Demanding that the customer uses the buggy app that I had to jump through hoops to get to work just to save on labor costs is kind of a jerk move. Meh. It is what it is

Diana SI did not know that uhaul only fills the gas tank to 1/4 tank, i am used to having a full tank to travel........it was a good thing that I looked at the gauge before starting my trip because i definitely would have run out of gas on the road. I filled the tank up but someone needs to remind customers of the fuel policy. thanks

Gaston LThe off hours pickup process did not work as the app kept failing and wouldn't allow me to receive my key before the store opened, costing me key time to move the items I needed (needed an extra day to complete move due to time lost). Then I dropped off before closing on a Sunday and got a call the next day asking me where the truck was. The had forgot to complete the return process. The truck was clean and fully functional but the pickup and drop-off both had significant issues.
Eric MEnsure that the rented vehicles are parked in such a way that the customer does not have to drive further into the storage area and circle around to get to the exit lane. The truck I rented was park in a row of vehicles and there were trailers double parked across the aisle, preventing a trun in the correct direction.
Lawrence HThe truck was old but maintained well. It was not up to date with any way to plug in a device, so if you need GPS to complete the move, it wasn't as easy. This is no knock on the location though. The app also didn't work well, at all. But, this is where the location (Mitch, specifically) helped a lot. He did his best to get us out of there, and was very helpful. He's the reason I would r commented the Benner location.
Daniel FThey didn’t help much. They just instructed us to use the app. We were on our own to go across a busy highway to find our own truck. Then instructed to take pictures and no pictures would load. Customer service was not there!
Rick MThe reason this location is great is because of the staff. I was not aware of the changes to an app driven model. Horrible idea to remove the human element. Staff is professional and helpful and the main reason I am a repeat customer. If I no longer have access to staff I will stop using Uhaul. Kudos to the location employees!

James DYour corporate website asks if you'd like to check in electronically or with a person. Remove that from your website. It irritates customers when they arrive and can't check in with an agent. The app did t work once I arrived, and the agent couldn't t help me with it. He was also irritated by having to check us in -- he said he wasn't supposed to do it. I'll rent elsewhere and pass it on to everyone I know.

Kenneth FThe app-only thing saved no time. It cost me time. I specifically selected counter-service in the booking, only to find out when I arrived that it was app only. This slowed me down, and cost me money, because your crew didn’t adequately explain the fuel policy, and clicked me through the app, falsifying my consent to a ridiculous $30 fuel charge based on an inaccurate initial reading. Your little tricks to soak more money out of people is at least immoral, and I’m wondering if the way you treated me might be illegal.

William Hi do not live on line. I want to deal in person. i want a paper receipt. milage was terrible, the doors locked every time i got out. it said i had a door open and flat tires. i stopped 3 times and checked. windshield was dirty.

Gary SMostly I'd say I was pleased with the staff and equipment. The only misunderstanding (and maybe it was my fault), was that I had been led to believe that my rental included a pull-out ramp to access the cargo area. It was only when I returned the equipment that I was told that the unit I rented did not have a ramp (and never has had a ramp). Not that I didn't already know that! lol

Don AI was supposed to drop off on atherton st. Upon return, had to drive 12 miles and 20 minutes out of my way to avoid wrong drop off fee. The reservation and app experience has decreased significantly. Glitchy check in. Poor clarity for one way rentals. Disappointed overall.

Kathy MThe truck was very old more than 125k miles, check engine light was on most of the time. The gear shifts were difficult.
CIBIN RI picked up my rental on a Friday around 4:30. I asked specifically what time they closed on Saturday because I knew we had to move a couch later in the day. I was told 7. I said no problem it would be back by then. I returned the trailer at 6:15 and they charged me for a 2 day rental. If I knew they were going to do that I could have picked the trailer up on Friday later or got the trailer back in time. But I was told I had until 7.
MICHAEL MThe inside of the cab was very dirty. I had to clean it myself before travel.
Angela JEverything was fine with one exception. All the windows and mirrors were quite dirty. I had to stop at a gas station and clean them, so that I could see the side mirrors clearly.

RICHARD AChecking in without sufficient memory on my phone was impossible. A U-haul worker took pity on me and used his own phone to sign me in. The truck I was given had nearly 130,000 miles on it, and had a shimmy in the steering. The back of the truck was not swept - lots of dirt and debris in the back. This used to be a very easy, friendly, and quality experience. Now it's just average.

Jeff SOverall u-Haul, and its employees were above satisfactory and helped me in every step of this. The third-party moving service U-Haul provided was, however, beyond frustrating. They showed up late, moved very little in comparison to myself. They were here for a little under an hour and seemed to have more of an interest in the stuff I was moving rather than helping me move. I feel like I could have paid my family that money and not strangers who took advantage of me:/
