also why is it the customers responsibility to purchase a wiring extension cable that was always on the car transporters in the past. I was told they are being stolen. So you know what get that matter resolved. Either remove the extensions when the equipment are returned and put them in a safe spot so its available for the next customer renting your equipment. I had to purchase the extension for 5 dollars which by the way wasn't explained to me when I first checked in. Not a happy customer at all!!Vincent F.

Two big problems: 1) The trailer was missing a wiring harness (the staff claimed it was stolen before I arrived ) so I had to buy a wiring harness with my own money to install so I could use the trailer. Yes, I had to buy wiring to use YOUR trailer. However, I will say the mechanics and outdoor staff were friendly and sympathetic to the situation and helped me buy wiring and treated me respectfully. 2) The lady at the check in counter was the worst. Absolutely no sense of awareness or customer service. Abandoned her post for ten minutes with a line of 8 people and said nothing to anyone coming or going. No hello to anyone, no letting people know what she's doing, no welcome to U-Haul, just silence with everyone. When I did get to the counter it was the slowest check in process I've ever encountered at U-Haul. I had a reservation and I still had to stand there for 15 minutes going through processes at a glacial pace while she would stare at her screen for long periods in silence. Weird and unpleasant. All the people in line were frustrated. I'm summary, bad counter person, badly maintained local equipment, and friendly and helpful outdoor staff.DAVIDALEXANDER G.

Local Uhaul - have been coming over for last 25 years but was shocked this last time on how much it went downhill. Not only was the location dirty, understaffed, van was dirty, but they scammed me for extra fuel money stating I did not fill up when indeed I returned it gassed up. Wow -terrible!Harrison T.

Overall, it was a good experience. It would have been better if we could have left our car on site, but there was no room. The van was okay, rides rough, but maybe that's how they are? I don't have any other experience with vans like these. One thing I really appreciated - the young woman who checked us out recommended that we download a truck route mapping program onto our phones as we were taking the van into NYC (and can't go on parkways due to commercial plates. That suggestion was a life-saver! I've probably driven into the City thousands of times, but never having a commercial vehicle registered vehicles. My sales to her (don't know her name). I am a frequent UHaul customer, both personal and business use. I have never seen customer service so mediocre and subpar compared to other uhaul facilities. The young representatives there lack the initiative to ask customers if they needed help. I, for one had to search for it and beg for it. The truck I received for rental had an AC only blowing through the top vents and not the front, and I brought this to the attention of the representative there. It was 100F as f&$k as b*lls deep that day and all he said was "what do you want me to do?. It's getting night time so the weather is going to be cooler?". Mind you, I had rented this for 24hrs and had to haul my stuff from the old address in queens to port chester and he had the audacity of making a sarcastic remark that it is going to be cooler at night. I am hauling during the day time. The same 100F degree weather, ac blowing air in the wrong direction. I am for one, am not the person who complains a lot because I work in retail. I know how hectic people get at times, be demanding at times. I wasn't even complaining, I just brought it up to them in the hopes they change my truck. He even said afterwards, I can change the truck for you but you have to wait because I have other customers waiting. So, you already got my money and not attend to me anymore? You got what you're here for so leave? That is just not right. I have never experience this kind of service in other uhaul facilities. If there was a problem with my truck the moment I sit down, I tell them the issue and they're more than happy to replace it. After all, I was a paying customer just like everybody else. The van was a bit dirty, especially the windshield. Dropping off was confusing because they did not provide directions on how to do so. There was no one in the office or available to give us instructions. We had to look around until we found someone. All answers to questions 1-6 are qualified by the word "sufficiently," as in "Were the storage facility’s access hours sufficiently convenient?" The access hours could be better if open later, or if the privilege for 24-hour access was not an additional upcharge. I've had this room since the mid 2000s. It was necessary when I lived in Manhattan, useful when I lived in North White Plains, but it's become redundant since moving to a home in Putnam County. I made a reservation for my unit because of a promotion I saw while checking out with my moving truck. It said that I could get a month of storage free with my rental so I agreed. The rate I was quoted was around $160. When the day came and I showed up at the unit, they said they don't participate in those promotions and refused to honor the price on my email confirmation. They said they'd been sold out of unit but of course then happened to have a last minute opening they could give me...at almost double the price. With the new unit, I found some garbage on the floor and it is against the wall of the building and paint was chipping. I still went with unit because it is a little more space for me to go through/organize my stuff & I don't have to climb (It's ground level).... :"t's complicated" at home. My only comment about the facility itself was I wish it had more climate control. There is another self-storage location about a 7 min walk from this U-Haul but I had a bad experience with them before they changed hands.
