RAT POISON TRAPS AND MOUSE GLUE TRAPS, A TOTAL OF 3 INSIDE THE UNIT I RENTED. NO SEAL AT BOTTOM OF ROLLING DOOR ON RIGHT SIDE UNDER LOCK AT DOOR LEVEL. I WAS TOLD THE UNITS AT THIS FACILITY HAD RECENTLY FLOODED. THIS STORAGE LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL AND CLEAN UNITS IN THE ONLINE VIDEO. I WAS ASKED BY THE EMPLOYEE ON DUTY FOR MY LOCK CODEWORD ON THE $15 LOCK I HAD JUST PURCHASED. WHEN I TOLD HIM I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THAT HE SAID HE DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE IT. ALSO, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION BY U-HAUL'S ONLINE ADVERTISEMENT THAT THESE UNITS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE CLIMATE CONTROLLED. I WAS HOWEVER TOLD THAT THESE UNITS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXTREMES OF BOTH HEAT AND COLD. THE STUFF I PLANNED TO STORE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT RISK. I RETURNED THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE DAY AFTER I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT, TO RETRIEVE MY ITEMS. I DID NOT FEEL THEY WERE SAFE THERE. I ASKED FOR A PARTIAL REFUND SINCE I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS, AND WAS REFUSED BY THE MANAGER THAT THE PERSON ON DUTY CALLED ON THE PHONE. I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH A REFUND FOR 3 WEEKS NOT USED, SINCE MY STUFF WAS THERE OVERNIGHT.THOMAS S. | First Impressions
the 5x9 open trailer was perfect for loading and unloading the brush material I had to dispose, MUCH better than trying to get it all in my pickup with a cap. Staff were profession and quick in setting me up and returning the trailer. A GOOD experience.Andrew M.

Be consistent with pricing and HONEST. First rep told me 79 cents a mile. I came in a second time to extend rental, rep told me 89 cents a mile. I asked why 89 cents? Because it's the weekend? He said, â€œyeah, probably.â€ Then returning truck, representative says 99 cents a mile, and 5 rental periods. I told him others said 79 cents and 89 cents and asked WHY 99 cents a mile? He said, â€œOh because somebody probably did something they weren't supposed to.â€ I told him I had it 4 periods. He charged me for 5 anyway. I had it Friday 6pm to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday, Sunday to Monday, and Monday to Tuesday at 6pm. That's 4 periods which is 96 hours. I reserved a 20' truck and car carrier. When I went to pickup Gettysburg Uhaul had a 26" truck and no car carrier. I received a confirmation call and email the day before pickup. This was a very frustrating experience. I don't know about other dealers, but stay far away from the Gettysburg, PA Uhaul. On a positive note, the truck ran well, but it wasn't what I ordered. Plus the lack of a car carrier, made us change ALL our plans on moving day.. Gettysburg is very poorly managed.Mahlen P.

Waited 35 minutes on the phone, only to be told she could not help me with my billing issue. She hung up on me when I had more questions.. Called back wait time 45 minutes. Tried on line. Nothing. Never heard back. Uhaul is not the company it was 5 years ago. Customer service none. God forbid if it was a real emergency.WESLEY S.

When we dropped off during business hours there was a concern that nobody came to officially check me in so I needed to take pictures to ensure that we were not charged anything extra since we were 1 hour ahead of schedule and filled up the gas.JOHN S.

The wire harness controlling the left tail light had a short in it on the tongue of the trailer that I had to repair. The trailer was not ready upon my arrival despite my reservation from months prior. No assistance connecting or leaving the location. Although I didn't require assistance there was only one overworked very polite and patient employee on site. Very good service inside but no inspection and again I had to fix the trailer light myself.David R.

Very rude and sarcastic general manager. Absolutely no customer service or caring about the situation. No communication that equipment was not available or when it would be back. They rented our long distance truck for a local move and then allowed customer to extend time on truck with no regard that we were picking up truck the next day. Delayed our move entire day. $100 discount and extra mileage was no compensation for what happened or how we were treated. Manager was rude and obviously did not care about the us.Donald L.

The truck was to be picked-up after hours and I arrived (after driving 1 hour to get there) to begin process of on-line sign- out only to receive message that I had to come back (1 hour drive) when the facility openedâ€¦ so I called customer service (waited 50 minutes to speak to a Customer Service representative only to have him tell me I'd have to come the next morning). I told him I was very disappointed and would expect some sort of reparation for all this grief! He said I'd have to work that out with the agent when I picked-up the vehicle the next morning. By the time I got there I'd already lost 8 hours, a night's sleep and some of the moving helpâ€¦ had to load myselfâ€¦ So I just signed vehicle out and got on my way. Turn-in was a breeze. Very pleased with that part of the ordealâ€¦ so please tell me you'll do something for my next rentalâ€¦ at least.Andrew D.

Following the posted instructions, I waited with my return. Until another return came in, walker inside and then left. No one let me know, that all I needed to do was go inside and let them know I was dropping off my truck. To be fair there were only two people at the location and they were helping other people. What was troubling is that one of them was outside and did not just simply let us know that we could run inside and drop off the key. Regardless of the miscommunication, once inside, the checkout was quick and painless.Jordan U.

I received a terrible voice mail on my drive to my destination because I didn't have the U-haul back in time. I was stuck at a stand still on US-95 due to a 3-car pile up (I do not answer my phone driving! So day late returning and they told me to leave keys in vehicle. Thankfully I took picture time stamped. They never checked it in and I had to go back next day to get it checked in before I was charged again!!!! Terrible service (not all the staff). A couple of the guys there were really great. Young gentlemen finally checked me in was nicest guy ever. I have used U-haul for 30+ years and this is the first time I have had an issue.Victoria B.

Poor communication service from wherever corporate is located. 1. Your website lists equipment that is not actually available, you track everything on the web so you should be able to track equipment inventory. This could have been done 5 years ago. 2. I had to go to a secondary location to pick up my truck. I picked the first location because it said my truck would be guaranteed which did not happen. This made me late for the movers. The only compensation I was giving was a $50.00 credit for the guarantee.Heather B.
The issue wasn't so much with the location, but the online check in process. For some reason I was required to enter my license photo two separate times in two separate places and did the complete check in online, yet there was nothing expedited about my being on my way with a rental truck.michael J.

Have used this location before and everything has been fine. I do have a complaint about haul regional scheduling that caused me to lower my experience with this location. This order for the truck was changed as far as miles allowed and even days I requested by regional and I had to call regional to get allowed miles added, and I even spoke to someone at uhaul in Gettysburg who mentioned the truck was â€œlateâ€ even though my original order for a truck was to go til 7/10 at 3pm. The representative at uhaul Gettysburg told me they would not charge me. Well after reviewing my electronic check in receipt last night I was charged for an extra day. I am disappointed over all that whoever in regional that rebooked everything did not properly move over information from original request.Mathew E.

I talked with 3 uhaul facilitates including the one I had the reservation with. Eventually, I ended up 100 miles from my original pick up location and my girth uhaul facility to get my truck. I understand trucks are tough to get but this was ridiculous and completely upended my plans. There was one employee, Joyce Robinson, outside Gettysburg PA, who actually cared enough to m as me calls for me and got me in a truck. She did her job albeit it was 100 miles from my location and hours past my pick up time. This was a brutal day and experience.Thomas U.

They do not have enough staff for the location. The lady that was there by herself was knowledgeable and courteous, but to attempt to do everything by herself is not fair to the public. I understand that things happen, but on a Sunday morning, I waited 1 hour in line to pay and then waited an additional hour to have the trailer attached to my vehicle. I was overcharged for one day when I dropped off the van in time. The location manager checked the vehicle nearly two hours after I dropped it off, 1 1/2 hours after the due time, resulting in me being charged for another day.
