Very fast. I reserved it about an hour before I picked it up. It was ready for me, clean and the employee was thorough and helpful. Only downside was it smelled pretty strongly, only 1400 miles so maybe it was new plastic off gassing.

When we got there to pick up the van it was after hours. The vehicle they gave us was parked behind other vehicles without a way to get it out. Luckily they left keys in one of the other vehicles so we could move that to get our vehicle out. It was a bit inconvenient.

Consider where you will leave your car while driving the rental. This location offers very little customer parking. Buy a coffee and ask nicely across the street and you can park at Dunkin Donuts.

Arriving at the Burlington location, I explained the situation that occurred in Rochester to Nate the service manager. Because of the weather (flooding on local roads that day) I had to take a longer route. That combined with the extra miles to get the tow dolly put me over my mileage limit. I also explained that I was charged extra when I picked up the truck. Nate told me he would look into it. He called me 2 days later to let me know he had reimbursed the extra miles as well as the $150 dollars. I could not be more pleased with his response and him taking this on when it was not his "problem".

The customer service was excellent. Orr was his name? Great worker there and very helpful. Anyway he went out of his way to fully explain some of the odd things that Uhaul does. Odd things? Let's see.. here's just one. When you break down with Uhaul, they say "Surf the web" and go to the uhaul website instead of dialing a phone number. What? That's crazy! Well he says it's so they can locate your cell GPS. What ever.

The staff was great! Super helpful, knew their stuff, and seemed to be hard at work. It was a bit frustrating waiting in line for almost 40 minutes to pick up a van I had reserved, only to find it dirty. As a manager in a local retail shop, it felt to me like understaffing

It was the most perfect experience at U-Haul I've ever experienced. I didn't wait in line I was helped immediately in the one that help me was fantastic I wish I knew her name she deserves a raise . You guys are fair and honest and even gave me a lower rate than I thought after I return the truck because I didn't use as many miles or time as I predicted. The truck was in poor condition it shook vigorously at 40mph. Would have told the guy at the store about it but he so extremely rude at checkout, that I didn't get a chance around him telling me to "just get out of here and I'll email the receipt" without asking how it went at all. I guess he was to busy working on his personal vehicle to help customers.

Warn customers that there is very limited parking for leaving a vehicle at this location so you recommend that they have another driver drop them off to get their rental and pick them up when they return it. Location is busy, but staff does a great job of quickly checking people in & out.

Thank you. I was skeptical because in the past I have had my reservation moved to a different day against my will by uhaul. We had no issues this time. Thank you!! They were quick and expedient! They allowed us to keep the truck a second night with no issue. My only concern is that the rep did not do a walk around with me before we left and I had to request a walk around strongly when I dropped it off. We liked the gas gauge in the truck. We loved the appliance dolly. Awesome. The roof was hot enough that we were concerned any plastic touching it would melt. It was worrisome because we had the truck packed to the roof. I can't imagine what the temp must be in the southwest.

Very very efficient staff and very calm handling many customers and calls. Vehicle was super. Not like 40 years ago. They were in tuff shape. I rent this 10 foot box every year sand time. It works out great for me And my business

The truck ran horrible. It kept having issues shifting. I had to keep the uhaul a few extra hours because I felt like I needed to drive it so slowly otherwise it acted up and was charged for an additional full day because it was a few hours late. Not impressed. Also, the back was so dirty when I got it I had to sweep and mop the entire thing before I could put my stuff in it because I didn't want it to get dirty which also added to the additional time that I kept the truck.

I gave them my address and told them that I was driving the uhaul 1 way and then dropping off. I drive straight to the location and parked the uhaul to unload. Then drove it 14 miles to the nearest uhaul drop off location. They then charged me for "going over the mileage" . The only reason I went over was because they didnt account for the miles it takes to DROP OFF THE UHAUL....

I arranged the contract for the U-Haul but was not able to drive the truck so a friend picked it up and drove it for me. The woman who worked with me was outstanding. When my friend picked up the truck he was told that we could keep it until 6pm with no extra charge even though the original return time was 9am. However when he called later to confirm, he was told that no one had told him that and it was absolutely not true! The transaction otherwise was smooth and easy, but being told one thing by one person and the opposite by another person was really frustrating.

My debit card was used fraudulently to purchase moving supplies that I did not order on the same day that I reserved a truck with my debit card. U-haul of burlington reversed the charges after I complained. I was charged for gas and that was an error because I purchased gas and returned the truck with the same amount of gas that it had when I checked it out. U-haul of burlington reversed the gas charge after I complained but I was treated poorly by U-Haul on the telephone during the process. Customer service was very poor in my opinion.

2 of 2 dissatisfied. 1 of 2 :3/31-4/1, was charged 4 days. I returned van at 12:20 ish on 4/1, but was not processed out until 1:20. Also erroneous charges. I called 2x, no one called me back. 2 of 2: requested Dodge van, reserved Doidge van, got the Ford van. I could not get my things inside the van!!! It just doesn't have a big enough footprint. People had a hard time finding a place to park and the U-Haul trucks, etc were just crammed up next to each other. It was a fender bender waiting to happen.

My truck was not available for early pick up as promised so we had to wait. I had a lot of problems with the U-haul app trying to dispatch & the fellow from this location called me & was angry at me because the app did not work. Folks working at your site were very stressed. But they worked it out in the end when we returned the truck. The workers made assumptions that we knew all the steps for app dispatch when obviously we did not.

This location has so much inventory that there is no place for customers to even park to try and pick up a rental. I was just being dropped off, not leaving our vehicle and there was no place to even get dropped off. Had to park down the road just to come in.

It was really difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. Even just driving my four door car in, there was no where to park. I was immediately blocked in by other people arriving behind me, and had to get out of line to move my car. Getting the truck out was a bear as well, it was like a game of tetris. There were many people waiting for service, and I had to wait a very long time. I made my reservation for 430pm, and wasn't helped until about 515. There was one woman working the counter and a man outside helping move vehicles. Thats it. There was no one else there. The people in line were the most annoying part. Thankfully, the two employees were kind, understanding, and efficient. They were graceful under pressure. If it wasn't for their professionalism, kind attitude, and ability at their jobs, I would have been extremely unhappy.

The back of the truck had not been cleaned. I had to sweep it and throw out trash that I had found in the back. I had several issues with my reservations and had to call u-haul multiples times to resolve these issues. Most of the times I called, it was like pulling teeth to get the customer service agent to resolve an issue. I think something that would help with a lot of the issues and frustrations I had, would be not confirming every detail of a person's reservation and then changing it without their knowledge or notifying them about the change when calling for confirmation.

We have used the Uhaul at the Riverside Ave, Burlington, VT location quite often ( 4-10 times a month ) for our business, for over eleven years. Nate and crew are always great ! The improvements in the last 18 months are impressive. Keep up the good work !

The staff were friendly and polite. The big downside to this location is that they do not have parking. I was unaware of this problem until I showed up. As I rented a truck for the day, I needed to leave my vehicle at the uhaul location. I found it very frustrating that they don't seem to have any better advice but to ask the business across the street if you can leave your vehicle there. (Something I was unable to do)

The person who checked us in, Nathaniel, did a great job. He was the only person duty and he handled himself and the work pleasantly and efficiently. The van was clean and well maintained. However, there was absolutely no place to park the van upon return. The lot was overflowing and the person checking returns in was in a very difficult situation. As a driver, it felt very unsafe. I was concerned I would either get hit by oncoming traffic and/or damage the van pulling into an area which was less than a van length long. The person checking returns in was not all that helpful but it is really the fault of management that there were so many trucks and vans that the lot was in gridlock. So, although I think the check in process was very good and the equipment very well kept, the location was not safe. I will try another location next time I help my daughter move.

I requested to pick up the truck at 2800 Shelburne Rd Shelburne VT at 10:00 on Tuesday June 1 for 4 hours. I arrived shortly after 10 and was told that I should've gotten a text (there was a typo in my # in one place but not another) that the location for pick up was moved to 460 Riverside Ave Burlington VT. While the distance is only 6 miles, when you pay for miles every bit counts and the storage we were emptying was at the original location. Also because of traffic we didn't pick up the truck until just after 11 and was told we needed it back before 2 since it was already rented. The guy at the counter changed the rate from $.79 to $.59 per mile but given that we had to add additional miles but that still doesn't take into consideration the lost hour from driving back and forth.

It was the busiest day of the year for moving and they had one person behind the counter!!!! Who was rude! Returning was a nightmare, all the trucks we jammed into random spaces no order and we waited for over 30mins to return only to be told, just leave the keys in the truck. Overall sadly it was not a good experience, sad as we had a good experience in November!

This location was great but the upper management was terrible! After telling me that there was nothing available and having to drive all the way to Barre, they told me that the truck I requested was available in Burlington the whole time. I wasted over 2 hours of time and energy driving back and forth. Every customer service person I spoke with was terribly rude and not helpful. The people at Riverside Ave were great though!

The Customer service at the location was fine at the end BUT when renting, we had a huge problem. I already called and complained but thry made it out like it was our fault that we chose the Burlington location. We reserved online and pick up was at 8:30am. We were pulling into the lot wich is 50 miles from our home and they called at 8:25am to tell us they did not have a trailer that we reserved and that we had to go back 50 miles home to pick it up. They said they called us at 7:00am BUT we have the voicemail that says 8:26am. They were not empathetic at all and basically told us " There is nothing we can do" . I, then called and they rented us a van instead BUT not for the time we needed it. Very disappointed in Uhaul. Itself.

The services at the physical location on Riverside Avenue are very good. The phone system is annoying. If you call the Burlington number, you might get someone in California. That person might think Montpelier is in Utah or something. And you might get put on hold for a really long time.

Don't let the online system say I can pick up a truck before you open if I can't actually do that. It was SUPER annoying to show up at 8:30 and see employees working and trucks sitting there and be told that we couldn't pick up until 9:00, despite the online reservation saying that it would be totally fine. If your employees say that "no one knows anything about the online system" then don't use it. I get that corporate has different styles and rules and ways of doing things, but I would have happily come at 9 if that had been what was scheduled. Leyla (Layla?) who worked there was great but I'm very disappointed in the management.

Myuhaul.com is ridiculous- see comments above. Please revise your process to reflect real life. The drop off location was nice, however someone parked a return in the entrance which resulted in my having to maneuver a 26' truck through residential narrow streets to navigate back around to the other entrance. I realize this is not the fault of Uhaul, but it's a consideration on how this location parks their rental vehicles in anticipation of this occurring ( small lot, lots of rentals, heavy traffic location). The location appeared to be stocked well with vehicles and packing supplies, and when I called earlier in the day the woman answering was pleasant and helpful.

Truck was dirty in the cab and box. Steering was terrible, when the truck was straight the wheel was turned a quarter turn to the left. All this after losing two hours of move time because the truck i RESERVED came back broken the day before.more than enough time to correct the problem, not my problem. I do not feel that my money was well spent. Dont care much for uhaul anymore. I may go elsewhere next move.

Nathan was very helpfull. We had reserved a 20 ft truck two weeks in advance but the only thing available was a pick up truck. Nathan went out of his way and found us a 15 ft truck. Our move was only 2 mi ea way so we just had to make 3 trips. Returning the truck the young man credited us for $ 18.00 gas which was very nice. We do not like this location, Riverside Av. Burlington, but I do understand it must be a good location for the city and all the college students

Do not like your billing process. Credit card was charged $75 up front when estimated bill was $50.62. Then later refunded for difference. Why charge extra up front?

When I went to pick up my rental, I was absolutely shocked to learn that I had to park my car in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot across the street. Then, after I finished crossing busy Riverside Ave., I was told by the U-Haul agent that I should have notified the Dunkin Donut clerk that I was leaving my car, at which point I had to cross again, and was told by the Dunkin Donuts clerk that I had to move my car to a different parking lot. I then had to cross Riverside Ave again, waiting 5 min. for the drive time traffic to let me cross. Then, after I dropped off the pick-up and trailer, I had to cross Riverside ave again to retrieve my car again. I am certainly not a raving fan.

Not very helpful when getting the truck. No directions on how to drive it, etc. There was a dolly in the truck I couldn't use without being charged. Not only is that obnoxious but it took up space I could have used. If I don't want a dolly like I said don't have one in the truck.

The rental agreement showed that the fuel tank was full. After leaving the site the gas gauge was bouncing around from 7/8 to full so I stopped to fill it up before my trip. I put in just over $15 of gas. I called the agent that rented the truck to me and she said she would mention it to the manager. Upon return of the truck the manager said he could not do anything for me. I rent trucks from U-Haul, only, several times a year. I now know that I need to shop around for the best pricing and service. In regards to clean and well maintained-The previous renters contract and documents were still in the truck and I used 63.3 gals of gas to go 490 miles. Half of that distance the truck was empty and all Interstate driving.

My reservation was screwed-up as the documentation said I would pick-up the van at 6:30pm and return it on 6:30am the next morning. That was a mistake. The lady who called me to ask where the van was, was anything but helpful. I was forwarded to two out of the area offices before the question was resolved. The local lady wanted to charge me an extra days charge and was unwilling to even consider that the contract simply had a wrong return time. It should have been 6:30pm. While the issue was seemingly resolved, I will wait until I review my charge card data before wanting to recommend this site to another potential customer.

The location on Riverside is far too hard to get in and out of. The staff were great. The BIG BIG issue I had was I rented and often do, rent 26 ft trucks. It was rented to me with 3/8 of a tank and reminded it must have a quarter tank returned or $30 refill fee plus 3.75 per gallon. Seems like an easy grab for cash on a truck nobody wants to bring to the pump...I HATE scamming companies.

When they tell you to check the mileage and gas level before you leave- make sure you do that!! I did- both were off. I went back in, he changed the gas level, and said he was putting a note on the account about the mileage and they'd credit me when I returned it, just let them know about the note on the account. Well I let the lady know who checked the truck in - and big surprise- they didn't credit me! It may not have been a big discrepancy, but if they do this frequently, it's getting them free money.

I tried to use the U-HAUL app...Terrible experience! Very unfriendly, especially "take a photo the odometer"?! First of all, just a waste of time...you saw it for yourself...it's right there! That step failing gave you guys "above ave." instead of "excellent". If you haven't tried it. May I encourage you to see if you get the same result as I did. When I asked for assistance, with no customers waiting, it was met with "We don't do that. It's just like a Ford pick-up truck inside." I ended up loading the van with all my belongings and putting them in storage just because I was in disbelief that the van really offered that much space. So now here I am in an empty apartment with no clothes or furniture, but at least I had the pleasure of driving such an awesome vehicle!

My last experience with an out-of-state UHaul about 10 years ago was a disaster. This experience was just the opposite. Reserving the truck took just a few minutes, picking it up was easy, drop off was even easier. Having a lock for the back door was a nice touch, and having the blankets and handtruck available only if needed was great. Overall, my perception of UHaul has changed 180 degrees. Nice to know the company is a good option going forward.

When I went to pick up the auto transport trailer, after the credit card transaction I was told it was my responsibility to put the car on the trailer and fasten the tires and chains down. I told the attendant I knew I had to drive the car on the trailer but because I had rented these trailers twice a year since 2013, I knew he had to fasten the tires and chains on. I told him at 78 years old I did not feel safe doing these things. He persisted & I said let's call U-Haul and ask them. They were very busy & had in fact called me around 4:00pm the day before and asked if I could pick up the trailer then and they would give me an extra day. I said I had a dinner to attend & could not do this. He then came out and completed the work. I have never had this experience before. Also I don't understand why my cost for the trailer is always 2X what I pay in Texas. My one experience prior at this location was much better, as were pickups in other locations such as Plattsburg, NY

Rude manager, not helpful in anyway in regards to how to set up the trailer I was forced to go pick up in anotjer far location. Took me 3 hrs to even just get all my equipment! Oil light came on the manager had no idea what it meant or where the dip stick was to even check the oil level. He told me I would be fine I asked if I broke down with a truck full of stuff was he going to come switch over all my stuff since I was a single woman traveling alone.

Right now there are narrow rows from front door to counter and one need to maneuver around stacks of cardboard boxes. To the manager of the location - as you know, this location has had its problems, and I've experienced most of them over the last few years. However in this case I met Nathaneal and a man who (I didn't learn his name) but helped me unload the trailer on Friday Oct. 15th am. Both of them have really stepped up the process and customer service of this location. Both understood the business, customer, and product to a degree that will make the business successful if you can hold on to them. The computerization of the process is a nice feature. From the reservation through through the email of the final receipt saves time and is efficient. Nice feature. Only complaint is the harsh sales pitch to the customer to buy your insurance. Clearly a money maker for UHaul but the customer should be comfortable using their own vehicle insurance as is the case with all car rental companies.

I had to rent a motorcycle trailer and everything went as planned. The only hiccup was that I had asked if there were tie down straps included when I made the reservation and was told there was. When I picked up the trailer though I was told that they were not included. There are tie down rings in the trailer. I can see how there could have been a miscommunication though so I didn't worry about it. Sales person was very nice and helpful. Got in and out no problem. They have an odd shaped lot though. I could see how it works best tough during a busy time. I would recommend them.

This visit was absolute disaster and I'm honestly still very mad about it. I picked up a truck at 10am and was told I could return it before 10pm. I dropped off the keys in the box at 9pm and I was charged for an extra day along with the corresponding insurance. I have called multiple times to resolve the issue and I keep getting told to just wait. This mistake should not have happened in the first place. Please pay attention to when customers returned the vehicles and verify additional charges first. If there is any way you can rectify this sooner, please call me ASAP.

the truck I rented had just been returned and the passenger mirror was broken and unable to be viewed from. It also showed area's from where it had side swiped an object, the agent did mark some of the damage at the time but not all of them I did have concerns about not being held responsible for it. Other than that she was very pleasant and helpful under the time frame ( they were busy and it was close to closing time) I think she did a great job. The two hour rental was worth the price.

I have never had a worse experience with a company in my entire life. I requested a van or smallest moving truck when I first made my reservation (over the phone). Then when I came in they had no smaller trucks like I had originally requested so I changed my reservation for two days later so I could get the size truck I wanted being very specific with the person behind the desk-- they said it was no problem and "changed my reservation." When I came in two days later they gave me the same large truck and the SAME PERSON behind the desk pretty much said I was s.o.l. because thats what my reservation said but they clearly just didn't change it. Not only did I pay more incompetence, they were terribly rude. My first and possibly last time using this company.

I originally reserved the trailer in MILTON, Vt which is 10 minutes from my house and got a call two days before telling me it wasn't available at that location. They said I had to pick it up in St Albans which is only 15 minutes from my house, then called me an hour later to tell me that one also was not available and I had to pick it up 35 minutes away in Burlington which I had to take two hours off work to do because I don't go to Burlington for anything. It was very inconvenient. The MILTON office called the Burlington office to ask if they could go get it and the Burlington office refused to release it. Very poor customer service. Also, the girl at the counter almost made me get the additional insurance because she was not educated about what was covered if you didn't take it.

The only reason I rented from Burlington is because the truck UHaul online told me would be in Morrisville, was not. Why do you tell someone that reserves online to confirm with the local UHaul agent when they can't even see the details of the reservation until the day before pickup...and then it's too late if the truck or trailer is not there. Epic fail! It delayed my schedule over an hour. It inconvenienced others beyond myself. Planning on my part was totally undermined by the failure of UHaul's system that lacks common sense. By the way, the moving blankets I paid for were covered in leaves and dead grass. Just what I want to put over my nice furniture.

Moving day in a college town can be a stressful day - but this was not the case, our storage unit out and available to us with no delays. Renting a u-box was perfect to store large items short term.

i notified that we were to be there friday on wednesday. we arrived and had to wait nearly 1 1/2 hours to get access to the u-boxes Someone loading a box should not be tying up the warehouse.

We were absolutely appalled to find that Uhaul is not set up to take pre-scheduled third party payments. A national moving company never does employer-sponsored moves. REALLY!?!??

Our representative, Ryan, at the Riverside Ave UHaul in Burlington VT has been terrific. Other reps have not been very helpful. Also, the UBox is poorly constructed. It`s a rip-off.
